Paper Craft Crew 181

It turned out to be a really nice day here yesterday! The sun was shining and I went over to Sue’s to do some more Etsy stuff. We had Panera for lunch and got loads of stuff done! I love a nice productive day! When I got home Daniel was at my parent’s and he was in a bad mood so I came home and Taylor and Keira stopped by. They took Winston to Michaels, he got lots of attention! Here he is sitting in the cart…

They even put a blanket in there. They also decided that they would take him for the night to Keira’s house, Taylor got him a new baby so I couldn’t say no. I have to admit, I miss him being the door monitor! I did stop back over at the ‘rents for some chili and Daniel was in a much better mood, I even got a big hug and a kiss along with an I love you so much Uncle Justin, doesn’t get better than that! The rest of the evening I had quality time with Chip and Joanna on Fixer Upper.

Wednesday and it’s time for this week’s Paper Craft Crew sketch…

PCCCS181 DT Sketch 2-11-2016

I needed a card that had nothing to do with Valentine’s day! LOL! The card base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. I used some Heidi Swapp Citron Color Shine to splatter on the card front. Across the bottom is a piece of Black 110lb with a piece of Washi Tape across the bottom and on top of that is a piece of Craft Smith Holiday Glitter Paper. My panel is a piece of Tim Holtz Watercolor Card, I heat embossed the phrase from the Simon Says Stamp One with Nature Photopolymer Stamp Set in Simon Says Stamp Clear Fine Detail Embossing Powder. It’s stamped repeatedly and offset a bit. Then it was time for some Mermaid Lagoon Distress Ink that I applied with a Mini Ink Blending Tool. The leaves and tree are from the same set and are also heat embossed on Watercolor Card in Clear. I used Twisted Citron Distress Ink to watercolor the images and then used the Coordinating Dies to cut them out. Some SNAIL adheres all of the greenery to the card. My greeting is cut from Black 110lb three times with the Simon Says Stamp Sunshine Wafer Die and adhered together with Elmer’s Multi-Purpose Spray Adhesive, some Multi-Matte Medium adheres it to the card. To give it a little sparkle I adhered some Pretty Pink Posh Ocean Spray and Green from the Christmas Mix Sequins to the panel. I always love a little spatter and the Distress Ink is so great to work with, you can do so much with it! I hope that you enjoyed my Design Team card for this week’s Paper Craft Crew sketch challenge! Check out the rest of the Team’s cards over on the blog and enter yours in the gallery! Thank you, as always for stopping by! Have a wicked Wednesday! 🙂

  1. Fantastic card, Justin!! Great use of the sentiment to create the background for your panel. Brings a bit of spring cheer on a cold winter morning! And today will only seem a bit mild in comparison to what is coming over the next few days (we have temps below zero in our future over the weekend – BRR!!!).

    1. Thank you Christy! I did have fun making the card and I do love the background! I needed some warm! Yes, we are to be incredibly cold this weekend! Spring will be here soon! 🙂

  2. HI Justin:

Obviously you are thinking Spring with this fabulous card! I love that Twisted Citron color on the leaves. I only have 2 Tim Holtz distress inks and should probably investigate more of them. That Sunshine die from SSS is really neat also and again, this card reminds me to get out the Washi tape and use it! I have not been good about that at all.

Sounds like Winston is definitely in demand. He is so cute! Only service dogs are allowed in stores in this area because everyone is so conscious of people with allergies. I’m glad to see that they are allowed in some areas as they are family members also. Sounds like Daniel can have some “off” moments which is typical of a child his age and of course he loves his Uncle Justin a ton! What’s not to love?

Have yourself a whimsical Wednesday so that you can smile a lot today. If you wait until the weekend your smile may freeze right on your face. Oh yeah, PUT THE TOP UP ON THE CAR. I know you love having it down but I don’t want you to freeze to death. LOL Love and hugs, XO 🙂

    1. Hello Grace,
Yes, I need to think Spring and warm and no snow! LOL! I love the Distress Inks and Twisted Citron is definitely a fave! I have way too much Washi and need to use it more too!
Yup, Winston is quite popular! Taylor loves him and is pretty good to him! You are not supposed to bring dogs into stores here either but if they are little and not walking around they usually don’t mind. Daniel can be a little crab! Especially when he just wakes up! Aww, thanks Grace, you are too sweet!
I had a nice day and hope you did too! Yup, going to be FREEZING here, not looking forward to it! Can’t put the top down when it’s under 40 degrees, the car won’t let you! It’s smarter that that! LOL! Love and hugs to you my friend! XOXO 🙂

  3. Winston is so cute! and hugs and an I Love You from your nephew is sweet too! I love the card, spring is hopefully around the corner.

    1. Thanks Lynne! Winston and Daniel are two cuties and they like each other too! Glad that you like the card and yes, here is to hoping for an early Spring! 🙂

    1. Thank you Linda! Yes, I’m a fan of Twisted Citron too! Washi Tape, I think everyone has a ton of it, I know I do! Your weather is on it’s way, I told you that I would be ok with you not sharing! 🙂
