Mojo Monday 428

I had a little bit of quiet day yesterday. I got some crafty stuff done in the morning and then my friend Maureen came over and helped me take some pictures of things for Etsy. After that we grabbed some pizza and then ran into A.C. Moore so I could get some more of the plastic ornaments and make a few more of them like the one from yesterday. From there we headed over to HomeGoods, with the top down again because it was in the high 60’s! I picked up a board to tape my pieces down to when I watercolor them and Maureen got some stuff too. The rest of the evening was spent puttering around the house and then I watched a little TV before bed. This morning I’m off to retrieve Brian, Kim and the kiddies from the airport! I can’t wait to hear all about their Disney trip!

Starting another week with a new Mojo Monday sketch challenge, it’s the last one of 2015…

Mojo428

I used some purples and blues on my card for a nice bright winter card! The base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. Myย background is a piece of Solar White 80lb that I “embossed” with the Simon Says Stamp Kinley and Nadine Snowflake Craft Dies and a beige Embossing Pad. It’s adhered to the card with Fun Foam and SNAIL. Across the lower half is a piece of American Crafts Purple Glitter Paper. My tag is a piece of Tim Holtz Watercolor Card cut out with the Simon Says Stamp Large Tags Craft Dies. I heat embossed the snowflakes from the Simon Says Stamp Circle Sayings Holiday Photopolymer Stamp Set in Hero Arts White Embossing Powder and then used some Seedless Preserves and Peacock Feathers Distress Ink mixed with water to color the tag. The bottom of the tag is trimmed off in a v and some 3/8″ White Grosgrain Ribbon is tied in the top. The tag is adhered to the card with Fun Foam and SNAIL. My greeting is also from the Circle Sayings Holiday Set and is stamped in Simon Says Stamp Hot Mama, the snowflake is stamped in High Dive and I cut it out with the Sizzix Circles Framelits and adhered it to the tag with Foam Tape. To finish the card I adhered a few Pretty Pink Posh Sparkling Clear and Aqua Sequins. I love the colors together and the cool effect on the tag! I hope that you enjoyed my Design Team card for the last Mojo Monday Sketch of 2015! Head on over to the blog and check out the rest of the Design Team’s cards and enter your one in the gallery! Thanks so much for stating your week off with me! Have a wonderful Monday! ๐Ÿ™‚

  1. Hi Justin,
Love these colors together. The snowflake embossed images are beautiful. Great card!

    1. Hello Gerri!
Thank you! I love blues and purples and the snowflakes in that set match the dies! ๐Ÿ™‚

  2. I’ve gotta’ tell you Justin, I love the name Hot Mama for that pink ink. Tee Hee. This card is just beautiful and pink and turquoise are really a hot combo these days. I know that card had to be tons of fun to make. Also, great idea to keep the sequins wrapped around an open clothes pin. Wish I had known that when I was decorating Toni-Lynn’s dance costumes!

You have yourself a Magnificent Monday. Yes, I did get my thank you cards done. It was quick and easy because it was from a Paper Pumpkin kit. I usually have tons of thank you cards all made but evidently I used my supply up without realizing it. That is when a stamp kit really does prove itself worth of having on hand. Love and Hugs as always – XXOO ๐Ÿ™‚

    1. Yes Grace, I agree, it’s a great name!! I do love the colors together, one of my favorite combos! The card was a lot of fun to make! The sequins actually came that way from Concord & 9th!
I had a good day, busy but great! Glad that you got your thank you cards done! I have so many unopened Paper Pumpkin Kits, they need to go on Etsy too! Love to you!! XOXO ๐Ÿ™‚

  3. Not to be a pest…but could you explain in a bit more detail the ART of embossing with dies, please? It’s a beautiful card and speaks volumes of stunningness…my made up word!!!

    1. Not being a pest at all Perrie! You just use the Big Shot sandwich with the Tab 1, a plate and a beige embossing mat under the card stock. Put the dies on top and then your plate and run it through. It embosses the card stock instead of cutting! I like your made up word! ๐Ÿ™‚

  4. Love the white snowflake die used for background. Great colors too. Stunning card. ๐Ÿ™‚
