Paper Craft Crew 176

I am so not enjoying this colder weather! It was 14 degrees this morning, that’s just not necessary! I thought that my favorite feature of my car was the convertible part but the heated seats are running a close second! How many more days until Spring?! I had a somewhat productive day, I crafted and looked into finally updating my blog to the look that I actually moved it for over a year ago! Sometimes that backend stuff is a little complicated and you need to step away from it for a little… well… long time and go back and take another look! Hopefully by the end of the week the new look will be up barring any new snags! I got to see little Daniel for a bit too and Taylor graced me with her presence for a short visit! I ran out last night to get gas and it was far too cold for me to do anything else, I couldn’t wait to get back into the warm house! Today I’ll be going over to see my friend Sue! Love spending time with her!

My card for today is for this week’s Paper Craft Crew sketch challenge…

PCCCS176 DT Sketch 1-06-2016

I played with some more Concord & 9th goodies on today’s card, loving them! The base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. Down the left side is a piece of Scotch Black Glitter Washi Tape and some Ruler Washi Tape. I used an old Stampin’ Up! sunburst stencil and some Simon Says Stamp Goldenlocks Ink with a Ranger Mini Ink Blending Tool to create the circle. It’s cut out with a Sizzix Circles Framelit and adhered to the card with Fun Foam and SNAIL. The lightbulb and greeting are from the Concord & 9th Shine Brighter Photopolymer Stamp Set. I heat embossed the light bulb on Vellum using Hero Arts White Embossing Powder and Ranger Liquid Platinum for the filament. The base is more Liquid Platinum embossed on Brushed Silver. They are both cut out with the coordinating Shine Brighter Dies. I used Multi-Matte Medium to adhere the bulb and SNAIL for the base. My greeting is heat embossed on a piece of Black 110lb with more Hero Arts White and also cut out with the Sizzix Circles. I added a few Wood Veneer Stars around the greeting and some Pretty Pink Posh Onyx and Sparkling Clear Sequins to finish the card. Yes, I am a little obsessed with that Black Glitter Washi and the sequins, well we all know how I feel about those! I hope that you enjoyed my Design Team card for this week’s Paper Craft Crew Sketch challenge! Stop by the blog and check out the rest of the Team’s cards! Thank you for your visit, it’s always good to have you stop by! I wish you all a wonderful Wednesday! πŸ™‚

  1. Grrrr….new Concord & 9th!! LOL. Great card! Love love love that lightbulb and the rays behind it is just perfect!

  2. Hi Justin:

I’m lovin’ that black glitter Washi tape. I’m going to stop at JoAnn’s when I go to get my hair cut today and see if they have any. I haven’t gone “a little bonkers” in a stamping product since the Misti but I seem to be somewhat obsessed with getting that tape. LOL The light bulb and saying on this card are fabulous. I especially like the “be the light” saying – it’s very inspirational. All together a very special card.

You have yourself a Whimsical Wednesday Justin. If you do it will take your mind off the cold which, by the way, you have nothing to complain about since we woke up yesterday to minus 2 degrees with no wind chill factored in. Love and hugs as always my friend. XXOO πŸ™‚

    1. Hello Grace!
Thank you! Yup, a little obsessed with it! If you can’t find it in JoAnn’s then you might try Target or Walmart. I got mine in the stationary section and I think that it was on clearance. I am loving the Concord & 9th stuff!
I wish you a wonderful Wednesday! Yes, I need to take my mind off of the cold, I hate it! LOL! Oh, -2 is way too cold!! Love and warm hugs to you! XOXO πŸ™‚

  3. Terrific card Justin! I love all the details – stars, light rays and sequins, but the tape measure is my favorite. Here in Minnesota we are 31 degrees, I don’t envy you the 14 degrees but it sounds like that cold weather is coming our way.

    1. Thanks so much Dana! I love that tape measure Washi too! Sounds like it’s warm where you are for this time of year! Spring will be here before you know it! πŸ™‚

  4. Justin, What a fun card! I love everything about it. Your post cracked me up… it’s 14 here this morning aund that’s just not necessary. Move to south Texas where I live and you can leave that top down almost everyday!
    Sending warm thoughts your way

    1. Hi Deba!
Thank you! I don’t think that 14 degrees is necessary! LOL! That’s just too cold! Hmm… top down every day sounds nice to me! Thanks for the warmth! πŸ™‚

  5. Cute, love the measuring tape washi tape. I’m with you on the spring countdown, somwhere around 80. We have ice and snow coming our way. Can hardly wait!

    1. Thanks Linda! Yup, that measuring tape washi is fun! 80 sounds good to me too! πŸ™‚
