SIP Challenge 39 – A Sketch from Ginger!

Hi there again! I hope that you had better weather than we did! It was a rainy dreary day here, not a bad for being crafty though! I had to run to UPS to drop off a return to Amazon, FaceTimed with Andrea for a bit when I got back and had some dinner before heading over to see Heather. We watched a little TV and had some wine. A pretty good way to spend a dreary Monday evening! Today I plan to clean a little and get a little more crafty! What’s on for you today?

It’s Tuesday and that means that it’s time for another Stamp, Ink, Paper Challenge! This week we a fun sketch from Ginger…

SIP Sketch Challenge 39 800

My card base starts off with a piece of Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock covered with a piece of Black 110lb. I heat embossed the Simon Says Stamp Falling Snow Background Stamp onto a piece of Basic Gray with Simon Says Stamp Clear Fine Detail Embossing Powder. My Journaling Card, Gold Doily and Love Flag are all from the My Mind’s Eye Fancy That Collection. I adhered the journaling card to the background with E-Z Runner and then added a strip of Gold Foil Sheet that I flagged the right side on. The square is another piece of Black 110lb, I rounded the corners with my Corner Chomper and heat embossed my Mr. & Mrs. from the Simon Says Stamp Congratulations Photopolymer Stamp Set in Gold Stampin’ Emboss Powder. The square is adhered to the card with Fun Foam and E-Z Runner. The flag has a piece of Hemptique Black Hemp Twine tied in a bow thought the holes and is adhered to the square, it’s self adhesive and the same goes for the doily! I heat embossed the heart from the same stamp set in Blushing Bride Stampin’ Emboss Powder three times and used the 1/2″ Circle Punch to punch them out. A little Foam Tape secures them. Some Pretty Pink Posh Gold Sequins are added to give the card even more shine! I do love the journaling card and all of the embellishments from the Fancy That Collection, great colors and fun designs! I hope that you enjoyed my Design Team card for this week’s Stamp, Ink, Paper Challenge! Take a peek at the blog and see what the rest of the Team has to inspire you to create a card to post into the gallery! Thank you very much for coming by today! Have a great Tuesday! πŸ™‚

  1. Beautiful card today, Justin. I love the blushing bride with the gold and black and all the elements you put into this card. We’re having another rainy day. I’m beginning to think I live in London or Seattle. lol Enjoy your day! Mine will be spent crafting. Yay!

    1. Thank you HJ! I like that My Mind’s Eye suite of goodies, the colors in there are fun! LOL! Ya know, it doesn’t rain as much in London as people would have you believe! I hope that you had a fun day crafting! πŸ™‚

  2. Hi Justin! You have got to move closer to me! Just got my internet back. It went out about 8 p.m. last evening and I spent almost 3 hours with the cable company without any good results. They sent a techie here today and he had it fixed in less than 5 minutes! If the techie on the phone had half a brain it could have been taken care of last night! GGGRRRRRR!

Anyway. I found your take on the SIP challenge very interesting. First of all it is supposed to be good luck if it rains on your wedding day and secondly, I love that you used gold. Gold is the color of a 50th anniversary so the card is kind of wishing the newlyweds 50 years of good luck and happiness. Pretty cool.

We are having the rain today. It would have been a great day to spend playing on the internet but it drove me crazy waiting for it to be fixed. Oh well, it’s working now so I’ll shut up. Hope your Tuesday was terrific. Love and hugs, XXOO πŸ™‚

    1. Hello Grace! Ok then! That would be fun! I think that you might get sick of me after a short while! LOL! I don’t think that I could go that long without internet! The people on the phone at the cable company rarely know what to do unfortunately! Usually just a unplug and reset fixes most issues!
I do love that My Mind’s Eye Fancy That suite, I actually found another one of the 6×6 paper pads at Michaels today! It could definitely be an anniversary card!
We had a nice day, the sun kept trying to come out! Sorry that you had no internet but I’m glad that it’s back up! I had a good but quiet day! Love and hugs to you! XOXO πŸ™‚
