Paper Players 283

Did we have some wicked storm here last night! Thunder, lightning and lots of wind! I went over to Heather’s and when I went to leave at 12:00 I had to make a run for the car and sit it in when I got home for a bit. Crazy! Yesterday I did do some more crafting and I went over to Scrap-A-Latte to see Renee for a little while. When I got home I FaceTimed with Andrea and made a card, I also got my cards completed for the Hero Arts class at The Ink Pad, love the way they turned out! While I was at Heather’s last night Michael called and I got to catch up with him. I needed his opinion on a few things and he was very helpful as always. This morning I’m going to take a ride with Heather to the Doctor so she can find out what else can be done about her back. Hopefully she won’t need surgery.

For today’s card I have one for this week’s Paper Players challenge…

Paper Players #283

What a fun challenge! I have a Mama Elephant set that I have been wanting to use and this was just perfect for it! The card base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock and I used my Corner Chomper to round all of the corners. The frame is a piece of Black 110lb cut out with the Mama Elephant Framed Tags – Madison Avenue Creative Cuts. I added a piece of Acetate and a layer of Foam Tape around the frame to create my well for the Pretty Pink Posh Sparkling Clear and Clear Seed Beads that I filled it with. My background is a piece of Solar White 80lb, I stamped the rays from the Mama Elephant Sunny Skies Photopolymer Stamp Set in Simon Says Stamp Duckling Ink. The greeting is from the same set and is stamped in Onyx Black Ink and the panel is adhered to the frame. I then adhered the whole thing to the card with E-Z Runner Adhesive. The balloons and clouds are also from the same set. My balloon is stamped in Simon Says Stamp Surf Blue, the basket in Khaki and the clouds in Smoke. I used the coordinating Creative Cuts to cut them out and then adhered them to the shaker window with Foam Tape. For a little shine I added some Wink of Stella Clear Glitter Brush Pen to the balloon. I love that frame with the scalloped edge and double stitching, the stamp set is fun too! I hope that you enjoyed my card for this week’s Paper Players Challenge! I appreciate you coming by today and I wish you all a terrific Thursday! 🙂

  1. I agree with Michael. It is a very fun card. Love the hot air balloon, the sun rays, the clouds, the sequins and seed beads and the sentiment. All together they make a perfect card. We had a rainy day and thunder and lightning with some heavy rain last night. I hope today is better, but no sun yet. Have a great day.

    1. Thank you HJ! It’s a fun stamp set and I have had it forever! I hope that you the sun finally came out! It was overcast here yesterday but this morning it’s sunny! You have a great day too! 🙂

  2. Is it a card? Is it a picture? This creation could definitely be both Justin! I love the bright yellow striped sky and large sequin-filled frame; this would make me happy to look at it everyday – love the quotation too. Thanks for joining my up, up and away challenge over at The Paper Players this week!

    1. Thank you so much Joanne! What a fun challenge and the stamps were perfect for it! The quote is a great one for sure! I hope that you have a great weekend! 🙂

  3. That double stitched frame die is fabulous! Of course, the entire card is fabulous but I think you already knew that! LOL Your background sun ray stamp is really neat and I can see that being used on any card. Of course, you had to make me jealous by doing yet another gorgeous shaker card. I really, really, really need to use a bit of discipline with myself and try one. I don’t know what is taking me so long!

Yesterday was weird. In the morning we had snow which turned to freezing rain then sometime during the night turned to rain so all the “slush” is gone this morning. The weather people said we would have thunder, lightning and high winds but if we did the hubs and I both slept through it all. Anyway, it’s overcast but warm today. A good day to read a book, do a puzzle or – wait a second – how about make some cards? Yeah. You have yourself a Typical Thursday today – nothing exciting but still very nice! Luv and hugs. XXOO 🙂

    1. Thanks Grace! Yes, I love that frame die! The sun rays are really neat and were a lot easier to stamp than I thought they would be! Yes, you definitely need to try a shaker card!!
We had a lot of wind and rain, the thunder and lightening was pretty neat though! See I don’t mind when it snows and then is going by the morning! I hope that you made some cards!! My Thursday was busy but nice, hope the same is true for you! Love and hugs to you! XOXO 🙂

  4. I love everything about this, Justin! The hot air balloon is awesome, as is the sunburst background. And of course, the sequins!!!

  5. OMG this is too darn cute! Love it. what a great take on the photo, I love the balloon and floating clouds, and o course a shaker. I’m so gld tomorrowis Friday and Spring is making another visit. 50’s on Saturday. Die snow die.

    1. Thanks very much Linda! I think that as long as it’s a shaker you just can’t go wrong! We are supposed to have nice weather this weekend too! I’m with you on the snow! 🙂
