Mojo Monday 412

So, another weekend done. It was Michael’s last weekend here, he goes home on Saturday. I have had the best time with him this summer! It is going to very hard to say goodbye but hopefully it won’t be for too long. There are a lot of people rooting for him to come back ASAP! It’s also my last week at work for a while. As of Friday I’m on vacation until September 21st! I have Sunday and Monday to pack and then I’m off to London with my friend Brian for two weeks. I will be blogging but not a card every day. I’ll be sharing pictures and tales of my travels. Hopefully you will come along with me on my trip!

The start of another week and it’s time for this week’s Mojo Monday sketch challenge…

Mojo412

I wanted to do something a little different, play with color a little bit. The base for my card is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock and the front is covered in a piece of Basic Black. For the background I used a piece of Typeset Specialty Designer Series Paper. That large cool globe is the Tim Holtz Globe Die cut from Cucumber Crush and backed with a piece of Pacific Point that I cut out with the Sizzix Circles Framelits. It’s adhered to the card with SNAIL. The tag is cut from a piece of Crumb Cake using the Stephanie Ackerman Tags & Words Framelits and Stamps. I stamped the greeting from the “Vintage” Follow My Heart Stamp Set in Memento Tuxedo Black and tied a piece of Hemptique Natural Hemp Cord thorough the hole before adhering it to a strip of Vellum with Fun Foam and SNAIL. That is then adhered to the card with more SNAIL hidden behind the tag. A Red Glimmer Paper heart is punched out with the Itty Bitty Shapes Punch Pack and adhered to the corner of the tag with Foam Tape. I love the subtle neutrals with the pop of the Cucumber Crush and Pacific Point, it really makes the globe stand out! I hope that you enjoyed my Design Team card for this week’s Mojo Monday sketch challenge. Don’t forget to head on over to the blog and check out the rest of the Design Team’s inspiration and enter your card in the gallery! Thank you so much for coming by today! Have a magnificent Monday! πŸ™‚

  1. Great colors and design. The colors of the globe are perfect and stand out perfectly against the black and white background, not to mention it is perfect to lead up to your trip to London. How exciting!

  2. Wow, you have a lot going on in your life Justin. Four weeks of vacation?! How did you swing that? You are really, really not going to want to go back to work! Awesome card and very appropriate for your upcoming travels.

    1. Yes, I do Sandy! I would like to pause it for a bit! LOL! I need to be away from work for as long as possible! Glad that you like the card! Hugs to you! XO πŸ™‚

  3. Oh Justin:

I absolutely love that sentiment and wow, that globe die is amazing. That die could be hooked up with so many of the stamps I own. Love, love, love it! AND that Pacific Point and Cucumber Crush look so fabulous together. Really makes the card “pop”! Your glitter heart was the perfect accent for this card. What a fantastic card this is and so versatile!

I’m excited that you are going to London for a few weeks. What a great adventure and I can’t wait to see your photos and read your blog about all that you are doing. I’m sorry to have Michael leave. He is so artistic and friendly and is right at home in NY. Maybe he will reconsider coming back to the states for good but if not, as long as he visits every year, that would be O.K. too. Whatever makes him happiest is what counts.

You have yourself a marvelous Monday……….you have so much to look forward to you lucky guy! LOL Love & Hugs, XO πŸ™‚

    1. Grace,
Thank you very much! I love that sentiment too and I think that it’s a great one to use with the globe! I wanted the globe to be the focal point but not take too much away from the greeting!
I’m pretty excited to be going to London too! I am really going to miss Michael. I want him to come back but you are right, he needs to do what makes him happy, whatever that is.
I had a good day and I hope that you did too! Love to you my friend! XOXOXO πŸ™‚

  4. Hi Justin, That was a good idea to start your vacation and trip when Michael leaves. I know it is so hard when friends live so far away. Your card is great. I love the colors and the globe is great for a trip, especially abroad. Have a good day and enjoy the anticipation of your vacation.

Yes, I did plan it perfectly! Michael will be missed for sure. Glad that you like the card! Love that globe! I hope that you had a good Monday! πŸ™‚

  5. Thank you for showing us the globe die. I have been using so many world images lately and that is one die I must add to my collection. I have really gotten into the new In Colors, good additions to the color families.
I am crazed about your vacation trip and look forward to your blog and photos of London and wherever you go. Don’t even think about how it will be to go back to work — oops, sorry I mentioned that! Delete, delete, delete!
Michael, you will be sorely missed in the states! I am so glad Justin gave us your blog to which I already subscribed. I did not know until your blog that you do the Zentangle — I’m a fan of that too. Have a safe trip back and you know that we will look forward to you being back here again.
Justin, I’m so glad we will hear from you and your cards before you leave. Have a safe and enlightening trip. With much love, Nancy B

How thrilling it is for you to go to London. Two weeks will give you enough of time to see and do so much. It is a wonderful place to visit. It’s great to travel when you are young. We love to travel. Good luck on smooth, uneventful flights and safe travels to you and Brian.
