TGIF Challenges 37

It’s the weekend peeps and it’s going to be a wet one here. They are saying that we are to have some rain today into tomorrow morning with the worst of it ending by mid-day Sunday. Looks like a good weekend to be crafty! I went to see Star Wars – The Force Awakens with Brian yesterday morning and it was awesome! Lots of battles, a great story and incredible special effects! I will definitely have to see that one again in the theaters! On a historic note, I went to see the movie in the same theater that I saw the original Star Wars with my dad and brother in when I was 7! When I got home I saw Daniel for a bit and then FaceTimed with Andrea while I made my card for today. After dinner I had a relaxing evening with the TV and some coffee, a good way to end a Friday!

Andrea and I both decided that we would enter the TGIF Challenges for this week, they have a fun sketch…

TGIF 37

I knew exactly what I was going to do as soon as I saw this one! The card base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock with the front covered in a piece of Black 110lb. For the background I used some Wendy Vecchi Gold Embossing Paste along with the Simon Says Stamp Falling Stars Stencil on a piece of Night of Navy. It’s adhered to the card with SNAIL. Down in the right corner is a piece of Gold Glimmer Paper that I cut out with the Simon Says Stamp Painted Hello Die along with a piece of Black 110lb. They are adhered to each other with Multi-Matte Medium. I then punchedΒ out two circles with the 3/4′ Circle Punch and adhered a strand of DMC Gold Thread in between them with a Glue Dot. The circle is then adhered to the card with another Glue Dot and the hello with some more Multi-Matte Medium. A few Pretty Pink Posh Gold Sequins scattered amongst the stars complete the card! I love the way that the gold embossing paste looks against the navy card stock and that hello die is still one of my faves! I hope that you enjoyed my card for the TGIF Challenge sketch! Thank you for coming by and I wish you all a stupendous Saturday! πŸ™‚

  1. So Justin, you still had Star Wars on your mind when you made this gorgeous card! Thankfully you didn’t have any wars going on between the stars, just the peaceful beauty of Night of Navy combined with gold glimmer. It really is an exceptionally beautiful card and reminds me of the start of the original Star Wars movie where you saw the vast universe before your eyes.

We have the same weather forecast you have except this morning the sun is shining but it’s snowing anyway. Kind of crazy. Tomorrow we are supposed to get seriously heavy rains with high winds and the forecasters said they expect power outages. I hope they are wrong but we are prepared if they aren’t. I hope you have a Super Saturday my friend. Love and hugs, XO πŸ™‚

    1. Yes Grace, I guess I did! Now that you mention it is does look a little like the opening screen!
It actually turned out to be not such a bad day here yesterday but it’s raining this morning and warm. I hope that you don’t loose power! Stay safe my friend! XOXO πŸ™‚

  3. Oh…very elegant, love it. Deal, I’ll trade you rain for snow. Looking at about 4 inches, I know its January but I’m done. and now the temps drop.

I have gone thru my basket of new goodies, it is overflowing. So i am determined to use a couple of these new goodies
