Golden Christmas Skyline

It was a windy day in Manhattan yesterday but still a very nice day! The sun was out and it wasn’t too cold. I took the train in and then the subway up to see my friends Mary and Jon again. After that I took the subway down to The Ink Pad and spent a little time with Anna. From there it was back to Penn Station to take the train back out to the Island. I came home and called my friend Maureen to see if she wanted to take a ride with me to get a pair of boots. We stopped at the shoe store and Wal-Mart before getting some pizza. The pizza place is right next to A.C. Moore so I had to stop in there and I ran into my friend Melissa and her two children. We chatted for a bit and got caught up. While browsing through the rest of the store I spotted the Heidi Swapp Minc Mini Machine and it was only $39.99, well I could;t pass up that bargain! LOL! After I got home I sat down and started playing with it and that’s what inspired my card for today!

The card starts with a base of Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. I used the Lawn Fawn Snowy BackdropΒ Die to cut out a piece of Black 110lb and adhered it to the card with Tombo Stamp Runner Dot Adhesive. Across the bottom is a piece of Cherry Cobbler with the greeting from the “Vintage” Hand Penned Holidays Stamp Set heat embossed in Hero Arts White Embossing Powder and that is adhered to the card with SNAIL. The skyline is cut from a piece of Solar White 80lb that I covered with toner from my laser printer by printing a black page. I then used the Mama Elephant Cityscape Creative Cuts to cut out that toner covered paper and then ran it through the Minc Mini with a piece of iCraft Gold Deco Foil. Some Multi-Matte Medium adheres it to the card. A few Pretty Pink Posh Gold Sequins scattered around the greeting and it’s finished! I LOVE that skyline covered in the gold foil! It looks amazing in person, so shiny! I hope that you enjoyed my card for today and I thank you for spending a little of your Sunday with me! Enjoy the rest of your weekend! πŸ™‚

  1. Hi Justin! I love the card! A skyline is one of my favorite scenes. I am not sure how you accomplished all that, but it certainly gives me ideas for gold foil paper and a night background with stars from a stencil. Have a great day! It sounds like you no longer obsess about Mondays! Love and hugs, Nancy B

    1. Hello Nancy!
Thank you! I too am a big fan of skylines! Loving the Minc Mini! Yes, when you don’t have a set schedule there are no Mondays! Love to you! XO πŸ™‚

  2. Good Morning Justin:

Love the gold skyline on the black sky! Of course if it shines I’m liking it. LOL The card really does look beautiful. I take it that the Minc Mini Machine is a foiling machine? Am I right? I don’t get to see all these new machines now that all our local stamp stores have closed. Hey, did I mention to you that my round trip ticket into the City from New Haven was only $10.? See, being old does have its advantages although I admit the ticket agent could have at least asked me for an I.D. LOL

Cold and windy here today but at least the sun is shining. Only two Sprint Cup series races left to the season so I’m sure I’ll be lost on Sunday afternoons after those until February when the races start again at Daytona. I better get out to the kitchen and make the sausage and peppers for supper. I like to have something already for after the race. You have yourself a sensational Sunday my friend. Love you! It was windy here yesterday but nice and sunny! I even had the top down in the car! My dad watched the race last night, rain delay of 6 hours was it? Your dinner sounds yummy! Love you too! XOXO πŸ™‚

  3. Great deal on the Minc Mini – have been looking for a similar deal in California for myself with no success yet. Maybe Black Friday. Sensational card – very nice design work! Blessings.
