Mojo Monday 431

Well, it snowed here last night, bummer! Just a little coating, not a fan at all! I did have a nice day yesterday. I took the furniture over to Heather in the morning and then we came back to my house to get my car, got some gas and headed into Manhattan. Traffic was pretty good on the way in. We picked up Kim and Maggie and headed uptown to go to the Diner. After driving around for about 30 minutes trying to find a parking space we finally gave up and parked in the garage and walked over to the Diner. Kim and Maggie had breakfast and Heather and I had lunch. From there we took Maggie and Kim back to Kim’s and then headed down to The Ink Pad. We found a parking space right around the corner! Jane and Brianna were there and I dropped off my cards and picked up my Finetec Metallic Watercolors from Jane, can’t wait to give them Β try! We were back home in less than a hour, not a bad way to spend a Sunday morning! I watched The Imitation Game and then had dinner with my parents. More HGTV was on tap to finish off the day!

The start of another week and time for another Mojo Monday sketch challenge…

Mojo431

I went with a wintry birthday card for this week! The card base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. The background is a piece of paper from the Bo Bunny Whiteout Collection. I wrapped a piece of Vellum around the right side and adhered the panel to the card with Fun Foam and SNAIL. My Happy Birthday is cut out from a piece of Night of Navy and Solar White 80lb with the Simon Says Stamp Birthday Circle Craft Die. I adhered them to each other and to the card with Elmer’s Multi-Purpose Spray Adhesive. My snowflakes are the Simon Says Stamp Rylynn and Ashlynn Snowflake Craft Dies, one is cut form a piece of Champagne Glimmer Paper and a piece of SolarΒ White 80lb and the other from a piece of Solar White 110lb. They are both adhered to the card with Glue Dots. A healthy dose of Pretty Pink Posh Silver, Gold and some Blue Sequins from the Seattle Mix finishes off the card! I love that piece of Bo Bunny Paper with the blues and metallics, so cool! I hope that you enjoyed my Design Team card for this week’s Mojo Monday Sketch Challenge! Take a peek at the blog and check out the rest of the teams cards and enter your one in the gallery! Thank you so much for starting your week off with me! I wish you all a marvelous Monday! πŸ™‚

  1. What a great wintry birthday card, Justin! Perfect for a cold Monday morning with Jack Frost nipping at your nose. πŸ™‚ Love the snowflakes you added and the vellum overlay adds to the wintry feel with the look of ice or frost. Stay warm!!

    1. Thanks so much Christy! Yes, it’s chilly here too and we have the snow, unfortunately! Have a good day! πŸ™‚

  2. Wow what a gorgeous card Justin! Love it! We have snow here in the UK too, let’s hope it goes away soon!

    1. Thank you Rachel! Yes, I spoke to my cousin and she told me that you have snow! I would be fine never seeing it again! πŸ™‚

  3. I love this card. I have not made a shaker in quite awhile. I even purchased some seed beads and sequins. The circle seems to invite that, doesn’t it? Maybe this week I will try.

    1. Thank you Emily! Yes, the Birthday Circle makes the perfect shaker card! You have all of the supplies, go for it! πŸ™‚

  4. Gorgeous card, Justin–and obviously quite fitting for the day. I loved watching the snow come down last, but that’s probably because in don’t have to shovel or drive in it. πŸ™‚ Hope you’re able to be warm and cozy today!

    1. Thank you Leah! It was quite fitting for here too. I just don’t like snow, unless it’s on a card! Enjoy your day! πŸ™‚

  5. What a beautiful winter card, not that I like anything about winter! Your coice of DP pulls this together so well. Nosnow here but -7. I’m too old to keep on tolerating this. Off to dentist then not budging from this house. Take care

    1. Thank you very much Linda! I too do not like anything about winter! But it does make for a nice card! LOL! It’s freezing here too! Hope the dentist went well! πŸ™‚

  6. Very pretty Justin. Glad to see you used the HB die I like so much. Great color choices!
Stay Wayne. We still have a bit of snow on the mountains here is Prescott, AZ. Just enough to be pretty!
    Have a great day,
    Nola

    1. Thank you Nola! I like that die a lot too! I’ll bet the snow looks pretty in the mountains, not so much in the backyard! You have a wonderful day! πŸ™‚

  7. The blues and metallics are so pretty! I really like the circle birthday die. Very pretty snowflakes. Perfect for this weather…wonder what they do in southern California for “winter”…HA! A smattering of snow here in the Ohio River Valley, but oh, so cold. Stay warm. Nancy B

    1. Thank you Nancy! I love that background paper! I think that I might like to see what they do for winter in Southern California! Yup, it’s oh so cold here too! You stay warm as well! πŸ™‚

  8. Hi Justin:

Sounds like you had a great Sunday. Good for you. I too love that circle Happy Birthday die and have put it on my wish list. I will have to try using some fun foam on my cards. Is the fun foam sticky on both sides or not? Very beautiful colors today and I agree with the other ladies that the vellum really does add a wintry look to the card.

It’s snowing pretty good again today. Even though it’s plowed, the driveway never showed black again from Friday’s storm. Since there is no school today the plows haven’t bothered to get out yet. From all we have heard the roads are pretty slippery right now. It’s nice to be retired and just look out and not have to go out! I hope the weather clears up for the coming weekend as Toni-Lynn and her husband are coming up to Maine and will visit us on Saturday.

You have yourself a Memorable Monday and take a positive attitude toward the snow. You might as well enjoy the beauty of it because you can’t change it. Love and hugs, XO πŸ™‚

    1. Hello Grace!
I did have a nice day, but I usually do when it involves the city! The Birthday Circle is just fun! I use Fun Foam that has no sticky on it, I add tape runner! Thank you! Glad that you like the card!
I give you a lot of credit, you have way too much snow for me! At least you don’t have to go out in it! I hope that your weather get better too and that your visitors have a safe ride!
I know that I can’t change the snow, but I still don’t have to like it! LOL! Love and hugs to you! XOXO πŸ™‚

  9. Hi Justin!
Beautiful card!! I love what you do with these dies! Who wouldn’t love a card like this?

  10. Wowza! *So* pretty, Justin! Love that patterned paper and the way you incorporated your die cuts.
