SIP Challenge 14 – A Sketch

A very good Tuesday to you! It’s my last day in England and it’s a little rainy today. I have a few last minute bits and pieces to pick up but I think that I can do that locally. Yesterday I had the pleasure of meeting my FaceBook friend Lesley! We went to the Crypt for a Latte and some cake and had a lovely time chatting. So much so we got a pot of tea and finished that too! I love when I get to meet people in person and Lesley is just lovely! After that Brian and I went to Leister Square and picked up some souvenirs and then stopped by my Uncle’s before having some wood fire pizza for dinner. On to the station after that to make our way back home. A very nice day indeed! Here are some photos from yesterday!

If it’s Tuesday then it’s time for another Stamp, Ink, Paper Challenge and this time it’s a sketch from me…

SIP Sketch Challenge 14

I had fun playing with a new stamp set and did some watercoloring too! The card base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock and the front is covered with a piece of paper from the My Minds Eye Necessities Wood Paper Pad. The panel on the left is a piece of Smoky Slate that I embossed with the We R Memory Keepers Woven 3D Embossing Folder and backed with a piece of Night of Navy and adhered to the card with SNAIL. The main panel is a piece of Night of Navy backed with some Solar White 80lb. My greeting and flowers are from the Clearly Besotted Fairytale Ending Photopolymer Stamp Set. The greeting is heat embossed with Hero Arts White Embossing Powder. I did the same with the flowers but on Canson Watercolor Paper and then cut them out with the matching dies. The flowers are colored in Zig Clean Color Brush Pens and a Water Brush. I adhered the flowers to the panel with some SNAIL and then the panel to the card with Fun Foam and SNAIL. A few Pretty Pink Posh Sparkling Clear Sequins complete the card. I love those flowers, especially watercolored. I hope that enjoyed my Design Team card for this week’s Stamp, Ink, Paper Sketch challenge. Please take a minute to stop by the blog and check out the rest of the Design Team’s cards and enter yours in the gallery! Thanks so much for stopping by and have a wonderful day! 🙂

  1. Hey Justin, what a cool birthday card that is, Lesley did a great job, I love all the English stamps! That crypt floor is amazing – Australia wasnt even discovered when those people were buried… That’s pretty old 0_o I can’t believe it’s time for you to come home again, it seems like enough ony just got there! I’m glad you’ve had a fantastic time, hope your trip home is smooth and safe 🙂 Cheers Justin xoxo

  2. Still enjoying your pictures. That crypt is fascinating! So glad you and Lesley were able to connect and spend time together. What a trip you’re having.

  3. What a great post today! The Crypt is incredible! Even from London you manage to inspire me. Now I have to get that woven embossing folder! Gorgeous card. It looks so simple, yet look at the long list of materials you used. How did you do that in London? I doubt you packed all that to take with you. You finally got the rain on your last day. I think it was great to be able to see so many relatives and friends — fortunate you. Thanks for sharing it all with us. Have a safe trip home although I am sure it will be bittersweet to leave Europe. Love you! Nancy B

  4. Being a stamper is a world of its own. Funny how even after 25 years in the military I keep in touch more with my stamping friends then my military friends. LoL. Mabye because the one thing we have in common is just as strong as a battle buddy. Miss you Justin, so glad you’ve had so much fun. What a treat…I will get there someday.

Love the embossing folder! Thank you for introducing me to so many more products! =)

  5. How great that you got to meet Lesley in person! The Internet is really amazing, and stamping is even more so. Love the embossing folder that you used, and Clearly Besotted is one of my favorites. Thanks for sharing, Justin.

    1. Yes El, Lesley was awesome! I love when I got to meet people that I have spoken to on FB in person and they are exactly how I thought they would be! Love Clearly Besotted! Thank you! 🙂
