Mojo Monday 425

And how was your weekend?! Mine was good! Yesterday I went to the movies with Andrew and Brian to see The Hunger Games – Mockingjay 2 and it was really good! Andrew was relieved that it ended! LOL! You remember that he doesn’t like sequels! After that we took Brian home, he had peeps coming over, and Andrew and I had lunch at Friday’s. From there we came back to my house and decided to start cleaning out the Stampin’ Galley. We managed to box up most of my old sets and made loads of room for new stuff! It also prompted me to clean off my desk, I can’t remember the last time that I saw all of the top of it! I should have taken a before pic!

Clean Desk!

It was so nice to make today’s card on that desk! I did have a bit of a headache again in the middle of the day and that took a bit to go away but when it finally did leave I got my crafty on! I finished off the evening watching some of the AMA’s. Love a Sunday spent with friends!

Isn’t it neat that we get to start each week with a fun sketch from Mojo Monday?! Here is this week’s…

Mojo425

I was inspired to make a card using some Bronze by one that I saw on Pinterest last week so I picked some up when I was at The Ink Pad on Saturday! The card base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock with the entire card front covered in a piece of Kraft Card Stock. The strip down the middle is a piece of Island Indigo that I embossed with the Decorative Dots Textured Impressions Embossing Folder. My panel is a piece of EK Success Adhesive Wood Sheet and it’s adhered to a piece of Solar White 110lb. I put some Versa-Mark on the edges and heat embossed it with Ranger Copper Embossing Powder and then adhered the wood piece to it. The snowflakes, numbers and greeting are also embossed in Copper. They are cut out from Solar White 110lb using the Simon Says Stamp Nadine and Kinley Snowflake Dies along with the abstract numbers, cut out with the Simon Says Stamp Number Block Dies. The greeting is from the Simon Says Stamp Deco Trees Dies. I adhered the large snowflake and greeting with Multi-Matte Medium and the numbers with Foam Tape. For the small snowflake I used teeny pieces of Cool Tak Clear Foam Tape. I am loving the Copper Embossing with the Kraft and Island Indigo! I hope that you enjoyed my Design Team card for this week’s Mojo Monday Sketch Challenge! Head on over to the blog and take a peek at what the rest of the Team has created to inspire you! Thank you so very much for checking in with me! Have a super duper Monday! πŸ™‚

  1. Oh you’re work area looks neat and inspiring. I think it’s time for me to do the same. I should purge old stuff too. It’s hard to get started but feels good once you’ve done it. I love that card. That copper embossing powder is the greatest!

    1. Trust me Carol, it has probably never looked like that!! It does feel much better to work there now though! It is hard to get rid of old stuff but it makes room for the new so it’s worth it! Thank you! Love that copper embossing powder! πŸ™‚

  2. The wood adhesive sheet and copper embossing powder are both new to me and real standouts! The copper embossing powder actually looks like copper, oh my! AND that wood adhesive sheet has gone onto my “gotta’ have” list! Boy Justin, you sure know how to keep me broke! LOL I have to thank you for introducing me to all these new things, you are right on top of all the trends.

I have gone through my craft room so many times and gotten rid of stuff I don’t use. That would be fine if I didn’t keep filling it up again so that it has to be cleaned out again so that I can fill it again……………and so it goes. LOL I do have to agree with Carol – it feels so good once it’s done.

The weekend was busy. Trying to get organized for Christmas but I don’t seem to be making much progress in that area. In fact, I’m heading out today to do some shopping so that I can get the gifts I need to mail out before December 1st. My siblings are really good about putting the packages aside until Christmas Day and so am I. The final NASCAR Sprint Cup race was last night so until February the hubs and I will wander around like lost souls on Sunday afternoons. You have yourself a Marvelous Monday and, by the way, we had our first snow last night. Love and hugs, XO πŸ™‚

    1. Thank you so much Grace! I love that copper powder and the wood sheet is great! Love to have a natural element on a card! I know how to keep myself broke too! LOL!
The cleaning isn’t that much fun but the filling up again sure is!! It’s a vicious cycle but good one! And yes, it does feel good when it’s done!
I haven’t even thought of Christmas! You are much further ahead than I am! I think that you should make Sunday afternoons crafty afternoons!! You can keep your snow my friend! My weekend was great! Love to you! XOXO πŸ™‚

I cant wait to see Hunger Games, going this weekend with my daughter. We started out seeing Harry Potter, just us two, then the Twilight movies and finishing up with Hunger Games. I love this tradition. I aways get nervous shell forget about it, but every year she say, “so lets go this weekend”

    PLEASE!!!! Clean my room, please.

You should see all of the stuff that I have packed in my room!! LOL! πŸ™‚
