NYC Twinkle Ornament

Ahh… Sunday. I slept in a little this morning, I’m not a fan of it but you need it ever so often! Yesterday was a very fun day indeed! Sandy and I headed into Manhattan around 10:00, there was some traffic so it took us about an hour and a half to get in. I did manage to squeeze into a parking space just down the block from The Ink Pad and we stopped there first so Sandy could meet Barbara and Jane and do a little shopping. Barbara recommended that we go to Elephant and Castle (which happens to be a stop on the London Underground!) for lunch. We had a delicious brunch and it was a nice, typically tiny NYC restaurant. From there we headed over to the Mama Elephant 3rd Birthday and Holiday Release Party. I got to meet and chat with all of the nice people from Mama Elephant and they were awesome. Simon Says Stamp had sent a few people too and I got spend some time speaking to the lovely Kathy from The Daily Marker.

Me & Kathy Mama NYC

She showed me some fun new techniques and mentioned that she has been seeing Michael’s projects for the 30 Day Coloring Challenge on Instagram. Mama Elephant also had lots of stamp sets and dies for sale including some of their new Holiday release so I picked up a few things! They had raffles and The Ink Pad had given them a Gift Certificate so they were nice enough to let me pick the number and give it to the winner! After the event was over Sandy and I headed over to The High-Line and then took a walk through Chelsea Market before setting off for the car and heading home. What a nice way to spend a Saturday!

My card for today features one of the new stamp and die sets from the release and I LOVE it! The card base for today is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock with the front covered in a piece of Basic Black. My background is a piece of Neenah Desert Storm. I stamped the branch from the Mama Elephant Twinkle Towns Photopolymer Stamp Set in Mossy Meadow for the needles and Soft Suede for the branch. The branch is filled in with a Copic. My ornament and NYC skyline is stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black on Solar White 80lb and cut out with the coordinating die. I colored it in with Copics and then stamped the string and bow in Encore Silver Metallic before adhering the ornament to the card with Foam Tape. The greeting is from the same die set and is cut out from some Cherry Cobbler and Basic Black. I adhered them to each other a little offset and then to the card with 2-Way Glue. To give the illusion of lights I adhered a few Pretty Pink Posh Silver and Red Sequins in the branch. I LOVE that little NYC scene in the ornament, how perfect for the day yesterday! I hope that you enjoyed my card for today and I thank you so much for stopping by! Have a sensational Sunday! 🙂

Layered Butterfly Flutter

Hi there and a good Saturday to you! Yesterday turned out to be a nice day for the most part. We had nice bright sun all day and then around 6:00 it started to rain. I did get some top down time so it’s all good. I went over to Heather and we went to Monty’s for lunch while we were there I saw Danielle’s boyfriend Derek and said hi. After lunch I came home and worked on a few projects and then stopped by my Parent’s to see Daniel for a bit. He was vacuuming with the Dust Buster and wouldn’t give it back! Around 7:00 Anthony and Bill came by and picked me up and we headed to Friday’s to meet up with Marissa for a better late than never birthday dinner for me! It was a great time and by the time I got home I was ready for bed! Today I’m off to Manhattan with my friend Sandy for the Mama Elephant Release Party downtown. That should be lot’s of fun! We are going to head in a little early and walk the High Line for a bit and have some lunch! What are you up to today?!

Today I have a simple card using a stamp set that has been sitting on my desk for a while! The card base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock with the front covered in a piece of Neenah Desert Storm. My background is a piece of Solar White 80lb. All of the Butterflies are from the Hero Arts Color Layering Butterflies Photopolymer Stamp Set. I stamped them in Simon Says Stamp Rosie Cheeks, Teeny Bikini and Hot Mama Ink, two of the large ones directly on the background and then one large and two small on a separate piece of card stock. The other three are cut out with the matching Hero Arts Color Layering Butterfly Frame Cuts along with the bodies and antennae that are stamped in Simon Says Stamp Black Ink. The background is adhered to the card with Fun Foam and SNAIL. I adhered all of the bodies with some Multi-Matte Medium and then adhered the three cut out butterflies to the card with Foam Tape. My greeting is from the same set and is also stamped in Black. To finish the card, a scattering of Pretty Pink Posh Gold, Ballerina and Orchid Sequins are adhered with more Multi-Matte Medium around the butterflies. The layered colors in the butterflies are so neat and I do love that they have matching dies! I hope that you enjoyed my card for today! Thank you, as always, for coming by! I’ll have some pictures from the Mama Elephant Event tomorrow! Have a super Saturday! 🙂

Freshly Made Sketches 207

And it’s Friday once again. The week moved by at a rapid pace but I did get some of my list done. Yesterday was beautiful once again and I took a ride with the top down over to Scrap-A-Latte to drop off the cards for next week’s card class. After that I stopped by Brian and Kim’s and hung out there, had some dinner and then stopped back home before heading over to see Heather for a bit. Today I have a bunch of projects to get to and an appointment at the Apple Store to see about my terrible iPhone battery. Later in tonight I’m going out to dinner with Bill, Anthony and Marissa, that should be fun and a nice way to end a Friday!

Today I’m playing along with Freshly Made Sketches and here is this week’s sketch…

Freshly Made Sketches 207

A few fun panels! My card base for today is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock with the front covered in a piece of Very Vanilla. I took two pieces of paper from the My Mind’s Eye My Story 6×6 Paper Pad and backed them Black Card Stock. They are adhered to the card with Black Fun Foam and SNAIL with another piece of Black to complete the panels. The dies that I have from My Favorite Things Die-namics called Geek is Chic matched the glasses in the paper so I cut out a few from Melon Mambo, Hello Honey, Blushing Bride and Gold Foil Sheet. They are adhered to the plain black panel with 2-Way Glue. My greeting is from the Simon Says Stamp I See You Photopolymer Stamp Set and is heat embossed in Gold Stampin’ Emboss Powder on Black, cut out with my Paper Snips and adhered to the card with Foam Tape. A few Pretty Pink Posh Ballerina Pink and Gold Sequins finish the card. I love that paper with all of the glasses and the fact that the dies match so well is a neat bonus! I hope that you enjoyed my card for this week’s Freshly Made Sketches challenge! Thank you for taking some time to come by and see me today! I wish you all an awesome Friday! 🙂

Hello! I hope that you are all having a good week! I had a nice day yesterday hanging out at The Ink Pad in Manhattan with Anna. You get to meet some really interesting people in a stamp store in the West Village! It was another beautiful day, the sun was shining and it was nice and warm! When I got home I had a sandwich with some ham, cheese and Salad Cream that I brought back from England, delicious! Then it was time for TV and bed!

Today I’m participating in a blog hop with a bunch of my friends from one of the Facebook groups that I belong to. It’s called One Stamp at a Time Cards and More. The focus this month is Halloween! If you have arrived here from Raquelle Clifton welcome! She had some great projects, didn’t she?! I have two cards and a fun treat bag for you today so let’s get to it!

First up is a super simple card, probably the simplest card that I have ever made! The card base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock with the front covered in a piece of Black. I used a piece of paper from the My Mind’s Eye Something Wicked 6×6 Paper Pad and adhered it to the card with Fun Foam and SNAIL. A few Pretty Pink Posh Charcoal and Sparkling Clear Sequins and done! It’s not often that you can find a piece of pattered paper that doesn’t need anything else! Love the sparkly mustache and top hat on the skull too!

OSAT October Blog Hop Dapper Skull Card-WM

The second card has the same base and also a piece of Black covers the front. A simple piece of Neenah Solar White 80lb Card Stock is the background with a “Vintage” Paper Pumpkin stamp for the greeting. My candies are from the Exclusive Simon Says Stamp with Waffle Flower How We Roll Photopolymer Stamp Set. They are stamped in Simon Says Stamp Jellybean Ink and Stampin’ Up! Tangerine Tango Classic Stampin’ Ink with the outlines stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black. I cut them out with the Coordinating Die and adhered them to the card with SNAIL and Foam Tape. I love those brightly colored candies!

OSAT October Blog Hop Candy Card-WM

Last but not least is my treat bag! I used the Lawn Fawn Goodie Bag Die and some Black 100lb Card Stock for the bag itself. Before I assembled it I cut out a circle from the front with the Lawn Fawn Stitched Circles Dies and adhered a piece of Window Sheet to the inside. Some 1/4″ Score Tape is used to assemble the bag. My ghost is stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black and colored in with Copics, he is form the Lawn Fawn Booyah! Photopolymer Stamp Set. I used the coordinating Lawn Fawn Booyah! Lawn Cuts to cut him, the bow tie and bag out. Some Foam Tape adheres him to the card and the bow tie to him, a little dab of Multi-Matte Medium adheres the bag. For the BOO I used the Lawn Fawn Owen’s ABC’s Photopolymer Stamp Set, stamped them in Tangerine Tango and cut the out with the Coordinating Dies. Some more Foam Tape adhered them to the treat bag. Fill it with some candy and you’re all set for your trick or treaters!

Paper Players 265

It was another beautiful day here yesterday and looks to be the same today. I stayed in for a good part of the day and worked on some projects and FaceTimed with Andrea for a while. Last night I ran over to see Heather and FaceTimed with Jules for a bit with she was on break. She works at Heathrow for their version of the TSA and was having a latte in Costa! I’ll be heading into Manhattan in a bit to work at The Ink Pad again today, so if you are in the area stop by and say hi!

Before I get to this week’s card for the Paper Players card I wanted to thank Lisa for choosing my card for her Cut Above from last week’s challenge! You can see the winners post here and my original post here!

I was inspired by Michael’s bright colors in his work to make my card for this week’s Paper Players challenge…

Paper Players #265

Today’s card begins with a base of Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock with the front covered in a piece of Black. I took a piece of Solar White 80lb and used my Mini Ink Blending Tool with some Twisted Citron, Hickory Smoke and Picked Raspberry Distress Ink to create the background. My greeting is from an old Paper Pumpkin Kit and is heat embossed in Hero Arts White Embossing Powder. The background is then adhered to the card with Fun Foam and SNAIL. The cool skull is from the Simon Says Stamp Sugar Skulls Photopolymer Stamp Set and is stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black and cut out with the Coordinating Die. I used my Copics to color him in and then added some Stardust Stickles on some areas for a little sparkle. He’s adhered to the card with Foam Tape. Finally, a few Pretty Pink Posh Charcoal and Essentials By Ellen Iridescent Grey Sequins are scattered around and complete the card. A really bright card for me but I do love that Sugar Skull! I hope that you enjoyed my card for this week’s Paper Players challenge! Thanks very much for your visit today and I wish you all a wonderful Wednesday! 🙂

SIP Challenge 17 – Theme!

It was a beautiful day here yesterday, top down in the car beautiful! In the morning I went to the office to get my things and chatted with Nancy, Nicole and Danielle for a bit. On my way home I stopped by Heather’s quickly to say hi. When I got home I did a few things and chatted with Andrea for a bit and then headed over to see Brian and Kim for lunch. Brian and I ran to SmashBurger, he’s never had it before! We both got shakes for the ride back to the house too! We had a nice lunch and then I stopped back home and got my mail which contained some Simon goodies so I played for a bit before heading back over to Heather’s. We ran to Target and then she made a yummy dinner. I would say that was a pretty good Monday! 🙂

To continue on with his participation in the 30 Day Coloring Challenge Michael has a super fun bright card for you today! Click HERE to check it out!

Well, it’s Tuesday so that means it’s time for this week’s Stamp, Ink, Paper Challenge! This time around we have a Theme for you…

SIP Theme 17 800

Flowers! I’m not quite ready to let go of summer yet! LOL! This card was actually my Mum’s Birthday card! The base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. I used a piece of Solar White 80lb for the background that I embossed with the We R Memory Keepers Next Lever 3D Geometric Embossing Folder and adhered it to the card with a combination of Multi-Purpose Glue, SNAIL and Fun Foam. The flowers and leaves are from the Altenew Vintage Roses Photopolymer Stamp Set. I stamped the flowers in Wisteria Wonder, Perfect Plum and Blackberry Bliss and the leaves in Always Artichoke and Mossy Meadow. They are all cut out with the coordinating dies and adhered to the card with SNAIL and Foam Tape. My greeting is from the Altenew Label Love Photopolymer Stamp Set, stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black, cut out with my Paper Snips and adhered with more Foam Tape. I brushed it with some Wink of Stella Clear Glitter Brush Pen and added a few Pretty Pink Posh Gold Sequins to finish off the card. My mum loved it and I hope that you do too! So there you have my card for this week’s Stamp, Ink, Paper Challenge! You know that you want to go and check out what the rest of the Team has come up with so head on over to the blog. Mojo Monday 418

Happy Monday! I can say that for now, no work for me! I know that I shouldn’t be happy about that, but good things are ahead! I have to run up to the office this morning and get my things. I will miss the people form my old department and my friends. Everything happens for a reason right?! I had a nice day at The Ink Pad with Anna yesterday. It was also a sunny day, a nice change from the rain that we have been having. I drove in and got a space not too far away. When I parked I noticed this Fish & Chips Shop which I think has the best name ever!

A Salt & Battery

Really great name don’t you think?! The day moved along, we were pretty busy. I’m back there on Wednesday. I did get to run down to the basement which you get through by going into the building behind the store and they have one of those really cool old elevators…

Old Elevator

Pretty cool! That has been there for a long time! It took me a little bit longer than I thought to get home. I stopped and saw Mum and Dad and had a quick sandwich. Heather called when I got back to my house so I went over to see her for a bit and then by the time I got home it was time for bed. Another really good Sunday!

Continuing on with his daily post Michael has a really cool card with some paper-piecing on it! Go over and check it out by clicking HERE!

Now you know what Monday means… it’s time for this week’s Mojo Monday sketch…

Mojo418

I played with some Lawn Fawn again, but this time it’s an exclusive set that you can’t get anymore from last year. Today’s card begins with a base of Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. I used the Lawn Fawn Small Stitched Rectangles to cut out a piece of Smoky Slate for the background. I wrapped some Hemptique Black Hemp Twine around it and tied it in a bow, it’s then adhered to the card with Fun Foam and SNAIL. The panel in the middle is a piece of Solar White 80lb that is stamped with the Lawn Fawn Woodgrain Backdrops Photopolymer Stamp Set in Simon Says Stamp Cloudy Sky Ink. It’s cut with the Lawn Fawn Stitched Journaling Card, once and then I placed it over the already cut lines to make it a little smaller. A piece of Vellum has the greeting from the Simon Says Stamp with Lawn Fawn Feathered Friends Photopolymer Stamp Set heat embossed in Black Stampin’ Emboss Powder. It’s adhered around the back and then the panel is adhered to the background with SNAIL and Fun Foam. The two birds and feathers are also from the Feathered Friends Set, both stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black. I colored them in with Copics and used the Lawn Fawn Stitched Circles Dies to cut out the birds and the feathers are fussy cut with Paper Snips. I tucked the feathers behind the panel and the circle is adhered with SNAIL. Finally two hearts from the Woodgrain Set are colored in with Copics and also cut out with Paper Snips. Some Foam Tape holds them in place. Aren’t those two little birds just the cutest?! I hope that you enjoyed my Design Team card for this week’s Mojo Monday sketch challenge! Head on over to the blog and check out the rest of the Team’s cards and enter your one in the gallery! Thank you very much for taking some time to visit with me today! Have a meaningful Monday! 🙂

Nautical Tags Birthday

A very good Sunday morning to you! I had a nice day in Manhattan yesterday, it was great to see Jim and Diane and catch up with them. After I left their house I met up with Kim and we went to a little Italian place called Felice for lunch and I had the best homemade ravioli! We stopped back at Kim’s apartment for a bit and then headed downtown. At 14th Street we said good bye and I headed over to the Westbeth Center to meet up with Barbara and catch up with her. There are some fun things in the works at The Ink Pad so stay tuned for more on that! I made it home from the city just in time to say goodbye to my Aunt and Uncle, it was great to have them here and they will be missed. This morning I’m headed back into Manhattan to work at The Ink Pad for the day so if you are around come by and say hello!

My friend Michael is on a roll, he has another post today for the Mojo Monday sketch! Some more really neat Halloween cards! You can check them out HERE! 🙂

My friend Danielle had asked me for a birthday card for her boyfriend’s dad’s birthday. He is a big boat fan so this is what I came up with. The card base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. Down the left side is a piece of paper from the Authentique Seaside 6×6 Paper Pad. I used the Simon Says Stamp Large and Small Tags dies to cut out a piece of Night of Navy and another piece of Seaside Paper. On the larger tag I used the Project Life Corner Rounder to round the bottom corners. Using the Simon Says Stamp Sailboat Die I cut the negative from the smaller patterned paper tag and then tied them together with some Hemptique Natural Hemp Cord. They are then adhered to the card with Fun Foam and SNAIL. A piece of Smoky Slate is cut out with the middle size Simon Says Stamp Splashy Waves Die, stamped with Happy Birthday from the Simon Says Stamp Birthday Messages Photopolymer Stamp Set in Night of Navy and adhered to the bottom of the tag. My anchor is a piece of Solar White 110lb that I cut out with the Simon Says Stamp Set Sail Dies and then covered in Versa-Mark and Ranger Liquid Platinum Embossing Powder, it’s heat set and then adhered to card with Ranger Multi-Matte Medium. Finally, a few red enamel dots from Recollections are added and complete the card. Danielle was quite happy with the card and I hope that the recipient was too! I hope that you enjoyed today’s card, thanks very much for visiting and have a simple Sunday! 🙂

Pals Paper Arts 270

That was an interesting Friday. I found out at work that they are having cuts and my job has been eliminated. I have to go in on Monday and see if there are any other positions available that I would be interested in. I believe that everything happens for a reason, so I need to think about what I want to do. I would like to get a job that I really enjoy or maybe find some way to work for myself. Any suggestions would be appreciated! To go along with that cheerful news it rained here all day yesterday. But I’m off to Manhattan this morning and then at The Ink Pad tomorrow so it will be a good weekend!

And yes, Michael has yet another post for you! That’s three in a row! He’s definitely on a roll! You can take a look at his latest creation HERE!

Now on to today’s card, it’s for this week’s Pals Paper Arts color challenge…

PPA 270

I went with a birthday card, they are something that I need to add to my ever growing stash! The card base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. It’s cut to 4″ wide and I heat embossed the chevrons from the Simon Says Stamp I See You Photopolymer Stamp Set in Gold Stampin’ Emboss Powder down the left side. A piece of Always Artichoke is embossed with the Woodgrain Textured Impressions Embossing Folder and adhered next to the chevrons with SNAIL. My frame is cut from Sahara Sand using the Simon Says Stamp Birthday Frame Die. I heat embossed the heart image from the same set in Hero Arts White Embossing Powder on Blackberry Bliss and adhered it to the frame with 2-Way Glue. The frame is then adhered to the card with Fun Foam and SNAIL. The happy is also from the same set and is heat embossed in White on Always Artichoke and adhered to the heart with Foam Tape. To balance the card a bit I cut out the 2 and u from more Always Artichoke using the Papertrey Ink Block Alphabet and Numbers Dies. They are adhered to the card with more 2-Way Glue. You knew there had to be some Pretty Pink Posh Gold Sequins on there somewhere so I did a scattering of them around the heart. I love that geometric heart and the typed sentiments in the I See You Set, so cool! I hope that you enjoyed my card for this week’s Pals Paper Arts color challenge! Thanks very much for coming by today! I wish you all a fun Saturday! 🙂

Fab Friday 74

Hmm… I wonder what today is?! Wait… don’t tell me… I know! It’s FRIDAY! LOL! The weather here has been dismal to say the least. Last night I came home and made a few cards and then out to dinner with the family again. It was mum’s Birthday yesterday and she decided that she wanted to go to Applebee’s. The same crowd as Tuesday although little Daniel was a bit of a terror! After he finished his quesadilla and ketchup and broccoli and ketchup he was done and I mean done. Things started flying all over the place. He is approaching the terrible twos so I guess this is the start! Today hopefully work will go fast, I’m off to The Apple Store and dinner with Anthony and Bill tonight. Tomorrow I will be in Manhattan visiting my friends Jim and Diane and then Sunday I will be working at The Ink Pad! If you are around stop in and say hi!

Michael has been on a roll lately! He has another card, this time for the Paper Players, and is participating in the 30 Day Coloring Challenge that Kathy is hosting over at The Daily Marker! Click HERE to go and check it out!

What could make Friday better you ask? Well, it’s time for another Fab Friday challenge…

Fab Fri 74 10-02-2015

I love the sketch and I had some fun playing around with the stamp set from this month’s Simon Says Stamp Card Kit! The card base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. I inked a piece of Solar White 80lb with some Simon Says Stamp Cloudy Sky Ink using my Ranger Mini Ink Blending Tool for the background. The main panel is more 80lb stamped with the glasses, in Cloudy Sky and Sunkist Ink, from the Simon Says Stamp I See You Photopolymer Stamp Set to create a pattern. It’s adhered it to the card with Fun Foam and SNAIL. The greetings are from the same set. They are all heat embossed, the I see you in Black Stampin’ Emboss Powder on Vellum and the ampersand along with the I Love You in Hero Arts White Embossing Powder on Basic Black. I punched the ampersand out with the 3/4″ Circle Punch, that along with the I Love You is adhered to the card with Foam Tape. Some carefully hidden 2-Way Glue adheres the I see you and some Pretty Pink Posh Tangerine Sequins complete the card. I love the fact that you can “build” your greeting with the set and the glasses are just fun! I hope that you enjoyed my Design Team card for the Fab Friday Sketch challenge! Take a quick peek over on the blog and check out the rest of the Team’s projects and enter your take in the gallery! Thank you so very much for visiting me today! Have an amazingly fabulous Friday peeps! 🙂
