Airmail Missing You

Hello there! I had a lovely day yesterday. Michael and I had lunch with his dad and step-mum at The Cheesecake Factory, we sat outside because it was such a beautiful day. I discovered that his step-mum has a little obsession with pens just like me! After lunch we stopped at Bed, Bath & Beyond and then MJM so Michael could get a new pair of sneakers. We came back to my house and sat and chatted for a bit and then it was time to take him to the airport. We waited as long as he could before saying goodbye. His flight landed a little a late this morning, I hope that he got some sleep on the plane.

I have a quick card for you today that I made using some note cards that I picked up in Marshalls one day with Michael. The card base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. I disassembled said note cards and adhered one part to the card for the background and another piece is adhered to that with Fun Foam and SNAIL. Next up I used the Simon Says Stamp Jumbo Jets Dies to cut out a piece of Night of Navy and adhered that to the panel with Foam Tape. The you is cut out from a piece of Real Red with the Simon Says Stamp You Craft Die and adhered to the card with Ranger Multi-Matte Medium. Finally, my greeting is from the Simon Says Stamp You Photopolymer Stamp Set and is heat embossed in White Hero Arts Embossing Powder on Real Red. I flagged the right side and adhered it to the card with some more Foam Tape. I love when you can take something and change it around and make it your own! I hope that you enjoyed today’s card and I thank you for stopping by! Have a great Sunday! 🙂

  1. Hi Justin!
Beautiful card!!! A perfect farewell for Michael.
Soon you will be off on your own adventure. How exciting!
    Have a nice day.

  2. Oh, oh, oh Justin! What a perfect card to send to Michael! I cannot imagine any card being better! I love the plane and the Eiffel Tower and the Paris postmark and the air mail border and the Par Avion stamp and, and, and Every Single Thing about this fabulous card! Can you tell I love it? I’m sure Michael would be absolutely thrilled to receive it.

Now it’s time to get packing! You have one heck of an exciting trip ahead of you and you don’t want to get on the plane and say “oh rats, I forgot my such and such”. After all, our such and such is very important to us. LOL Love and hugs, XO 🙂

  3. Great card for Michael, Justin. Enjoy your trip and if time continues going as fast as it is going… Michael will be back before you know it.
    🙂

  4. Hi Justin–so jealous of your trip. FYI, if you love pens, surely you have been to the Fountain Pen Hospital on Warren Street in Manhattan. Check out their catalog for drool city!

  5. Omigosh, love that card! It is so creative. I had to linger while looking at it to soak up all of the wonderful details. So perfect for Michael’s sendoff after a summer of making good memories….. until the next time.

  6. Great card today, Justin. A perfect send off for Michael. I love pens too and have recently found JetPens.com and love their pens at the different price points, as does my 12-year old grandson :-))

  7. I take it that you are mailing this to Michael as I type. Awesome creation, yep I love creating things that start out with a different purpose.

Awesome weekend,, so sad its over. My daughter and I had a great time sxrapbooking. its been almost a year since we did this. She has just left and I’m teary eyed.

  8. What a bittersweet last day with Michael! Great card! I have seen stamps with London Bridge, Big Ben, etc. and I am betting that you find some great ones in London. I hope you get to explore Harrod’s too. On TV’s Food Network, some shows have chefs deconstruct dishes of food into new dishes, and you did that with paper. I love doing that with beautiful note cards. I too am a fountain pen enthusiast. By the way, are you a New Yorker or do you have a British accent? You will have one by the time you get home! Bon Voyage! Be safe! With love, Nancy B
