SIP Challenge 34 – Love!

Happy Tuesday peeps! We got some more snow here, it actually started snowing early yesterday morning and still hasn’t stopped! Ugh! Enough with the snow already! LOL! I had a nice day yesterday with my friend Sue! We got lots more stuff ready for Etsy and had a nice lunch at the Deli. I came home and had dinner with my Parents and then FaceTimed with Andrea while I made my card for today. Before calling it a night I watched a little TV to have a little wind down. I’ll be back over to Sue’s tomorrow to finish up!

Its time for another Stamp, Ink, Paper Challenge! This week we have a timely Love theme…

SIP Challenge 34 - Love 800

Just in time for Sunday! My card base today is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. I used a piece of paper from the Recollections Valentine’s Day 6×6 Paper Pad to make my banner. The heart is some Tim Holtz Watercolor Card that I heat embossed my sentiment onto from the Simon Says Stamp Paper Hug Photopolymer Stamp Set with some Hero Arts White Embossing Powder. The heart is then cut out with the Lawn Fawn Fawn Hearts Stackables Lawn Cuts. I used Candied Apple Distress Ink to watercolor the card, making the greeting stand out. A little spritz with my Mini Mister and then some paper towel to pick it up and the heart is finished. I adhered it to the card with Fun Foam and SNAIL. The little gold hearts are cut from Gold Foil Sheet using the Simon Says Stamp Mini Hearts Outline Wafer Dies. I adhered them to the card with 2-Way Glue. I love the watercolored heart and the tiny outline hearts are so neat! I hope that you enjoyed my Design Team card for this week’s Stamp, Ink, Paper Love Theme Challenge! We hope to see some of your cards in the gallery and for a little extra inspiration check out the rest of the Team’s cards over on the BLOG! Thanks for stopping by today, enjoy your Tuesday! 🙂

Mojo Monday 434

I thoroughly enjoyed my Sunday! Breakfast was delicious, Heather makes one superb omelette! We ran to Target and BJ’s, not the best idea on Super Bowl Sunday! LOL! Long lines but what can you do?! I came home around 2:00 and worked on my card for today. I had to go and retrieve Brian and Kim from the airport at 6:00 so I left my house around 5:20. They took a while to get through immigration but jetBlue has some really comfy seats where you wait for them to come out so I took a little nap! I was back home by 8:00, had some dinner and watched the Super Bowl Half-Time Show, pretty good! Today I’m off to see my friend Sue!

It’s Monday and that means time for this week’s Mojo Monday Sketch

Mojo434

My card today starts off with a base of Ivory 110lb Card Stock. I used the Simon Says Stamp Stitched Rectangles to cut out a piece of Pink Pirouette for the background and adhered it with SNAIL. The piece of paper is from the Heidi Swapp Hello Today 4 1/2 x 6 1/2 Paper Pad and I used the Lawn Fawn 4 Bar Stitched Rectangles to cut it out, running it through twice to get the narrower rectangle. It’s adhered to the card with Fun Foam and SNAIL. Next I used the Petal Cut Peonies Dies from The Ton to cut out two pieces of Night of Navy. Some Elmer’s Multi-Purpose Spray Adhesive holds them to the card. My thanks is from the Simon Says Stamp Thanks Photopolymer Stamp Set and is stamped in Simon Says Stamp Teeny Bikini Ink on some more Ivory 110lb. I flagged the left side and adhered it to the card with Foam Tape. My butterfly is from Recollections, I pushed it into my Simon Says Stamp Lake Shores Ink Pad to color it then into Versa-Mark. I added Simon Says Stamp Clear Fine Detail Embossing Powder and heated it with my Heat Tool, dipping it and reheating it a few times before adhering it to the banner with Multi-Matte Medium. Some Studio Calico Wood Stars and Pretty Pink Posh Marshmallow, Sand, Aquamarine and Pink Blush Sequins are adhered to the panel with Multi-Matte Medium and complete the card! I do love those flower dies form The Ton and the Wood Stars are still a favorite too! I hope that you enjoyed my Design Team card for this week’s Mojo Monday Sketch Challenge! Head on over to the BLOG and check out the rest of the Team’s inspiration that they have for you so you can enter a card in the gallery! Thank you very much for starting your week off with me! Hi there! I hope that you are all having a nice weekend! I had a good Saturday! I headed into Manhattan to hang at The Ink Pad with Barbara for the day. My friend Kim came down and met me for lunch, we ate fresh! I also got a few new goodies from a recent order that they got in! I’ll share some of those with you this week! When I got home I had a sandwich for dinner and then just chilled for the rest of the evening. This morning I’m having breakfast with Heather and then we will run a few errands. I think it will be a lazy Sunday!

My project that I have for you today is not a card. When I was at Scrap-A-Latte the other day I played with some of the copious amount of Mixed Media supplies that they have. I actually finished the project on Friday and even had the frame for it! The base of the project is Chipboard that I coated with Ranger Studio Gesso. While that dried I used the Tim Holtz Alterations Mixed Media Thinlits to cut out some 80lb Neenah Card Stock to use as a stencil. Some Ranger Opaque Texture Paste is applied with a palette knife over the stencil that I created in the upper right and lower left corners. Once that dried I mixed up Broken China, Evergreen Bough, Picket Fence and Black Soot Distress Paint with water and applied it over most of the surface of the project. When that was dry I coated it with Multi-Matte Medium to seal it. Some more Multi-Matte Medium is used to adhere a card from the Idea-Ology Thrift Shop Ephemera Pack and then more over the top of it. The cage is cut out using the Tim Holtz Caged Bird Bigz Die from more chipboard and coated with Gesso and then Multi-Matte Medium so I could apply some Distress Rock Candy Glitter over it. I cut out a piece of Black 110lb with a tags punch and adhered a stamp from the same Ephemera Pack to it with Multi-Matte Medium. A piece May Arts Twine is tied through the top and adhered to the back of the piece. I adhered the cage with Foam Tape along with the Kind that is stamped in Onyx Black Ink using the Concord & 9th Being Classy Photopolymer Stamp Set and cut out with the Coordinating Dies. Down in the lower left are some Prima Flowers and Leaves. I inserted it into a black frame and than completed the project. I had a lot of fun creating the piece and enjoyed it a lot more than I thought I would! I hope that you enjoyed today’s project and are inspired to try something different too! Thank you very much for coming by today! Have a subtle Sunday! 🙂

Freshly Made Sketches 222

And Saturday! It was an interesting day here yesterday, we got another foot of snow. This time it was that heavy wet snow, the kind that makes the tree branches hang down. I went over to my parent’s in the morning to wait for Daniel to be dropped off, they had an appointment. When Erika dropped him off we spent some time looking out the window and discussing the fact that I hate snow and Daniel loves it! LOL! Once they got back we had some lunch and then I ventured out to the Deli and brought Heather some lunch. I spent the afternoon over there researching some stuff while she worked. The snow stopped around 1:30 and the sun came out. Thankfully the roads were mostly clear. After dinner I got ready to go to Adelphi University in Garden City for the Sing Strong Aca-Idol Competition. Andrew’s group Satellite Lane performed along with nine other groups. They were all fantastic! This morning I’m off to The Ink Pad to spend the day with Barbara! What’s on for you today?

My card that I have for today is for this week’s Freshly Made Sketches challenge…

Freshly Made Sketches 222

I have had this journaling card sitting on my desk for a few weeks and decided that I would finally get to use it! My card starts off with a base of Ivory 110lb Card Stock. I used the We R Memory Keepers Corner Chomper to round all four corners on the card base. Across the bottom is a strip of Blushing Bride. The journaling card is from the My Mind’s Eye Fancy That Collection and is adhered to the card with Fun Foam and SNAIL. I cut the congratulations out of some Gold Foil Sheet and another piece of Ivory 110lb. They are adhered to each other with Elmer’s Multi-Purpose Spray Adhesive and to the card with Multi-Matte Medium. I added a few Pretty Pink Posh Gold and Ballerina Pink Sequins to finish the card. I love the gold foil accents in the journaling card and the congratulations looks really cool cut out of the Gold Foil Sheet! I hope that you like my card for this week’s Freshly Made Sketches challenge! Thank you so much for visiting with me today! Have a super Saturday! 🙂

Fab Friday 80

Happy Friday! I got some of my organizing done yesterday and then got sucked into Ellen videos on YouTube! I finally pulled myself away to go and have some dinner with Daniel and my parents. After that it was more Ellen on YouTube and then off to Heather’s for thirsty Thursday. Kim and Brian FaceTimed me from St. Lucia. Boy does it look really nice there! That has to go on my to visit list for sure! We watched Lip Sync Battle, always funny! It’s snowing here again this morning but is supposed to clear up by later on this afternoon and we may even see some sun!

After our little break over the Holidays it’s time once again for Fab Friday! This time we have some colors just in time for Valentine’s Day…

Fab Fri 80 2-05-2016

I always forget about Watermelon Wonder! LOL! My card base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. I used the Lawn Fawn 4 Bar Stitched Rectangles to cut out a piece of paper from the “Vintage” Stacked with Love Designer Series Paper Stack and adhered it to the card with Fun Foam and SNAIL. I also used the 4 Bar Stitched Rectangles to cut out some Real Red and adhered that to the Designer Series Paper with Multi-Matte Medium. My three hearts are cut out with the Lawn Fawn Stitched Heart Stackables Lawn Cuts from Watermelon Wonder and Blushing Bride and adhered to the card with Foam Tape. For a little more “Vintage” I cut out more Watermelon Wonder and Blushing Bride with the Chevrons form the Circle Card Thinlits and adhered them to the card with more Foam Tape. The greeting is a piece of Black 110lb cut out with the Lawn Fawn I Love You Border Lawn Cut and adhered across the hearts with Multi-Matte Medium. Finally I added some Pretty Pink Posh Onyx, Raspberry and Marshmallow Sequins. I love the clean collage look of the card and that I Love You is really cool! I hope that you enjoyed my Design Team card for the Fab Friday Color Challenge! Head on over to the blog and see what the rest of the Team has come up with and enter your card in the gallery! Paper Players 280

Yesterday was a long day! The airport in the morning, Scrap-A-Latte for a bit, over to see my friend Sue and then take Heather to the train. I’m not gonna lie, I’m a little tired! It also rained here most of the day but it was warm so no complaints. Today I need to get some organizing done and then tonight is thirsty Thursday!

For my card today I have used this week’s Paper Players Tic-Tac-Toe board for inspiration…

Paper Players #280

I want to thank Hannelle for choosing me as her Cut Above for last week’s challenge! You can see the winner’s post HERE and my original post HERE!

The card base for today is Neenah Solar White 110lb cut to 3 1/2″ wide. I cut a piece of Tim Holtz Watercolor Card to 3 1/4″ wide and used my Mini Ink Blending Tool and some Tumbled Glass, Wild Honey and Worn Lipstick Distress Ink to create the somewhat evening sky looking background. It’s spritzed with some water and then adhered to the card with SNAIL. My bird and branch are form the Hero Arts Color Layering Dimensional Bird Photopolymer Stamp Set. The outline is stamped in Onyx Black Ink and I used Simon Says Stamp Rosie Cheeks, Teeny Bikini, Schoolhouse Red, Duckling, Slate and Khaki Ink to fill in the colors. For the eye I used a Sakura Black Gel Pen and Uni White Gel Pen. He is cut out with the coordinating Dies and adhered to the card with Multi-Matte Medium And Foam Tape. The greeting is from the Hero Arts Thanks Stamp & Cut Set and is also stamped in Onyx Black. A little shower of Pretty Pink Posh Sparkling Clear Sequins from the top right completes the card. So, I went down the middle row! I love that bird and the easy way that you can add different colors to him! I hope that you like my card for this week’s Paper Players Tic-Tac-Toe challenge! Thanks so much for stopping by. Enjoy your Thursday! 🙂

Paper Craft Crew 180

Well, I was up nice and early this morning, 4:00am to be exact! I went and picked up Brian and Kim and took them to JFK. An hour round trip, not bad at all! Yesterday after I took Sandy to the airport with Andrew we came back to my house and did a little research on some things that I’m looking to get rid of for a friend. For lunch we went to Monty’s for pizza and then came back to the house and watched Lucifer, I really do love that show! After dinner Heather stopped by and picked me up, we ran to Target and Petco to pick up some things. We stopped back at my house so I could get my car and I went to her house to chill for a bit. Louis stopped by later and by the time I got home it was 12:30am! I think I see a nap in my future! LOL! I have to go and open the store for Renee this morning and then I’m going over to see Sue for a bit. Another fun filled Wednesday!

Today I’m over on the Paper Craft Crew blog for this week’s sketch challenge…

PCCCS180 DT Sketch 2-03-2016

I needed some bright colors and the inspiration for the card is the Patterned Paper! My card base is Ivory 110lb Card Stock. I used the Simon Says Stamp Stitched Squares to cut out a piece of Night of Navy, ran through the Big Shot twice to get the rectangle, and a piece of paper from the Crate Paper Flea Market 6×6 Paper Pad. The patterned paper is adhered to the card with Fun Foam and SNAIL. All of the stamped images are from the Simon Says Stamp Lovely Spring Photopolymer Stamp Set. They are stamped on Ivory 110lb and cut out with the Coordinating Lovely Day Craft Dies. I used Simon Says Stamp Catkin Ink for the wreath and leaves, Rosie Cheeks for the heart and flower at the top, Teeny Bikini for the flower at the bottom and Mint Candy for the greeting banner. They are adhered with Foam Tape and SNAIL. I added a few Pearls to the flowers and some Pretty Pink Posh Blue Lagoon, Ballerina Pink and Sparkling Clear Sequins complete the card! I love the fun mix of colors and I think the patterned paper is a nice contrast to the stamped images! I hope that you enjoyed my Design Team card for this week’s Paper Craft Crew sketch challenge! Stop by the blog to check out the rest of the Team’s cards and enter yours in the gallery! Thank you, as always, for coming to visit with me! Have a fun Wednesday! 🙂

SIP Challenge 33 – Colors!

Hello everyone and welcome to Tuesday! It was a lovely warm day here yesterday, it got up into the 50’s! That I can definitely get use to! I’m sure that it won’t last for long so I will relish it while I can! I had a relatively productive morning. I got to speak to my Aunt Shirley in England on FaceTime for a bit and then crafted with Andrea over FaceTime. I use FaceTime a lot! Taylor came by with Kiera in the afternoon and we all had dinner at my parent’s. My shows were on last night, the X-Files and Lucifer and both were great! This morning Andrew is coming by and we are going to take Sandy to the airport and then work on researching some stuff. I haven’t seen him in ages so it will be good to spend some time together!

It’s time for another Stamp, Ink, Paper Challenge and this week we have a timely color combo for you…

SIP Challenge 33 - Colors 800

I love the colors and wanted to do a little watercoloring! I have had this idea in my head for a while so I thought that it was time to get it out! The card base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock with the front covered in a piece of Black 110lb. I used a piece of Tim Holtz Watercolor Card taped down with Blue Painter’s Tape to a board for my “canvas”. I laid down a heart die and watercolored the heart staying about 1/4″ inside the die. For the heart I mixed some Royal Langnickel Crimson Red with some White and dried it with my Heat Tool. I added some more white on top and then used Prussian Blue mixed with White to paint around the heart. I dried that with my Heat Tool too. The gold hearts are painted freehand using Fintec Pharaonen Gold. I trimmed down the panel and adhered it to the card with Fun Foam and SNAIL. The hello is cut from Black 110lb using the Simon Says Stamp Painted Hello Craft Die. I adhered them to each other and the card using Elmer’s Multi-Purpose Spray Adhesive. The love is from the Simon Says Stamp Cute Snowflakes Photopolymer Stamp Set and is stamped in Onyx Black Ink. I love the way the blue really makes the red heart pop and those Finetec Watercolors are amazing! I hope that you enjoyed my Design Team card for this week’s Stamp, Ink, Paper Color Challenge! Take a quick click over to the BLOG and see what the rest of the Team has come up with and share your card with us in the gallery! Thank you so much for visiting today! Have a thoroughly wonderful Tuesday! 🙂

Mojo Monday 433

And we’re off to the start of another week and a new month! I had a very productive day yesterday! I helped my dad do the brakes on his truck in the morning and also got through my mountain of laundry. I also straightened up around the house and got a few crafty things done. Today I have some more organizing to do and I also have to make a plan as to what I’m going to with life in general! Pretty broad description but it needs to be done. I have a few airport runs to make this week dropping people off as they head off on vacation. I’m thinking that one day they will be nice enough to have me tag along! LOL!

The start of the week means another fun sketch from Mojo Monday

Mojo433

This card all began with the thought that I wanted to use a specific patterned paper! The card base for today is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock with the front covered in a piece of Black 110lb. I used the We R Memory Keepers Next Level Woven 3D Embossing Folder on a piece of Blushing Bride for the background. Next up is a piece of paper from the Crate Paper Kiss, Kiss 6×6 Paper Pad that I cut out with the Simon Says Stamp Stitched Squares Craft Dies and adhered to the card with Fun Foam and SNAIL. Across the lower half of the card is a piece of Basic Gray adhered with more SNAIL. My square is a piece of Black 110lb that is also cut out with the Stitched Squares and is adhered with more Fun Foam and SNAIL. The flowers are from the Simon Says Stamp with Altenew Layered Flowers Photopolymer Stamp Set. I used my MISTI to stamp them in Simon Says Stamp Rosy Cheeks, Teeny Bikini and Slate Ink with the leaves stamped in Khaki and Slate. They are cut out with my Paper Snips. I placed them where I wanted and used a piece of Glad Press ‘n Seal to pick them up. Some SNAIL and Foam Tape is added to the back and then they are all adhered in place and the Press ‘n Seal is removed. Makes it a lot easier than trying to remember exactly where you had them! Thanks Jennifer McGuire for the tip! My greeting is cut from more Black 110lb using the Simon Says Stamp Painted Hello Craft Die. Some Multi-Matte Medium adheres it in place! I love the texture that the Woven 3D Embossing Folder gives the card and the layered flowers go so well with the patterned paper! I hope that you enjoyed my card for this week’s Mojo Monday Sketch Challenge! Stop by the BLOG and check out the rest of the Team’s cards and don’t forget to share your creation with us! Thanks for starting another week off with me! It’s always great to see you here! Have a magnificent Monday! 🙂
