SIP Challenge 24 – Colors!

So, I got up late again yesterday! I have to stop that! LOL! I did have a very productive day despite my late start. I went on a cleaning frenzy! All of the stuff that has spilled out of the Stampin’ Galley into the living room has been reorganized and put into the Stampin’ Galley! I spent a few hours making room and rearranging things so that it would all fit! I now have my living room back and even put up my extremely non-traditional Christmas tree! I like to let it settle for a few days before I decorate it. As soon as I have it decorated I will post a picture. I’m warning you, it’s VERY non-traditional! But when it comes to Christmas, that’s me! Later on after dinner I took a ride up to Michaels and Target with Taylor. I had a few things to get and found some things that I didn’t need! Isn’t that always the way it is?!

It’s Tuesday and time for this week’s Stamp, Ink, Paper Challenge! We have some fun colors for you…

SIP Color Challenge 24 800

It reminded Carolyn of Summer, but that’s because in Australia they are heading into Summer! Me, I thought of Christmas! I wanted to play with a few new goodies that I received in the mail yesterday so I used them for today’s card! The card base is Neenah Solar White 110lb with a piece of Black 110lb covering the front. My background is a piece of Solar White 80lb and is adhered to the card with SNAIL and Fun Foam. I used the Simon Says Stamp Chisholm Wreath Die to cut out a piece of Cucumber Crush for the wreath and Watermelon Wonder for the bow and berries. They are adhered to the background with 2-Way Glue. The greeting is cut from Watermelon Wonder and Black 110lb using the Simon Says Stamp Merry & Bright Dies. I adhered them to one another and the card with more 2-Way Glue. Some Pretty Pink Posh Gold Sequins are adhered with Multi-Matte Medium in between the berries. I added some Glossy Accents to the berries for little more dimension. A quick brush of Wink of Stella Clear Glitter Brush Pen over the Merry and the card is done! I love that intricate wreath and the bow and berries that go with it! I hope that you enjoyed my Design Team card for this week’s Stamp, Ink, Paper Color Challenge! Head on over to the blog and see what the rest of the Design Team has come up with to inspire you and enter your project in the gallery! Thank you for visiting with me today! Have a terrific Tuesday! 🙂

    1. Yes indeed it is Carolyn! Thank you!! I think that we have a great mix of cards this week too! 🙂

  1. Cute card today! Love that 3-D wreath! Isn’t it great that a fruit and veggie name of card stock, works so well for Christmas colors? And you sound like me right now. Retirement has me busier than a little bee. I don’t know how I found time to work before. I’ve been cleaning the craft room off and on for weeks. Sold a lot of things on eBay and made $ 600 so far. Not bad for a lady who’s not working anymore. LOL I’m so glad you are enjoying your time off. You are keeping busy too, I see. I wish you and your family the very Happy Thanksgiving Justin. Love all the updates and photos of little Daniel. He’s too cute! But then, look at his Uncle. 🙂

    1. Thank you Bobbi! LOL! Yes, it is great that the fruit and veggie card stock works for a holiday card! I hope that I can make this new doing all sorts of things job work for me. I’m so much happier! I need to put my stuff on eBay but I hate creating the listings! It needs to be done! I like to be busy and listing things will definitely keep me that way! Happy Thanksgiving to you and your family! I’m so glad that I get to share all that I do with wonderful people like you! You are too sweet! XOXO 🙂

  2. Hi Justin:

I keep forgetting about doing the “shadow” effect when I die cut words. I’ll have to tie a string around my finger or something because I love the dimensional look it gives to words. That wreath die is just beautiful in its simplicity. I can see a gazillion ways to use it for any occasion. As you know I like clean and simple cards but I like them even better when they sparkle. I do love that Wink of Stella glittery look. I have been using mine a lot since I received it.

It sounds like you had a really productive day yesterday. I love when that happens. If I don’t get myself into productive mode pretty soon I’m going to be in big trouble here. My girls don’t live close enough to come bail me out with addressing cards, wrapping and mailing gifts, decorating the house, etc. Perhaps I need to hit the caffeine trail hard. LOL You have yourself a Terrific Tuesday my friend. Love and hugs, XO 🙂

    1. Hello Grace!
I like the shadow effect! It “beefs” up the die cut and gives it a cool look! Just make one and leave it in front of you at your desk! That’s what I do when I want to remember to do stuff! LOL! Love Wink of Stella!!
I like a productive day, I need to feel accomplished! I’m sure that you will get in gear soon enough! I find that coffee always helps and is delicious too! I enjoyed my day and I hope you did too! Love ya! XOXO 🙂

  3. Cute, love how those spring colors sing winter. Love your shadow effect on your words. Its so late for me, cane home and made cinnamon sugar almonds, oh so good! Just need them to cool, I’m tempted to put tghem outside, LOL. I alwats give my family gifts at Thanksgiving. These will go into my goodie bags which are made. And of course bananna bread!

I’m jealous, please come over and clean my room out, that way I can sleep late! LOL

    1. Thanks Linda! Yup, they are fun bright but christmassy colors! Your Cinnamon Sugar Almonds sound lovely! What a nice thing to give for Thanksgiving! I love banana bread too!
LOL! The sleeping late is getting out of hand! I hate it when it happens! Have to put an end to it! LOL! 🙂

  4. I love the wreath and especially the large bow. All the elements are so light and airy. That’s certainly a different look than heavy wreaths we usually see. Another tip to your creativity, Justin! I, too, like the shadow effect of the sentiment. I’ll have to try it tomorrow.

    1. Thank you HJ! Yes, light and airy is the perfect way to describe the card! It’s nice to see a very simple wreath! The shadow effect is my favorite way to do die cut sentiments! Have fun crafting! 🙂

  5. Fabulously striking card and stunning colors Justin! I’m looking forward to seeing picture of your tree.

    1. Thanks os much Dana! I’m going to try and finish the tree today! It’s definitely not your usual tree! 🙂
