Paper Players 276

Sorry about the random post that got sent out last night from 2012! I can’t explain how that happened! I guess like Grace said the blog wanted to take a walk down memory lane! Hopefully that won’t happen again! I had a nice day yesterday with my friend Sue. We chatted and got some more stuff ready for Etsy. For lunch we went to the deli in East Meadow and had sandwiches and then we stopped in Marshall’s. I got a Chelsea Football Gym Sac, some new slippers and some Jelly Belly Jellybeans! When I got home I had dinner with my parent’s and then came to my houseΒ and crafted for a bit before working on the blog update again. Hopefully I will finish that today and have the new look ready to go by tomorrow!

My inspiration for my craftiness last night was this week’s Paper Players challenge. I wanted to thank Amy for making me her Headliner for the last challenge! You can see the winner’s post HERE and my original post HERE! Now on to this week…

Paper Players #276

That’s a nice fun and simple challenge! My card base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock and the background is a piece of paper from the Crate Paper Kiss Kiss 6×6 Paper Pad. I used a bunch of different dies to create my greeting. The Happy is from the Simon Says Stamp Happy Winter and Snow Craft Die and the birthday is from the Papertrey Ink Wonderful Words: Birthday Die. They are both cut out from a piece of American Crafts Black Glitter Paper that is adhered to a piece of Black 110lb with some Stick-It. The 21 is cut out from some Adhesive Cork Sheet that I adhered to a piece of Solar White 80lb and cut out with the Papertrey Ink By the Numbers Dies. My th is cut from some more of the cork using the Papertrey Ink Block Alphabet Dies. The panel is a piece of Watermelon Wonder that is cut out with the Papertrey Ink Spiral Notebook Die, it’s adhered to the card with Fun Foam and SNAIL. I used Multi-Matte Medium to adhere all of the greeting. I like the nice pop of black along with the subtleness of the cork against the bright notebook page and fun background! I hope that you enjoyed my card for this week’s Paper Players Theme challenge from Joanne! Thank you for taking some time to come by and see me! Have an interesting Thursday! πŸ™‚

  1. Good Morning Justin!
I’m loving this card. It just pops “happy” at you. You may not realize it but your background paper is the same design as a quilt. Unfortunately the name of the design escapes me but I have seen many quilts like it. Very difficult to make in fabric, much easier in paper I’m sure. LOL I just love the glitter papers – it would be nice if they would come down in price. Oh, by the way…..I checked at JoAnn’s yesterday and they had very, very little Washi paper. When I inquired as to why the salesgirl said she had no idea. I guess I’ll have to get up to Michael’s and see what they have. I did pick up some spray adhesive at JoAnn’s. Tell me Justin, how do you manage to spray the backs of your card stock without getting it all over the place? Did you make a spray booth from a box or something?

Not to worry about yesterdays glitch. I actually thought it was kind of funny! You have yourself a Terrific day and perhaps a Thirsty Thursday tonight. Love ya, XO πŸ™‚

    1. Hi Grace!
Thank you! I know what you are talking about with the background paper reminding you of a quilt! Love those! I will keep my eye out for the washi! I do use a box to spray my parts, I should go outside and do it but…
I was so surprised when I got the email about the post! Sometimes the gremlins get the better of things! LOL! Yes, Thirsty Thursday was great! Love you too! XOXO πŸ™‚

  5. I love your card Justin! The cork numbers are fab – haven’t seen you use cork for a while and its texture looks great against the coral and that fun background paper and provides a great contrast to the black lettering.
