Paper Players 258

Ahh… the middle of the week. It was nice here again yesterday, I snuck out of work and went and had lunch with Michael, a nice way to break up the day. It was a quiet evening, I had dinner and then watched a little TV and made a card. Today I have to go to one of the other sites for work, that should be fun. Can you feel my enthusiasm?! LOL! Only two more days to go!

The Paper Players has a fun challenge this week, clean and simple beach…

Paper Players #258

I got some new stuff that I thought would be perfect for it! Today’s card begins with a base of Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. The front is covered with a piece of Bermuda Bay. My background is a piece of paper from the Heidi Swapp 6×6 Dreamy Paper Pad. I thought a shaker would be fun so I used the Simon Says Stamp Hello Sunshine Frame Die to cut out a piece of Bermuda Bay and Pumpkin Pie. I inlaid the sunshine back into the frame and then adhered a piece of Window Sheet to the back. Some Foam Tape along the edges seals in my mix of Hazel & Ruby The Makery Green with Envy and Pretty Pink Posh Tangerine and Spring Mix Sequins. The sun is also from the same die and is cut out from some Daffodil Delight and adhered to the card with SNAIL and Foam Tape. A simple bright fun shaker card that definitely makes me think of the beach! I hope that you enjoyed my card for this week’s Paper Players beach theme! Thank you for your visit and have a wonderful Wednesday! 🙂

  1. Ah – I can smell the ocean by just looking at your card Justin. Bright and happy and colorful, the way summer should be. This card really does look like it was fun to make. When I read your card description before actually looking at the card I kind of cringed when I read Bermuda Bay with Pumpkin Pie but then I saw the card and it actually works well together. I need to start thinking more “out of the box”.

It’s still way too hot and humid for me to be comfortable so I’ve kind of been in hibernation with the A/C going full blast. I’ll be very happy when we flip the calendar to September and get into fall which is my favorite time of the year. The colors are amazing, the smell of pies in the oven and soups being made for the winter months. Just thinking about it makes me smile.

You have yourself a Happy Hump day and enjoy your high temps while they are here. Love and Hugs, XO 🙂

    1. Yay! Thanks Grace! That’s the feeling that I wanted to evoke! I like odd colors together! Mixes it up a bit and that’s always a good thing!
I will be very sad when we get to September. Even thought I’ll be going away. It’s kind of a bittersweet end to fantastic summer. I know that you are a winter fan but I will always love summer.
I did enjoy the warm sunny day, hope that you stayed cool! Love to you! XOXO 🙂

  2. Awesome shaker card, Justin! You should have thrown a little sand in there, though….I can’t come home from the beach EVER without bringing some sand along with all my other treasures! Thanks for playing with my Paper Players challenge this week!

    1. Thank you so much LeAnne! Yes, I like to forget the sand at the beach! LOL! Great challenge! Enjoy the weekend! 🙂

  3. A-dor-A-BLE! I love that cutie pie sunshine and the inlaid words are awesome! Did you say the entire frame set is from Simon Says? I have to peek at their stuff; you always make some great things with their “stuff”. 🙂 Love this card! Happy Middle of the Week card. I, however, only have 1 more week to go…then it’s RETIREMENT for me! I am excited beyond belief…and to top it off, I only work this Friday for 4 hours, next Tuesday for 7, next Wed for 4 and next Friday for 4. So, it’s not even a full week! Jealous??? LOL Hugs my friend!

    1. Thank you very much Bobbi! Yes, the entire die set is from Simon Says Stamp. I love Simon Says Stamp, they do have really fun products and a talented team of designers! Wow!
