Freshly Made Sketches 207

And it’s Friday once again. The week moved by at a rapid pace but I did get some of my list done. Yesterday was beautiful once again and I took a ride with the top down over to Scrap-A-Latte to drop off the cards for next week’s card class. After that I stopped by Brian and Kim’s and hung out there, had some dinner and then stopped back home before heading over to see Heather for a bit. Today I have a bunch of projects to get to and an appointment at the Apple Store to see about my terrible iPhone battery. Later in tonight I’m going out to dinner with Bill, Anthony and Marissa, that should be fun and a nice way to end a Friday!

Today I’m playing along with Freshly Made Sketches and here is this week’s sketch…

Freshly Made Sketches 207

A few fun panels! My card base for today is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock with the front covered in a piece of Very Vanilla. I took two pieces of paper from the My Mind’s Eye My Story 6×6 Paper Pad and backed them Black Card Stock. They are adhered to the card with Black Fun Foam and SNAIL with another piece of Black to complete the panels. The dies that I have from My Favorite Things Die-namics called Geek is Chic matched the glasses in the paper so I cut out a few from Melon Mambo, Hello Honey, Blushing Bride and Gold Foil Sheet. They are adhered to the plain black panel with 2-Way Glue. My greeting is from the Simon Says Stamp I See You Photopolymer Stamp Set and is heat embossed in Gold Stampin’ Emboss Powder on Black, cut out with my Paper Snips and adhered to the card with Foam Tape. A few Pretty Pink Posh Ballerina Pink and Gold Sequins finish the card. I love that paper with all of the glasses and the fact that the dies match so well is a neat bonus! I hope that you enjoyed my card for this week’s Freshly Made Sketches challenge! Thank you for taking some time to come by and see me today! I wish you all an awesome Friday! 🙂

    🙂

  2. Justin,
LOVE, LOVE, LOVE this card!! I’ve always been a fan of the eyeglass theme (having worn them since I was 7). You put all these elements together beautifully (as always).
Have a great weekend. We are leaving on a cruise to Canada tomorrow. You may not hear from me for a week.

    1. Hi Gerri!
Thank you! I too am a fan of the glasses and have worn them since I was 7 too! I wear contacts now though! I am so glad that you like the card and I hope that you have a great weekend and enjoy your weekend! Your cruise sounds like fun and you will be missed!! 🙂

  5. Good Morning:

I just love this paper but couldn’t find it under My Story. Could you possible tell me the exact name of the paper you used that had the eyeglasses on it? Thank you, I enjoy reading your blog everyday,

  6. I mean really Justin! That is just the cutest card Evah! LOL My first thought was that if I were ophthalmologist or optometrist I’d have to have that card replicated into a decorative sign for my office. It is just way too cute and, why haven’t I gotten that eye glass die yet? Huh? Huh? Can you tell me? I haven’t a clue. Just love this card Justin. Wishing you a Fabulous Friday and a wonderful weekend!

    1. Yay! Thanks so much Grace! That is a very good idea! Maybe I’ll ask when I go for my glasses in a few days! Love the eyeglasses dies! I think that you should get them! LOL! I hope that you enjoyed your Friday and that your weekend will be the best! I’ll see you soon! XO 🙂

  7. Good morning…good afternoon…and good evening! LOL. As Grace said “this is just the cutest card evah!!” Love love love this card and the paper. And, of course, you had to get a few sequins on it. These colors just OX pop! Great job.

    1. Good Day Michael! Thanks so much! I love that paper too! Well, you know me and sequins! You have to admit they do add that something extra! 🙂

  8. Hey Justin, I can’t believe its Saturday morning already! My week just flew! I just got caught up on your week’s activities, sounds like you’ve had a great time catching up with friends this week! What ever happened with Kim’s apartment – did you decorate it for her or is it still in the planning stages? Your cards for this week are clever and gorgeous as usual – the glasses are too cute! I’m considering starting my Christmas cards pretty soon, just waiting on an order to arrive, hoping to avoid the last minute rush 😉 I hope you have an awesome weekend Justin xoxo

    1. Hello Kelly!
My week went by quite quickly too! I did have so much fun, but not being at work will do that! LOL! Kim’s apartment is still in the planning stages and will be that way for a while! She is a slow mover! I’m so happy that you enjoyed all the cards this week! I hope to get a jump on Christmas cards too! But I have so many other things to do! LOL! I hope that you too are having an awesome weekend! Off to the city today for Mama! XOXO 🙂

  9. Ooh, I really love the whole eye-glasses thing you’ve got going on. The colors are cool and the little square with the text is like an eye-chart on steroids! What a fantastic design! Thanks for playing along with us at Freshly Made Sketches!

    1. Thanks so much Jen! Who doesn’t like a little geeky! LOL! I hope that you are enjoying your weekend! 🙂
