Paper Players 279

Yesterday was nice and sunny which helped melt some more of the snow! I went to the Dr. in the morning with Brian so Heather could get her shot. After that we went to the Deli and got some lunch and from there Brian dropped us back at Heather’s. She was waiting for the mattress to be delivered and when it came it was way too high with the boxspring so that has to go back. She had missed Lucifer on Monday so we watched that. I ran home to pick something up around 4:00 and then headed over to Scrap-A-Latte to see Renee for a bit. From there it was back home for some dinner and a little craftiness.

My card that I have to share with you today is for this week’s Paper Players sketch challenge…

Paper Players #279

The card base is Ivory 110lb Card Stock. The strip of paper down the left is a piece from the Pebbles Yours Truly 6×6 Paper Pad. I used the Simon Says Stamp XOXO Border Craft Die to cut out some Black 110lb and that’s adhered along the lower half with Multi-Matte Medium. Another piece of Ivory 110lb is cut out with the Simon Says Stamp Stitched Circles Dies and adhered to the card with Foam Tape. Some more Black 100lb is cut out with the Simon Says Stamp Scribble Heart and Arrow Craft Dies and also adhered to the card with Multi-Matte Medium. My greeting is from the Simon Says Stamp Paper Hug Photopolymer Stamp Set and is stamped in Onyx Black on a piece of Primrose Petals with the right side flagged. It’s adhered to the card with Foam Tape along with a black heart on the left. I added some Glossy Accents to the heart to make it pop. A few Pretty Pink Posh Onyx Sequins and “Vintage” 2013-2014 In-Color Sequins complete the card. I love that patterned paper and the nice pops of the black against the ivory! I hope that you enjoyed my cardΒ for this week’s Paper Players sketch challenge! Thank you for taking some time to stop by and visit today! Have a terrific Thursday! πŸ™‚

  1. Love that scribble heart and how you tied it together with the x’s and o’s. Great valentine!

  2. Gorgeous, Justin! A real CAS beauty. Love all the white space, the sketchy heart, and the row of xo’s as a sketch element. Well done!

  3. Nothing says “love” better than X & O (well, maybe a box of chocolates LOL). This card has a lot going on and yet it maintains a perfect amount of CAS. Not sure how that happened but it did and I love it!

Justin – how do you decide what weight card stock to use where on a card or do you just wing it? Have you had any problems with the 110 lb. not creasing cleanly when you fold it? You combined several weights card stock on this card but all on the slightly heavier side and it seems to work out perfectly for you.

The sun is shining here today and a lot of the snow has melted which tells me we are due for another one soon. Mother Nature likes to fool us by getting the snow melted only to dump more on us. That’s O.K. with me, we are used to it. You have yourself a Thursday that you will Treasure. Love and hugs – XOXO πŸ™‚

    1. Ha ha! Yes, XO is good but a box of chocolates is always better Grace! I do try to impress you whenever I can! Thanks!
I always tend to lean towards heavier card stock, always for the base and whenever I need a piece that is a frame or some kind of die cut. I use a teflon bone folder and a score board and I never have issues, I do if I use a traditional bone folder so I know what you mean. Hope that helps!
Yes, we had a nice sunny day here too! The snow is slowly melting, lots of puddles everywhere! But that’s ok! Yes, you are use to your snow and you love it, have as much as you want! LOL! I hope that you enjoyed your Thursday and that you have a super Friday! Love and Hugs to you! XOXO πŸ™‚
