Crisp Blue Winter Cardinal

It was another fun filled day here yesterday! I got my hairs cut in the morning and then came home and FaceTimed with Andrea while we both made cards. My mum had a Doctors appointment so I got to hang out with Daniel for a bit. When my brother got home he hung out here for a while until my parent’s got back and then he and Daniel went over to my parent’s. Later on I met up with my friend Louis and we went over to Seaford Middle School to see the winter concert that they were having. Andrew and Satellite Lane performed, it was great to see all of them. We sat with Kayleigh and Andrew’s parents. Kayleigh is Andrew’s girlfriend and she is awesome! After that we went to the Freeport Diner for a late dinner and then came back to my house and watched some YouTube videos. There is a new artist called Troye Sivan and he was on Elvis Duran the other morning. He has an album out called Blue Neighbourhood and it’s fantastic! We watched some of his videos and then called it a night. I’m off to The Ink Pad today to hang out with Anna, always fun!

My card that I have for you today uses some more new goodies that I got on Black Friday from Altenew. My card begins with a base of Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. The background is a piece of Solar White 80lb that I used a Mini Ink Blending Tool and some Hero Arts Tide Pool Ink to create that subtle sky that I love so much lately. The cardinal, branches, feet and berries are from the Altenew Winter Cardinal Photopolymer Stamp Set, the branches are stamped in Hero Arts Cup O Joe, the feet in Butter Bar and the berries in Altenew Ruby Red and Grapevine Crisp Inks. The sentiment is stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black and the background is then mounted to the card with SNAIL and Fun Foam. For the cardinal I used my MISTI and Altenew Sea Glass, Ocean Waves, Dusk and Desert Night Crisp Ink to stamp the layers from lightest to darkest. He is cut out with my Paper Snips and then adhered to the card with Foam Tape. You know how I love some layering stamps and the cardinal is amazing! I also have to say that Altenew Crisp Ink are great, they stamp very nicely! I hope that you enjoyed my card today and I thank you so much for visiting! Have a stupendous Saturday! 🙂

Hmmmmm isn’t a Cardinal stamped in blue a Blue Jay? LOL I love the soft background you have created. I think that Tide Pool color of blue is absolutely luscious! Of course your perfect snipping plays a huge roll in making this card so beautiful! You’ve done it again my friend – outstanding!

Enjoy your day in the city. I’m not sure if my girls are in Manhattan today or next Saturday for the show at Rockefeller Center. It’s great that the weather has been holding out instead of what we usually expect this time of year. You take care and say hi to everyone at The Ink Pad for me. Love and Hugs, XO 🙂

  9. Very pretty, Justin! You did a great job on the sky background. I’m not a great fan of the cardinal stamps that have been popular lately, but your rendition is striking. Great design!
