Freshly Made Sketches 225

Hmm… what’s today? Well, I think that it’s Friday! YAY! Yes, it’s still my favorite day of the week and probably always will be! I had a Doctor filled day with Heather yesterday. We went for her consult in the morning and then some x-rays and a further consult. After that we had Subway and then it was off for an MRI and CT Scan. I said to her with all of the radiation she had she should glow in the dark last night! When I got home I FaceTimed with Andrea for a bit before I went over to my parent’s for dinner with Daniel and my brother. Daniel didn’t want any of his dinner except for the breadstick! He can be such a fussy butt sometimes! Some TV was on the menu for last night and my mum text me to tell me that Kelly Clarkson was on American Idol and was going to sing so I turned it on. She sang Piece by Piece and Keith Urban and I both cried! It was such a sad song, but I love when music can move you like that. Today I’ll be crafting, lots of goodies to get made and a nice way to spend a Friday!

My card that I have to share with you today is for this week’s Freshly Made Sketches challenge…

Freshly Made Sketches 225

I needed to just stamp! My card base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. The set that I used for all of my flowers and leaves is the Hero Arts Color Layering For You Flowers Photopolymer Stamp Set. I heat embossed what would normally be the top image in Ranger Gold Embossing Powder onto Solar White 80lb and adhered that to the card to serve as my background. What would usually be the middle layer is stamped in Hero Arts Light to Dark Peach Ombre Ink with the leaves stamped in Hero Arts Lime to Forever Green Ombre Ink randomly on some more Solar White 80lb. I backed it with a piece of Crisp Cantaloupe and adhered it to the card with Fun Foam and E-Z Runner Adhesive. My greeting is the Hero Arts A Bit of Kindness Wood Mount stamped again in the Light to Dark Peach Ombre and backed with a piece of Lucky Limeade. Some more Fun Foam and E-Z Runner adheres that to the card. I had to add some Pretty Pink Posh Gold, Tangerine and Lime Sorbet Sequins to give the card a little bit of sparkle! It felt good to just stamp and use a color layering set in a different way too! I hope that you like my card for this week’s Freshly Made Sketches challenge! Thank you very much for stopping by for a little Friday fun! Have a fantastic day! 🙂

  1. Hey Justin, what a pretty card this is – and it fits my mood. I lost my Dad on Tuesday after a brutal 3 year battle with cancer. The fact that we all knew it was coming doesn’t make it any easier 🙁 Your lovely card does brighten my day! I haven’t made a card in forever, and I haven’t had a chance to drop in and say hi to you. I hope poor Heather is doing ok, sounds like she’s having a rough time! Cheers Justin xx

      1. So sorry that you have lost your Dad Kelly. Three years is a long time to battle and it takes everything out of you. At least he is not in pain any longer but know that he will always be with you in spirit. Remember the wonderful times.

    1. Hello Kelly! I’m so sorry to hear about your dad. I’m sure that it wasn’t easy but just think of all of the good times and fond memories that you have instead of the last three years. I’ll bet that you had some wonderful times together! In your memories he’ll always be with you. Glad that my card brightened your day! I hope that you get to make some cards soon, I find that it helps me get through a lot of things. Heather is a bit of a mess at the moment but she’ll be fine. Hugs to you my friend! XOXO 🙂

    1. Hello Michael! Thank you! LOL! Nah, I think there is enough peach on there! Ha! Funny guy! 🙂

  2. Great card Justin. It just screams Spring! Gee, I wonder what my favorite part of it is? Could it be the Gold embossed flowers? Hmmmmm, I wonder! This would be a terrific card for a swap. I really like it a lot.

So sorry that Heather is going through so much right now but so glad she has a friend like you who will be with her every step of the way. I hope you know how very important that is. You have yourself a Fabulous Friday and enjoy all this sunshine! Luv and hugs to you my friend! XXOO 🙂

    1. Thank you Grace! Yes, we need Spring ASAP! I thought that using the flowers separately was a fun way to change things up a bit!
