Mojo Monday 410 & Manhattan!

Well, I had another absolutely amazing weekend! Yesterday Michael and I hit up a few street fairs and wandered around the city again. We took the subway down to Chambers Street and saw the new Dey Street passage and Fulton Street Center. Here are a few pictures…

WFC Subway Station Mezzanine

The lobby in the new Fulton Street Center. All of this was heavily damaged from 9-11 so the rebuilt it. I think that they did a great job!

After that we walked up to Chinatown and Little Italy. It’s so nice going around Manhattan with Michael, he notices things that I never have before. We took a whole bunch of pictures that I will share over the next few days. It was like seeing the city for the first time all over again! I really did have the most amazing weekend! Thanks to Kim again for letting us stay in her place!

The best part of a Monday is definitely that it’s time for another Mojo Monday sketch challenge…

Mojo410

I pondered this one for a little bit before I finally settled on a fun birthday card! The base of the card is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock and the front is covered in a piece of Basic Black. I used the We R Memory Keepers Next Level 3D Gemstone Embossing Folder on a piece of Neenah Solar White 80lb and adhered it to a piece of Fun Foam with SNAIL and Multi-Purpose Glue and then to the card with SNAIL. Across the lower half is a piece of Bermuda Bay with the right side flagged. All of my balloons are cut out with the Simon Says Stamp Balloons Craft Dies. The shaker is Basic Black with the middle and Window Sheet cut out with Sizzix Circles Framelits. Some Fun Foam is also cut out with them and the seed beads and sequins are placed inside with another piece of Window Sheet adhered to the back. Another balloon is cut out from Silver Glimmer Paper and the smallest one from a piece of Real Red. The are adhered with Glue Dots, SNAIL and Foam Tape. My greeting is from the Simon Says Stamp Birthday Messages Photopolymer Stamp Set and is heat embossed in Silver Stampin’ Emboss Powder on a piece of Real Red. I flagged the right side and adhered it to the card with more Foam Tape. You know how I love a shaker card and that Embossing Folder is again, so cool! I hope that you enjoyed my Design Team card for this week’s Mojo Monday sketch challenge! Go and check out the blog for some more inspiration, we’d love to see your card in the gallery! Thank you once again for sharing in my days and I wish you a marvelous Monday! 🙂

  1. Wow Justin! How in the world did you ever manage to get photos of those places with nobody there? Seems every time I’m in Manhattan, no matter how early or late in the day, there are a gazillion people around me! The photos are fantastic and I just love that you are sharing them with us.

Did you bring supplies to Kim’s to make the cards you are posting or did you make them all ahead and then just post them each day? You know that I really love shaker cards and making the balloon into a shaker was just fabulous. Also, one of my favorite SU colors ever is Bermuda Bay. Great job.

So glad you have been having the best weekends ever and it’s so nice of you to share it with us. AND you still have a trip to London to look forward to in September. Have a Marvelous Monday! Love and hugs, XO 🙂

    1. The city is much quieter in the Summer, everyone goes to the Hamptons or CT! I love the city in the Summer! I’m glad that you enjoyed the pictures!
No, I made the cards ahead and then just did the posts. Thanks! It was a fun card to make, not too complicated! LOL!
I really have been having the best summer, I don’t want it to end! I’m happy that I get to share my little adventures with you! I hope that you had a good Monday! Love to you! XOXO 🙂

  2. Love these photos, I want to go there again, too bad my hubby refuses. If theres a will theres a way……

Love this card, especially using the balloon as a shaker, clever. Played alittle with my Fuse, love it!!!! Why some folks hated it is beyond me. I worked on my July SS card kit, yep I cased your skaker card.

    1. Thanks Linda! Manhattan is so much fun, you definitely need to come back!
Thank you! It’s a fun simple shaker! LOL! I love the Fuse Tool too! I think that they are just not using it correctly! Yay! Glad that I was able to inspire you!! 🙂
