Freshly Made Sketches 216

Hi there and a happy Saturday to you! I’m up and out early today, off to Manhattan! I have an appointment at the Apple Store on West 14th for my iPhone and it’s horrible battery and then I’ll be at The Ink Pad with Anna and Barbara. Tonight we are all going to dinner for a sort of Holiday party! So much fun! Yesterday I crafted and watched Daniel again for a bit. Around 5:00 I headed over to Brian & Kim’s to get them and the girls and take them to the airport for their little Disney weekend! The traffic was horrendous but that’s NY! When I got home I had some dinner and then Heather stopped by for a bit. Her grandfather is in the hospital and is 93! He’ll be out and back to his old self in no time but I’m sending him well wishes to him anyway. What are you all up to this weekend?

I stopped at Michaels the other day with Sandy after dinner and found this Hero Arts Set that I have wanted for a while and that’s what I used to make my card for this week’s Freshly Made Sketches challenge…

Freshly Made Sketches 216

Before I get to myΒ card for this week’s challenge I wanted to thank Linda for making me her Perfect Prince for last week’s challenge! You can see the winner’s post HERE and my original post HERE!

Today, the card base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. That awesome holographic paper is from a 6×6 Pad from Craft Smith that I also picked up from Michaels a while ago and creates my background layer. On top of that is a piece of Vellum that I used the Simon Says Stamp Notebook Edges Dies on the left side of. The ornaments, string and greeting are all from the Hero Arts Christmas Crystals Photopolymer Stamp Set. I stamped the crystals in Versa-Mark and heat embossed them with Hero Arts White Embossing Powder on Tim Holtz Watercolor Card Stock. They are colored with the Zig Clean Color Real Brush Markers and water. I used my Paper Snips to cut them out and then heat embossed the strings in Ranger Liquid Platinum and the greeting in Hero Arts White Embossing Powder before adhered the ornaments to the Vellum with Foam Tape. Some more Foam Tape hidden behind the ornaments adheres the Vellum to the card. I love those crystals watercolored and that holographic paper is just the coolest! I hope that you enjoyed my card for this week’s Freshly Made Sketches challenge! Thank you, as always, for spending some time with me today! Have a spectacular Saturday! πŸ™‚

  1. Good Morning Justin!

That stamp set is fabulous. I love the shapes of the “crystals” and can think of a gazillion ways to use them. I swear, you find the best dang stamp sets on earth and I’m so happy that you share them with us. The metallic paper is super gorgeous and makes a fabulous backdrop for the “crystals”. Just beautiful.

I hope you guys have a great little party tonight. Sometimes people don’t realize how much work goes into owning a store, especially one with limited space. I have got to get you to take some photos of the window displays you do for Anna. I think that may be something you need to consider doing as your next occupation. That way you would be doing something you are fantastic at and having fun doing it and getting paid for it.
Have yourself a Super Saturday! Love and Hugs, XO πŸ™‚

  3. Those crystals are so different and beautiful! I can imagine them stamped on the holographic paper too and then cut out and shiny background like gold or silver foil paper behind them. Ooh, the creativity you arouse! Yes, photos of your window displays are requested. Good idea…
I thought yesterday was Saturday, so I gained a day instead of the other way around! Happy Weekend to all!! Hugs, Nancy B
