Paper Players 259

Wow! It’s Wednesday! The week is moving way too quickly, I know I never thought that I would say that either! The weather here was nice again although it did get a little humid in the evening. Work was productive which is always good. Little Daniel was at my parent’s again and he came over to my house with me for a little while. He found the Big Shot and needed to know how that worked. The look of amazement on his face was priceless! Maybe he will be crafty when he grows up! The rest of my evening was quiet, I Skyped with Andrea for a little bit and then played with a new fountain pen that I got from Jetpens.com. I have always been a fan of them and have quite a few but you can never have too many pens! LOL!

Today I have my card for this week’s Paper Players sketch challenge…

Paper Players #259

I wanted another bright card before the Summer comes to an end so I reached for some fun paper! The base of the card is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. All of the Pattered Paper is from the Simple Stories Summer Vibes 6×6 Paper Pad. The card front is completely covered in a piece. The banner is cut out using the Simon Says Stamp Bundle of Stitched Shapes Dies and the circles using the Simon Says Stamp Stitched Circles Dies. I adhered the circles to the card with Fun Foam and SNAIL. A piece of Lost Lagoon is cut out with the Simon Says Stamp Smile Circle Die and adhered to the card with Multi-Matte Medium. The greeting is from the Simon Says Stamp Happy and Smile Photopolymer Stamp Set and is stamped in Lost Lagoon with the right side flagged and it’s adhered with Foam Tape. I do love all of the bright colors and fun designs in that paper pad and that Smile die is still a favorite! I hope that you enjoyed my card for this week’s Paper Players sketch challenge! Thanks, as always for stopping by and I wish you a wonderful Wednesday! 🙂

  1. Ah, yes very nice. Subtle colors, not very bright, but bright for you. I love the placement of the “you make me” “smile” and the camera DSP. Perfect. This card made me smile too.
    🙂

    1. Thank you Nancy! Yes, not too bright but definitely bright for me! Yay! I’m happy that I got to make you smile! 🙂

  2. Good Morning Justin:

Your card reminds me of Scrappy Quilts. Those are quilts you make from all the little pieces of left over fabric from other quilts. As a result I’m calling your card Scrappy Surprise! LOL I too love that Smile die and think it pretty much covers it all. You smile because you’re happy, you smile to be nice, you smile to acknowledge a compliment and you even smile to drive your less-than-favorite people nuts! LOL Great job and I hope you have a Whimsical Wednesday my friend. Love and lots of hugs – XO 🙂

    1. Hello Grace,
Yes, the card does have a little bit of a quilt feel to it! Thank you! LOL! I really should send you the card and get you to do the description! You are way better at it! Smiling is my favorite thing, especially looking at people that I love! You really do smile for so many different reasons! Love that! I hope that you had a great Wednesday! Today is my Friday! Yay!! Love to you! XOXOXO 🙂

  3. I love this, Justin! Such a bright, colorful playful card. I love the Smile die; so awesome. I notice you use a lot of Simon Says items….and I think I mentioned before that I have to check them out. Well I did, and my purse will be crying soon! But, good news! I liked their Facebook page, and they were having a contest, and I’ve seen some of their posts and liked most all of them. I got an email yesterday from Simon Says and I WON!!! They said they’re sending me a surprise package of some products. I cannot WAIT! I am so excited to see what I got, and then or course, I now I’ll love them, and order more “stuff”. A crafty person can never have too much of anything! Enjoy your trip to London….I’m sure you’ll have a blast. Can’t wait to see photos! Hugs!

    1. Thank you so much Bobbi! Yes, that smile die is so great! I do like Simon, they have some really different sets and so many different styles! LOL! I feel your pain, I spend way too much there! WOW!! That’s so great that you won!! I can’t wait to see what you get!! I’m with you, you can never have too much crafty stuff! Thanks, I will have a great time! XOXO 🙂

    1. Hello Barbara!! I got a Kaweco Sport in Mint from Jetpens. It’s a nice little fountain pen! I got a fine point and love it! You can also look at the Lamy Safari! Hope that helps! Have an awesome day! 🙂

  5. Interesting, love how you made all those patterns work together, and i love that smile die. We have fall here, not complaining, low 80’s daily, evenings down to 58-60. No humidity is the best!
