Paper Craft Crew 184

What’s up peeps? How is your week progressing? Mine… can’t complain! I had a nice day at Scrap-A-Latte yesterday. Yesterday was also my dad’s birthday so I made him a fun and simple card using some patterned paper while I was there! I even used the Envelope Punch Board to make the envelope, the card was 5×7, which I think is a first for me! When I got home I started to craft for a bit and then Heather called so I ran over to see her and then did a little more crafting when I got home before calling it a night! Here is the card that I made for my dad, very simple but it definitely describes him!

Dad B'day 2016

I used a bunch of different papers from the PhotoPlay This Guy 12×12 Paper Collection. Isn’t it great when you can make a card with just patterned paper?!

Now on to today’s post! It’s time for this week’s Paper Craft Crew Sketch Challenge

PCCCS184 DT Sketch 3-02-3026

I used some Lawn Fawn… again! I’m really obsessed with their latest release, especially the Lovable Legends set! My card base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. Down the right is a strip of paper from the Lawn Fawn Perfectly Plaid Petite Paper Pad. I used the Lawn Fawn Stitched Circles to cut out a bunch of circles from Solar White 80lb and a piece of Vellum. On some of the circles I used the Lawn Fawn Ocean Waves Borders Lawn Cuts. I then added some Simon Says Stamp Surf Blue and Cloudy Sky ink to them with a Mini Ink Blending Tool. My images and greeting are all from the Lawn Fawn Lovable Legends Photopolymer Stamp Set. The Kraken and ship are stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black and colored in with Copics. I adhered the Kraken in the waves with Foam Tape along with the ship. My greeting is heat embossed in Hero Arts White Embossing powder on Vellum and then mounted to a piece of Basic Gray. Before I adhered all of the pieces to the card with Foam Tape I added two strips, one of Basic Gray and one of Smoky Slate, to lower right. Finally, I scattered some Pretty Pink Posh Charcoal and Marshmallow Sequins across the circles. I really do love that set and it looks so neat all colored in with Copics! I hope that you enjoyed my Design Team card for this week’s Paper Craft Crew Sketch Challenge! Stop by the blog and check out the rest of the Team’s cards and enter yours in the gallery! Thank you for taking some time out of your busy day to come and visit with me! Have a wonderful Wednesday! πŸ™‚

  1. What a great card for your dad–especially the “getting it done” part. Your dad sounds a lot like mine. πŸ™‚ And isn’t it fabulous when the paper does most of the work for you?
Those Lawn Fawn stamps are adorable. The sentiments are hilarious, and your coloring really brings those images to life. They may have to go on my wish list…
Hope you have a fantastic day!

    1. Thanks Leah! Yes, it was the perfect set of words for my dad, he does everything! And I do love when the paper is all that you need! I am in love with Lawn Fawn and they do have some great sentiments! Coloring them in is the best part! I need more copics! I hope that you have an amazing day! πŸ™‚

  2. Oh my, oh my, which card do I comment on first? The card you made for your Dad’s birthday fits my hubby to the tee. I swear, the man can fix anything and do it right. I’m sure your Dad loved it. Today’s card for “the crew” is just the cutest card I’ve seen in a while. I absolute went ga ga over the way you have the vellum on the bottom half of the Kraken so you can see through it. That plaid turquoise paper is so gorgeous and the color is beautifully accented with the smoky gray and black. Fantastic job yet again Justin!

The week is flying by. Lousy weather today – rain, rain, rain. Good day to stay inside and finish up the birthday cards I’m making. Don’t go out and get soaked! LOL You have yourself a wondrous Wednesday my friend. Luv and Hugs, XXOO πŸ™‚
