Winter Jingle Birthday

So… you may notice that the blog looks a little different today?! Well, I finally got some time to play around with the new template that I got oh so long ago and I started to get it set up! There are still some things that I need to figure out but it’s functional and that’s all I can hope for for the time being! LOL! When you come to the home page by typing jkcardsonline.com into your browser you will get the new and improved home page! The first thing that you should see are the last three posts and under that is my little about me blurb and at the bottom is the store. If you have any issues with the site please let me know in the comments! I appreciate it!

Yesterday I was very productive and crafty! I got a bunch of cards made in the morning and then I headed over to Scrap-A-Latte in the afternoon to drop off the samples for next week’s class. Renee is away at CHA and Angie was minding the store, her hubby was there so we chatted for a bit. They both found out what a fountain of useless information I am, Marty was doing a crossword and asking for answers, I had them! LOL! I came home briefly and then stopped by my friend Maureen’s for a bit. HerΒ son and his friend were painting the bathroom, such a fun smell! From there I came home and worked on my card for today and fiddled around with the blog.

Speaking of my card, it’s a nice simple birthday one for today! The base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. My background is a piece of paper from the Doodlebug Polar Pals 6×6 Paper Pad. I used the Simon Says Stamp Jingle Snowflakes Craft Die to cut out three pieces of Solar White 80lb and adhered them to each other and the card with Elmer’s Multi-Purpose Spray Adhesive. Along the bottom is a thin strip of Gold Glimmer Paper and a strip of White that I stamped my greeting from the Simon Says Stamp Birthday Messages Photopolymer Stamp Set in Simon Says Stamp Surf Blue Ink. A few Pretty Pink Posh Gold Sequins around the die cut finish the card. I do love the simplicity of the card and that die cut is just cool! Get it, snowflakes, cool! LOL! I hope that you enjoyed my card for today! Thanks so much for stopping by and let me know what you think of the new blog design! Have a super duper Sunday! πŸ™‚

  1. Justin, this card is fantastic! I love the musical notes die coupled with the snowflakes! Just figures that I placed an order with SSS this week…guess it is time for another order. Your new blog template looks great also. Have a happy Sunday!

    1. Thank you Roseanne! I wanted that die for a while, works great for a winter birthday! I always see things that I “forgot” LOL! Glad that you like the new bog look too! Have a great day! πŸ™‚

  2. Very cool card, Justin! Love the colors you used and the diecut is fantastic! The new blog template is fun – learned something new about you as I did not know that Winston was a mini schnauzer. My girl, Lexi, is a mini schnauzer as well. πŸ™‚

    1. Thanks so much Christy! Glad that you like the new blog! Yup, my buddy Winston is a Mini! He is such a good dog! And since you have one too you know that! πŸ™‚

  3. Hi Justin:

I miss the photo background on the blog. I do however, love today’s card and I really love the fact that the little bitty strip of gold glitter paper really made this card super pretty. Just beautiful and one of these days you need to tell us your little secret about how you organize and store your dies.

I think the new blog look is going to take a little getting used to. I do like that it seems extremely organized and now I’m going to go check out all the parts of it. You have yourself a Simply Superb Sunday my friend. Love and tons of hugs, XOXO πŸ™‚

    1. Hello Grace!
I will figure out how to get the picture behind the blog again, I miss it too. Thank you! Sometimes all you need is a little sparkle and it changes the whole card! I organized my stamps and dies like Jennifer McGuire does, in stamps storage pockets.
I hope that you like the new blog, it’s what I have wanted for a while. It is more organized and I will be able to add new features to it in the coming months. I hope that you enjoyed your Sunday, mine was pretty good! Love and hugs to you! XOXO πŸ™‚

  4. Love the card….I have that die…now to get going with it! Sorry, but I like your old ‘blog’ better…the headline on this one keeps popping down and taking up half the page…. have to continually keep scrolling to read anything… besides, I liked the background on the other one….

    1. Thanks Careen! The die is great! I fixed the headline so that it doesn’t scroll down anymore and I will find a way to get the background back again, thanks for the feedback! πŸ™‚

  5. Love the cool diecut and card! You are so creative! I agree with Careen about the header popping down on the blog post. I read on my iPad and there’s not enough room left after the header to see the whole card picture, much less reading the description while looking at it, and I can’t zoom in on the picture now. (I come to see your awesome cards, not the “staging.”) I do like the clean look and feel of the new layout and having the last couple posts as quick links. Thanks for sharing your creations!

    1. Thank you very much Susan! The headed is fixed and you should be able to make the picture bigger by clicking on it again. The blog is a work in progress and I appreciate your feedback! πŸ™‚

  6. Love that die! and the card, CAS perfection. I agree about the header popping down, kept having to scroll up to read about your day and the card. I do like the look however.

  7. I really like the new blog look, clean cut, sharp. same with this card, awesome use of this gorgeous die. I completed my two DT projecys yesterday, then played with two new stamps and a matching die. Its Lawn fawn so it didnt make a dent in my new unused plie of goodies, but three goodies were used so I’m happy.

    1. Thanks so much Linda!! The die is awesome, so intricate and detailed! Doesn’t it feel good to use new goodies?! I still have a huge pile to make a dent in! Have a great Monday! πŸ™‚

  8. Love the new template and the card Justin, but i use my tablet so also have the problem of the header following me blocking half the card photo. I am also typing this blind lol because of the header filling the screen.

  9. Very pretty design, Justin. *Love* the die cut! The sequins are a nice touch that complement the notes perfectly.

  10. Love your card Justin, what a cool die! Also love the gold stripe, it really adds to your card. I like your new site. Sometimes when navigating around I get a cute coffee cup and that’s it! If I close and come back, I see all again. I view from an iPad. Love your work and I so enjoy your blog. Thank you. Happy New Year!

    Jaime

    1. Thank you Jamie! The die is fun and the little stripe really completes the card! The coffee cup is instead of you watching the blog load, when it goes away you should see the entire blog. Sorry that you are having troubles. Thank you for letting me know and I’ll see if it’s anything on my end! Happy New Year to you too! Enjoy!! πŸ™‚

  11. Cute card today, Justin. I love the colors and the die. I have been having trouble with the pictures of your cards being blurry when I see it in the blog. If I click on it, it expands too much for my screen but the picture is clear. It was never like this with the old blog a couple of weeks ago or so. Just thought I’d mention it because I love your designs and creativity.

    1. Thanks HJ! Are you looking at the blog on a computer or tablet? I didn’t change anything with the pictures so I’m a little concerned. Have a super day! πŸ™‚

  12. Fancy new digs Justin – fabulous new blog! Terrific card too! The DSP adds interest but doesn’t steal the show from the musical elements. Love the splashes of gold.

    1. Thanks so much Dana! Glad that you like the new look! So happy that you enjoyed the card too! Have a great day! πŸ™‚

  13. Thanks, Justin, for getting back to me. I use a computer. Your cards are blurry but when I click on them they are clear but larger than my screen. I get blogs from another person, who changed her blog recently and I get the blurry pictures there as well. Any help you can give me to fix it on my end would definitely be appreciated. I have to admit that I’m computer illiterate, which doesn’t help me. Thanks so much.

    1. Welcome HJ. I have checked the blog on a few different computers and the images are fine on them. I’ll have to think about it and see if I can come up with anything. Don’t want you to see blurry pictures! πŸ™‚
