Sketchy Heart Feathers

Wow! It’s the last day of 2015 so Happy New Year’s Eve! As I look back on this past year I have to say that it was a pretty good one. It started off in January with my trip to Florida for the Stampin’ Up! Leadership Conference but the best part of that was hanging with Maggie and staying with Germaine and her husband! I had an awesome Summer with Michael, Maggie and lots of Manhattan topped off by a wonderful trip to London with Brian! My only regret is that if I had known that I would be out of work shortly after returning from London I would have stayed longer! 2015 was a good year and 2016 will be even better! I did wake up with a headache this morning, that might have had something to do with Thirsty Thursday being moved to last night! I had to take Brian home, he had way too much Whiskey and when I got home I was just ready for bed. After the Excedrin kicked in I made my card for today. Now that Christmas is done we can start focusing on the next Holiday… Valentine’s Day!

My card today starts with a base of Ivory 110lb Card Stock. I stamped a piece of Kraft Card Stock with the Tim Holtz Ledger Script Background Stamp in Simon Says Stamp Smoke Ink and adhered it down the left side of the card. The tag is cut from another piece of Ivory 110lb with the Clearly Besotted Rounded Tag Die. My heart is cut from some Real Red with the Simon Says Stamp Sketch Heart Die and the feathers from a piece of DIY Shop 6×6 Paper using the Simon Says Stamp Feathers Craft Dies. I adhered them to the tag with Multi-Matte Medium. A piece of Black 110lb is cut out with the Simon Says Stamp XOXO Border Die, trimmed and adhered with Foam Tape. I tied a piece of Hemptique Black Hemp Twine through the top and then used some Fun Foam and SNAIL to adhere the tag to the card. A few Pretty Pink Posh Sweetheart Mix and Charcoal Sequins complete the card! The layout is one of my favorites and I still am loving that Sketch Heart and the Feathers! I hope that you enjoyed my last card for 2015! Thank you for another fun year here on the blog! I look forward spending some time in 2016 with you and can’t wait to see what the New Year brings for all of us! Have a safe an very happy New Year’s Eve! 🙂

  8. What a spiffy card today, Justin! I love that feather, peeking out of the heart, with the hugs and kisses. Very creative! Sounds like 2015 was a great year for you. You made me laugh when you said if you knew you’d be out of a job, you’d have stayed longer in London. What a great idea! Why not, right? When the tough things come, the tough get going! Are you planning on working again in 2016 or have you already found another job? Sometimes it’s just nice to lay low for awhile, do your own thing, if you can do so financially. I hope that whatever you do in 2016, you still create because we love to see your work! Happy New Year my friend. May it be the best for you! Hugs!

    1. Thank you so much Bobbi! I did have a good 2015 and am looking forward to an even better 2016! It would have been nice of them to let me know about the job, I had an open ticket!! Happy New Year to you and I hope that it’s the best for all of us!! Hugs to you!! 🙂
