Mojo Monday 417

Another weekend for the books. Went by too fast as it always does. I had a relaxing day. Heather came by and we went out and got some bagels for breakfast. We stopped back at my house and then stopped by my parents so she could say hello to my Aunt and Uncle. After that Heather went to get a manicure so I went to A.C. Moore to see if the had some Iridescent Medium that I wanted to try, it’s supposed to be a bit like Wink of Stella, I’ll let you know! From there we went to Target and picked up some groceries. Heather headed home and I worked on a few projects and finished up my laundry. Later on I ran to Michaels and picked up some goodies and then stopped by my parent’s again to see my Aunt and Uncle. Around 11:40 I went out to look at the Super Moon. Not a bad Sunday. Here is a picture of the moon from earlier in the evening…

The start of a new week also means a new Mojo Monday sketch…

Yay! A Tall & Skinny, love those! My card base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock with the front covered in a piece of Basic Black. The background is a piece of Hello Honey that I stamped in Hello Honey with the “Vintage” Woodgrain Background Stamp. My panel is a piece of paper from the My Mind’s Eye My Story 6×6 Paper Pad and it’s backed with Basic Black and adhered with Fun Foam and SNAIL. Across the bottom is a piece of My Story Washi Tape that I adhered to a piece of Solar White and then to the card with SNAIL. My square is a piece of Basic Black backed with some Blushing Bride and adhered to the card with Foam Tape. The butterfly is cut out from a piece of Gold Foil Sheet with the Simon Says Stamp Leanna Craft Die and adhered to the square with a Glue Dot. I heat embossed the greeting from the Simon Says Stamp Paper Hug Photopolymer Stamp Set in Hero Arts White Embossing Powder on Basic Black and adhered it to the center of the butterfly with Foam Tape. Finally some Pretty Pink Posh Gold Sequins finish the card. I do love that My Mind’s Eye My Store collection, great colors and fun embellishments! I hope that you enjoyed my Design Team card for this week’s Mojo Monday sketch challenge. Stop by the blog and check out the rest of the Design Team’s cards and enter yours in the gallery! Thanks very much for visiting today, I wish you all a very manageable Monday! πŸ™‚

  1. Hi, loved the the card. Had just seen something else with a colour challenge including Melon Mambo and Crushed Curry, something I wouldn’t have thought of, and wondered about doing something like this with those colours. Was also interested in the butterfly strip (the washi tape?) for some other things. Is it an older one, couldn’t find it on their website. Mind you would have had to get a friend in the States to get it for me anyway as they say they don’t ship to Australia πŸ™ .

    1. Hello Susan,
Thank you! There are so many colors that actually work well together that we never would think of! The Washi Tape is part of the My Mind’s Eye My Story line and it’s a brand new line. I’m sure that you could find somewhere in Aus that they sell it! πŸ™‚

  2. Good Morning Justin:

Love the colors in the card you made for today and, of course, the gold metallic butterfly was the perfect touch! Using the black borders and then reversing it and using the pink border for the butterfly brought the card together perfectly. Great job!

Glad to hear you enjoyed your weekend and yesterday sounded like you had a great day also. Yes, I did watch the eclipse last night. I wish I had thought to take some photos. Oh well, at least I got to see it. Will spend today washing windows and starting the fall cleaning. Not much fun in that but I’ll put some Rock n’ Roll discs into the Bose and sing my way through it. I can do that because no one is home. I can’t sing a note so I can make a fool of myself while I’m alone washing windows. LOL

You have yourself a Magical Monday my friend. Love and hugs, XO πŸ™‚

    1. Hi Grace!
Thank you! I love those colors too and we all know that a little gold makes everything better!
I wish that I had thought to get my dad’s telescope out! It was pretty neat t watch and we won’t have another until 2033! Music always makes cleaning better, doesn’t it?! As long as you are having fun who cares right?!
I had a pretty good Monday, hope you got all of your chores done! Love and hugs to you! XOXO πŸ™‚

  3. Such a gorgeous card, Justin! Love how beautiful the woodgrain looks with the floral paper and that gold foil butterfly is a showstopper!

    1. Thank you so much Julee! I love woodgrain with florals, they just go together! Have a super week! πŸ™‚

    1. Thank you Wanda! That is a bummer that you didn’t get to see the eclipse! But there are lots of great pictures online of the moon! πŸ™‚
