Freshly Made Sketches 227

Howdy peeps! I hope that you are having a lovely weekend! I enjoyed my day in Manhattan yesterday as I always do! I do love waking up at Kim’s and then just takingΒ the subway down to The Ink Pad. It’s always nice to spend the day with Anna, she even bought me some spinach pie for lunch and it was yummy! I took the 8:43 to Seaford and my parents came and picked me up. When I got home I unpacked my stuff and then sat down and made today’s card. I have some errands to run this morning and the fun task of laundry! What’s on for you today?

The card that I made last night is for this week’s Freshly Made Sketches challenge…

Freshly Made Sketches 227

I played around with a new Hero Arts Layering Set! The card base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. I adhered a piece of Scotch Black Glitter Washi Tape down the left side. My background is a piece of Solar White 80lb that I stamped with the Hero Arts Pearl Strings Bold Print Background in Tide Pool Ink. The two goldfish are from the Hero Arts Color Layering Goldfish Photopolymer Stamp Set. They are stamped in Butter Bar and Butter Bar to Orange Soda Ombre Ink. The eyes are stamped in Onyx Black. I took the first later and stamped over the fish with Versa-Mark and heat embossed some Simon Says Stamp Clear Fine Detail Embossing Powder onto them. They are cut out with my Paper Snips as the coordinating dies are on backorder! My greeting is from the same set and is stamped on the background in Onyx Black. I adhered the background to the card with E-Z Runner and Fun Foam and the goldfish with Foam Tape. I love the way the clear embossing adds so much detail to the goldfish! I hope that you enjoyed my card for this week’s Freshly Made Sketches challenge! Thank you very much for your visit today! I wish you all a stupendous Sunday! πŸ™‚

  1. A swimmingly stupendous card, Justin! The embossed fish look fantastic as the embossing definitely adds to the fish scale effect. Seeing your card made me realize that I have yet to order the pearl strings background stamp as it’s been on my wish list for quite some time. Too bad I just put myself on a crafty diet last weekend after organizing my craft room and wanting to “shop my stash.” That’s hard to do!!! LOL Enjoy errand running and laundry today. I will be doing some of the same myself and hope to get some crafty time in as well.

    1. LOL! Thank you Christy! I love the way the embossing really makes the fish pop! That background is great and can be used for so much! I wish I could go on a crafty diet! Hats off to you! We will both be doing the same stuff! Enjoy your day! πŸ™‚

    1. Thank you very much Michael! I think the goldfish are really neat and the clear embossing adds so much! The background is fast becoming a favorite! Have a super day! πŸ™‚

  2. Those goldfish are beautiful, and the background is perfect for them! Love this card!

  3. Hi Justin:

With the shape of those fish you could pretty much use them as Betas as well as Goldfish and yes, the embossing really makes a huge difference. In addition, those fish eyes are the best I’ve seen to date. I should get that set as my daughter Tracy has a nice fish tank in her dining room. I know she would love a card made with that stamp.

Today is race day so that is what I’ll be doing. Sitting my butt in front of the TV and hoping for an exciting race. I’ve prepared some nice snacks to have during the race. The weather is absolutely perfect here today so I intend to head outside for a bit and check out the property to see if we have had any damage during the winter months. I hope you have a Super Sunday my friend. Relax and enjoy! Love & Hugs, XO πŸ™‚

Yes, I think that you are right about the fish! I’ll have to try them in blues! I do love the embossing and the stamp layers do all of the work! It’s a great set!
I hope that you enjoyed your race and your yummy snacks! It was nice here yesterday too, but this morning it’s all rainy and I think it’s supposed to be that way all week. Enjoy!! Love and hugs! XOXO πŸ™‚

Its damp and rainy here, but it beats cold and snow. I really hare this time changer, I feel like I’m playing catch up. I didf get my lawn fawn tote die bag out yesterday and I made little Easter treat bags, now to fill them. Take care

    1. I love those fish! I sent you an email yesterday, I think they still have a set at The Ink Pad and they ship!
