SIP Challenge 31 – Birthday!

I had a very low key Monday. I FacetTimed with Andrea in the morning and then took a ride over to Scrap-A-Latte to go over next month’s class with Renee. A bunch of the ladies were there scrapping the day away and Angie was playing with Renee’s new Cricut Explore Air. They were cutting out embellishments for pages. Boy do they require a lot of assembly! After that I came home and UPS delivered my new Vacuum! I got it on HSN for a great price after my Dyson died. I had it for 6 years but I would expect a $400 vacuum to last longer than that! This time I got a Hoover Windtunnel Air and boy does it have some impressive power! The woman in the video on HSN actually had the vacuum stick to the ceiling! You have to take a look at the live presentation videoย HERE! I was sold! LOL! After dinner I watched a little TV and then made a quick card. Today I’m going over to see my friend Sue and then this evening I’m going to head into Manhattan and stay at Kim’s so I can be there in the morning for Time Warner. A nice little mid-week break from the Island!

Tuesday and we have another Stamp, Ink, Paper Challenge for you! This time it’s birthdays…

SIP Challenge 31 - Birthday Theme 800

My card base is Neenah Solar White 11olb Card Stock, I covered the front with a piece of Black 110lb. The patterned paper is from the American Crafts DIY 6×6 Pad and is cut out with the Simon Says Stamp Postage Stamp Edge Craft Dies. I adhered it on slight angle to the card with Fun Foam and SNAIL. Another piece of Black 110lb is cut out with the Simon Says Stamp Birthday Frame Craft Die and that too is adhered to the card at a slight angle. The balloons piecesย of Recollections Red, Gold and Aqua Glitter Paper cut out with the Simon Says Stamp Balloons Craft Dies. The gold and red one are adhered with SNAIL and the Aqua one with Foam Tape. A piece of Ivory 110lb is cut out with one of the other diesย from the Birthday Frame and adhered to the card with more Foam Tape. I added some Wink of Stella Clear Glitter Brush Pen and a few Pretty Pink Posh Gold Sequins to balance the bottom of the frame. I love the sparkle on the glitter paper and the background paper makes my want to sing! LOL! I hope that you enjoyed my Design Team card for this week’s Stamp, Ink, Paper Birthday Theme Challenge! 1. Be still my heart! Look at those glitter balloons – I mean really, could there be anything better then glitter balloons on a birthday card? Heck no. And then, to plop them right smack in the middle of that SS birthday frame is oh so perfect! Can you tell I love this card Justin? LOL

Super cold here today so I think I’ll stay in and do some serious housework. I’ve been avoiding that since the holidays but now it’s time to get the old body in gear and make things sparkle once more. Sounds like you are going to have a great day Justin so enjoy every minute of it. Love and hugs to keep you warm my friend. XO ๐Ÿ™‚

    1. Thank you so much Grace!! I love that Glitter Paper from Michael’s and the frames are some of my favorite dies!
It was very cold here yesterday too. The wind made it even colder! I need to do some cleaning when I get home today too. I had a very nice evening and am looking forward to a leisurely morning! Love and hugs to you! XOXO ๐Ÿ™‚

  2. Hi Justin,

Great card!! Love the balloons and the Postage Stamp Edge and the Birthday frame! You have the greatest dies.

    1. Hey Gerri!
Thank you so much! I do love that Postage Stamp Edge and the Birthday Frame! Simon does have some really great dies! Have a super day! ๐Ÿ™‚

  3. Love the colorful glittery balloons against the black and white. So fun! And could be for male or female, with the change of “boy”. TFS

  4. Love this! Love the black window frame, off sets everything beautifully. do you like the Recollections glitter paper. I love the different colors, but I think it is thicker then norm, yet your balloons look like they die cut well. Heat wave here, 14 degrees. Thrilled tomorow is hump day

    1. Thanks so much Linda! I love that Recollections Glitter Paper! I actually think that it’s a little thinner! Wow! 14 huh?! I think with the wind chill here last night it was about 5! Have a great day my friend! ๐Ÿ™‚

  5. Great card, Justin! Love the different glittered papers you used and that musical background paper is so fun! Hope you & Winston are staying warm amidst this cold blast of winter.

    1. Thanks very much Christy! We are definitely doing our best to stay warm and I hope that you are too! ๐Ÿ™‚

  6. When I saw today’s design, I thought . . . celebration filled with song and fun! Great design that conveys a festive feeling, Justin! Plus, I *love* dies and glitter paper.

    1. Although we have a few vacuums, I forgot to mention that I bought a Panasonic vacuum in 1986 that kept working until late last year. We did get another vacuum to replace the Panasonic, but my husband wants to try to fix it. It’s a challenge for him! The problem that he’s having is that he can’t find a replacement part for an o-ring that got brittle and fell apart. 6 years!?! They just don’t make things like they used to.

      1. WOW! That sounds like a really good vacuum El! I would want to try and fix the old one too! LOL! They definitely don’t make things like they use to that’s for sure! I hope he finds his part! ๐Ÿ™‚
