Cardinal in the Park

Hmm… Sunday already! There goes that weekend flying by once again! Yesterday I was determined to get some things accomplished. I ran over to Scrap-A-Latte in the morning and picked up some things to start working on next month’s cards for class. When I got back to the house I straightened up a bit and the made a few cards. Around 6:00 I started to head over to Brian and Kim’s for Brian’s birthday, I had to make a few stops along the way. It was nice to see everyone and just laugh! By the time I got back home it was late and I just wanted my bed! LOL! How was your Saturday?

For today’s card I have another Holiday card. I know that I said that it was too early to start on them but the Holiday’s will be here before you know it! LOL! The base for the card is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. I used the new Lawn Fawn Snowy Backdrop to cut out a piece of Soft Sky, it cuts a perfectly sized card front with lots of falling snow. I adhered it to the card with a combination of SNAIL and 2-Way Glue. Across the bottom is a piece of Solar White 80lb, I used the Lawn Fawn Stitched Hillside Borders across the top and adhered that to the card with SNAIL. The park bench, lamppost and greeting are all from the Lawn Fawn Winter in the Park Photopolymer Stamp Set and are stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black and cut out with the coordinating Lawn Cuts. My trees and cardinal are from the Lawn Fawn Joy to the Woods Photopolymer Stamp Set, they are also stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black and are also cut out with the coordinating Lawn Cuts. I used my Copics to colorΒ in the bird and the lights in the lamppost. Everything but the bench and bird are adhered to the card with 2-Way Glue, Foam Tape holds the others in place. Yes, I have been loving Lawn Fawn lately, probably because they have so many images that are fun to color in! I hope that you enjoyed my Holiday card for today! Thank you very much for taking a little time to come by and see me today! Have a creative Sunday! πŸ™‚

  1. Really cute and calming. (But beware of a bird that big right over th bench you are sitting on! LOL)

  2. Really nice, different stamp set and dies. Very nice!! Looks great. Came out so perfect.
πŸ™‚ (I guess I really liked it, ha, ha.)

  3. Good Morning Justin:

Yes, it is Sunday and that means the second half of the weekend, not the end of it. LOL You need to look at the glass as half full instead of half empty.

Since Cardinals are my favorite birds and birch trees are so prolifent in this area I found today’s card to be perfect for a card made in Maine. Just beautiful. Did you know that birch branches are the makings of many decor items like centerpieces, towel hangers and picture frames? They are used a lot in decorations for log homes as well as camps/cottages in New England. The contrast between the red cardinals and white birch branches is absolutely a beautiful background for Christmas cards. Great job Justin, I love it.

Today is a nice, crisp, sunny fall day here. I will spend the day making Italian pasta & bean soup for the freezer and watching the race at New Hampshire Motor Speedway. I make lots of soups in the fall to get ready for the winter ahead. Such a wonderful change from hotdogs and hamburgers and all things grilled.

You have yourself a Superior Sunday. Relax and enjoy the second half of the weekend. Love and hugs, XO πŸ™‚

    1. Hi Grace!
I will do that from now on! You are absolutely right!
I love birch trees! And yes, I did know that birch branches are used in many home decor items, they are nice and neutral with lovely texture! Thank you!!
I bought some soup yesterday to leave at work in case I can’t escape for lunch. I am sorry to say that I’m not a fan of the fall or winter at all. I would much rather have the sun and higher temps!
I hope that you enjoyed your Sunday, mine was pretty good! Did you check out the moon last night? Love and hugs to you my friend! XOXO πŸ™‚

  4. A very pretty and peaceful card. It’s not too early to be making Christmas cards, especially when you need large quantities.
