Paper Craft Crew 172

Hey there! Do you have all of your festivities planned for Thanksgiving? Will you be going Black Friday shopping until the wee hours of the morning? The answer to both of those questions for me would be no! LOL! I’m not a huge fan of lines and I’ll be going next door to Mum & Dad’s for Thanksgiving. Yesterday was a little colder here than it has been. I played in the new and improved Stampin’ Galley for a bit in the morning and then ran over to see Renee and Angie at Scrap-A-Latte for a little bit before coming back home and spending a little time with little Daniel. After dinner I headed over to Heather’s and we ran to Target and then back to her house for an early Thirsty Thursday! Brian and Patty even came! Always a good time when spent with my peeps! Today I’m going to try and get some serious creative time in and get some on-line things done! It’s supposed to be in the 60’s here on Thursday so I plan to enjoy some outdoor time then!

It’s mid-week so I’m back over on the Paper Craft Crew for this week’s sketch…

PCCCS172 DT Sketch 11-25-2015

I used a whole bunch of different products on today’s card! Love when you can mix things from different companies and have them play nicely together! The card base for today is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock and it’s cut so that when it’s folded it makes a 4 1/4″ square card. My background consists of a piece of paper from an old My Mind’s Eye 6×6 Pad called The Merry Days of Christmas on the top and a piece of Dazzling Diamonds Glimmer Paper across the bottom. I used the Simon Says Stamp Frames Craft Dies to cut out a piece of Early Espresso and Crumb Cake that I stamped with the Lawn Fawn Woodgrain Backdrops Photopolymer Stamp Set in Crumb Cake. They are held together on the back with some tape and adhered to the card with Foam Tape. The tree is form the Hero Arts Color Layering Christmas Trees Photopolymer Stamp Set and is stamped in Simon Says Stamp Catkin, Green Leaf and Hero Arts White Unicorn Ink. I used the coordinating Frame Cuts to cut it out and adhered it to the frame with SNAIL. Finally, the greetingΒ is from the same Hero Arts Set and is stamped in Green Leaf with the ends flagged and adhered to the card with some more Foam Tape. I do love the bit of sparkle from the Dazzling Diamonds Glimmer Paper and the eclectic mix of elements! I hope that you enjoyed my Design Team card for this week’s Paper Craft Crew sketch challenge! Stop by the blog and see what the rest of the Design Team has done with the sketch and enter your card in the gallery! Thank you for taking some time to come by and visit with me today! Have a wonderful Wednesday! πŸ™‚

  1. AHHHHHHHHHHH glitter paper! My first smile of the day! LOL Justin you just know I’m going to love it if it sparkles and shines! LOL I also love the wood grain look from your Lawn Fawn stamp.

I’m befuddled today and happy to be that way. Usually the day before Thanksgiving I’m cooking all day and doing dishes all day and making lists and worrying about what I’m forgetting and just crazy in general. This year I am relaxing and enjoying the beautiful weather and sunshine. It’s wonderful to have guests for Thanksgiving and this year I get to feel how it is to BE a guest. It feels weird!

You have yourself a Wonderful Wednesday and enjoy being with family and friends tomorrow. Please extend my Happy Thanksgiving wishes to your Mom, Dad and family. Love and Hugs, XO

    1. Hmm, you liked the glitter paper Grace?! LOL! You know how I love some woodgrain! LOL!
Oh! It sounds like a very nice way to celebrate Thanksgiving! I do it that way every year! You will enjoy it! Good of you! I hope that you have a lovely day! It’s nice and sunny here too! I have so much stuff to do and need to find the motivation to do it! Where oh where did it go?! I will wish everyone a Happy T-Day from you and send my love to all of your peeps too! Love you my friend! XOXO πŸ™‚

  2. Good morning, Justin! What a sweet card today! At first glance, I thought that tree could pass for a nice, creamy, swirly, ice cream cone. But then I came to my sensse and realized it’s a tree. What a weirdo I am. But, hey, art is art, right? We all see things differently. In fact, I’m the one who loves to find images in clouds! I hope I never lose my sense of imagination. You seem to be having lots of fun since you’re not working now. Good for you! Life is too short not to. It’s nice to hear you so happy. I wish you, and your family, a wonderful, fun filled, and loving Happy Thanksgiving. You rock! Hugs !

    1. Hello Bobbi!
Thank you so much! Yes, I love that art is subjective and people see all different things when they look at it! Ice cream always sounds nice! LOL! I hope that you never loose that sense of imagination, we all need as much of it as we can get! I am really enjoying myself! I’m the happiest I have been in a while! Just need to find different ways to make money! Damn those bills! Happy Thanksgiving to you and yours!! Enjoy your peeps today!! Hugs to you my friend! πŸ™‚

  3. Hi Justin, been loving your cards and posts. One day I really hope to get to Scrap-A-Latte. It would be so much fun to run into you. We will be driving up to Mt.Kisco (my sister’s) tomorrow for the festivities. First I’ll be picking up my uncle in Belle Harbor about 10:30 a.m., hoping to leave Massapequa by 9:30 a.m. Just preparing some stuffed mushrooms today to cook in the a.m. My tiny contribution to dinner. Also, I will NOT be leaving the house on Black Friday . . . can you imagine Sunrise Highway?! Happiest Thanksgiving to you and your family! Enjoy the day!

  4. Love this! Vintage and masculine!!!! NO WAY will I even thinl og going near a shopping area. I detest traffic, crowds and rude folks in general. sorry, left work early, wanted torun to Michaes and Home Depot for some tiles. Traffic nuts, accidents, folks running lights, really why? Michaels was nuts, although I did get my items. LOL I got hit by a clerk pushng a tall cart full of junk, after i excused myself from getting in her way and i accidently pushed the cart back, she found me, apologized and said she had to get out of customers way. Gotta love the holiday rush. LOL I thought i was a customer. And its not even Thankdgiving. Never made it to Home Depot. I’d go tonite but cant miss criminal minds. LOL

Have an awesome Thanksgiving. Thank you for all your inspiration. I honestly read you blog every day to smile, laugh and get inspiration.

    1. Thanks Linda!! I thought that it was fun card too! I am with you, I too do not enjoy traffic or crowds of crazy people! Glad that you got what you wanted from M’s! I feel bad for the employees on days like Black Friday, people throw things all over! Would they do that if it was there store?! Home Depot is not worth missing Criminal Minds! LOL! I hope that you have a great Thanksgiving! I am truly grateful for all of you! I love to read the comments and chat with you! Always brings a smile to my face!! You inspire me to create every day, never forget that! XO πŸ™‚
