Freshly Made Sketches 234

Hi there and a happy Saturday to you! I had yet another fun day at The Ink Pad! Anna was back! It’s was great to see her and despite the circumstances she had a nice trip. She brought me back some really cool prezzies too! So very nice for her to think of me while she was away! I walked over to the Post Office to drop off some packages and then stopped by Chop’t to pick us up lunch. I was fortunate enough to get the 7:11 train home and I went up to Syosset to meet up with some friends for Anthony’s Birthday! It was so much fun to see everyone, my friend Fred was there along with Danielle, her boyfriend Derek, Mum Donna, Sister Stephanie and her boyfriend Matt and my friend Paul! We laughed and celebrated the birthday boy! Can’t wait to make plans with them to go out over the summer! This morning I’m heading back into Manhattan for another lovely day at The Ink Pad with Barbara!

My card that I have for you today is for this week’s Freshly Made Sketches challenge…

Freshly Made Sketches 234

I actually had started to make the card the other day and all I had left to do was to decided what I wanted to do for the sentiment! The card base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. I used the Simon Says Stamp Full Card Triangles Die to cut out a piece of Black 110lb along with the left side cut from Gold Mirror Card. They are adhered to the card with Elmer’s Multi-Purpose Spray Adhesive. My greeting is from the Hero Arts Many Everyday Messages Photopolymer Stamp Set and is heat embossed in Hero Arts White Embossing Powder onto a piece of Real Red that is adhered to the card with Foam Tape. Definitely a very simple card but I love the Gold Mirror triangles inside the Black frame with all of the White along with the nice pop of Red! I hope that you enjoyed my card for this week’s Freshly Made Sketches Challenge! Thanks for visiting with me today! Have an interesting Saturday! 🙂

Fab Friday 86

Another nice day off! I got some more of my stuff accomplished! Feels good to get things done! In the morning I ran Brian to Northport to drop off his truck so he could have all of the Fire Department stuff taken out of it. His new truck is finally coming in a few day so he has to get the old one ready to trade in. From there I dropped him off at home and then stopped by my parent’s to see Daniel, it’s been a while since I have seen him and he is still just as cute as ever! I’m really enjoying the new Ninja Coffee Bar, I made a cappuccino that was excellent and can’t wait to try out some more drinks! This morning I’m off to Manhattan for another day at The Ink Pad. Anna is back so it will be good to see her and I’m working with Barbara! Tonight is my friend Anthony’s birthday get together and I’m hoping that I will be home in time to go for a little while!

It’s time once again for a Fab Friday challenge! This time we have some colors…

Fab Fri 86 4-29-2016

My card base is the usual Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock with the front covered in a piece of Hello Honey. I then trimmed a piece of Soft Sky to 4″ wide and used the Gina Marie Designs Falling Snow Background Die to cut out a piece of Crumb Cake. I tore the piece and then adhered it to the Soft Sky. That is then adhered to the card with Fun Foam and E-Z Runner. I had Googled a beach and when the tide comes in it sometimes leaves a little foam along the shore so I used my Marvy Snow Marker and my Heat Tool to add some. The starfish is from the Picture Perfect Photopolymer Stamp Set and is stamped in Soft Sky and Bermuda Bay. It’s cut out with Scissors and adhered to the card with Foam Tape. For the greeting I used the Simon Says Stamp Painted Hello Craft Die to cut out a piece of Hello Honey and Fun Foam. They are adhered to each other and the card with Multi-Matte Medium. Finally I added a healthy dose of Wink of Stella Clear Glitter Brush Pen to the Starfish. I do think that the “Snow” looks like the foam and that the falling snow looks like bubbles on the sand. You’ll have to let me know if you agree! I hope that you enjoyed my Design Team card for the Fab Friday Color Challenge! Check out the rest of the Team’s projects on the BLOG and enter your creation in the gallery! Thank you for coming by today! Have a fabulous Friday! 🙂

Paper Players 292

Oh did I enjoy my day off yesterday! I got a few projects finished in the morning while FaceTiming with Andrea. My haircut appointment was at 2:00 and I had to stop at the Post Office to drop off a package on my way. Sometimes it feels so good to get a haircut! I even made my next appointment! From there I came back home and watched a few YouTube videos. Heather stopped by at 4:30 and got me so that we could run to Century21. She had to get a dress for a wedding that she has to go to on Friday night and I wanted to get shoes. I have been looking for comfortable ones, sneakers, but I just don’t like the way they look on me! I ended up getting a pair of Converse. Not super comfortable but I do love them! I have also been looking for ways to save money. One big expense for me each month is coffee! I have a Keurig and I go through about 6-8 K-Cups a day! That gets really expensive! I researched the Ninja Auto iQ Coffee Bar and it had some good reviews. It also uses regular ground coffee which is much cheaper than K-Cups so I got one from BJ’s for $129. I have to say that I made a travel mug size with some Starbucks Espresso Roast Coffee and it was quite delicious! I’ll keep trying different things with it and decide if it will help me out with the money savings in the long run! Hopefully it will! Today I’m going to try and run over to see Renee for a bit and then it’s Thirsty Thursday! Can’t wait to see the gang later on!

I got my new Simon Says Stamp Monthly Kit and decided to play with it to make my card for this week’s Paper Players challenge…

Paper Players #292

My card starts off with a base of Neenah Solar White Card Stock. I cut three strips of paper, two from the Lawn Fawn Perfectly Plaid Petite Paper Pad and one from a piece of Soft Sky. They are all adhered to the card with E-Z Runner. The sun, cloud, speech bubble and greeting are all from the Simon Says Stamp Happy Days Photopolymer Stamp Set. I heat embossed the sun and speech bubble on Daffodil Delight and the cloud on Vellum with Hero Arts White Embossing Powder. The greeting is stamped in Onyx Black and I cut them all out with my Scissors. On the cloud and the sun I colored in the cheeks with a Copic and then went over the eyes with a Sakura Black Gel Pen. The cloud is then adhered to the back of the sun and some Kool-Tak Clear Foam Tape and regular Foam Tape adheres them and the speech bubble in place. It needed something else so I added some Pretty Pink Posh Sparkling Clear and Summer Mix Sequins, that definitely helped! LOL! I love the simplicity of all of the images in the stamp set and the really neat little tiny greetings too! I hope that you enjoyed my card for this week’s Paper Players sketch challenge! Thank you for taking a little time out of your busy day to stop by and see me! Have a simply wonderful Thursday! 🙂

Paper Craft Crew 192

Is it Friday yet?! It seems like it should be! LOL! Yesterday was a long day! I did have a nice time at The Ink Pad with Barbara and I got to have my Chop’t salad again! YUM! Class was nice with Caitlyn, if she does another Hand Lettering class I’m definitely going to take it! I got home around 11:00 last night and was done! I could’t wait to crawl into bed! Today I have a lot of my stuff to catch up on. Lot’s of stuff actually! Hope I can get through it all!

Today I’m over on the Paper Craft Crew blog for this week’s sketch challenge…

PCCCS192 DT Sketch 4-27-2016

Yup, there is that Goldfish again! The card base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock and I stamped some of the images from the Hero Arts Color Layering Goldfish Photopolymer Stamp Set in Hero Arts Tide Pool Ink. More of the bubbles are then heat embossed in Hero Arts White Embossing Powder onto a piece of Vellum that I flagged on the right. My goldfish is from the same set and is stamped in Simon Says Stamp Slate and Black Ink and then stamped again with the first layer of the stamp in Versa-Mark and heat embossed in Simon Says Stamp Clear Fine Detail Embossing Powder. My scissors cut him out, although I did finally get the dies! The greeting is from the Hero Arts Many Everyday Messages Photopolymer Stamp Set and heat embossed in more White Embossing Powder onto a piece of Black 110lb. I used E-Z Runner and Foam Tape to adhere everything together and then to attach it to the card. To enhance the bubbles I added some Pretty Pink Posh Ocean Spray and Sparkling Clear Sequins. And I’m still enamored with that goldfish, I do think that I like him in the back the best! I hope that you enjoyed my Design Team card for this week’s Paper Craft Crew Sketch Challenge! Stop by the BLOG to check out the rest of the Team’s cards and enter yours into the gallery! Thanks so much for visiting today! Have a wild Wednesday peeps! 🙂

SIP Challenge 45 – Welcome Baby!

Another interesting day for me in Manhattan! I took the same train that I always do but decided to mix things up a bit and take the Subway from Jamaica Station. Thankfully I got a seat because there were some delays and it took just over an hour. There was also some guy on the train that was singing and dancing around for no good reason. It’s a little crowded in the mornings on the Subway to share your “talents” or lack there of! LOL! I was by myself until 2:00 when Mary came in. A Stampin’ Up! Demo from Wisconsin by the name of Melynn Long stopped by and we had a very nice visit! I made the 7:11 train and stopped by my parents for a bologna sandwich before coming home and wondering on my projects for the evening. Today I’ll be back at The Ink Pad with Barbara and the second Hand-lettering Class so I’ll be at the store until at least 9:30. I enjoyed sitting in on the class last time so I’m sure that it will be fun again!

It’s Stamp, Ink, Paper Challenge time and this week we have a Welcome Baby Theme…

SIP Theme 45 800

I had a pram exactly like that when I was a baby! My card is a very non-traditional one! The base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. I used the Simon Says Stamp Curved Edge Die to cut off the lower right of the card front. The background is a piece of Cherry on Top Designer Series Paper also cut with the Curved Edge Die and adhered to the card with E-Z Runner. I die cut a tag from a piece of Desert Storm 80lb with the Simon Says Stamp Large Tags Dies and tied a piece of Hemptique Natural Hemp Cord through the top. It’s adhered to the card with Fun Foam and E-Z Runner. My fun pickle jar and greeting are from the Unity Stamp Co. In a Pickle Stamp Set. I stamped the pickle jar in Memento Tuxedo Black and used my Copics to color them in. A nice thick coating of Glossy Accents is applied over the “glass” to make it look nice and real! The jar is adhered to the tag with Foam Tape and then the greeting is stamped in Onyx Black in the lower right on the card inside. I think that it’s a nice funny congrats for an expectant mum! I hope that you enjoyed my Design Team card for this week’s Stamp, Ink, Paper Challenge! Head on over to the BLOG and see what the rest of the clever Design Team has come up with to inspire you! Don’t forget to share your card with us in the gallery! Thank you so much for your visit today! Have a superdelicious Tuesday! 🙂

Mojo Monday 445

Off we go into another week! I had a very productive day yesterday but when you try to get too much accomplished things car go awry! I managed to get three cards made, my laundry finished and ran some errands. I even went out to dinner with my parents to Applebee’s. However I forgot to upload my card to the Mojo Monday folder. Almost a perfectly productive day but not without a glitch! Sorry Theresa! Today I’m off to The Ink Pad again for another fun filled day! 🙂

Speaking of Mojo Monday it’s time for this week’s sketch…

Mojo445

We haven’t had a round or square one in a while and I hardly ever make a round card so I went for it! The card base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. I cut two circles using the Simon Says Stamp Nested Circles Dies and scored the top of the back one and cut about a 1/4″ off of the bottom so it would stand up. The top is then adhered with Scor-Tape. Across the middle is a piece of Real Red that I also cut with the Circles Dies so that the edges would be perfect. The Yay! and It’s Your Day are both from the Simon Says Stamp Hello, Beautiful Photopolymer Stamp Set. The Yay! is stamped on the card front using Onyx Black. My square is a piece of paper from the Simple Stories Life in Color 6×6 Paper Pad and it’s cut out with the Simon Says Stamp Stitched Squares Dies. I cut another circle using the Simon Says Stamp Stitched Circles Dies from a piece of Black 110lb and heat embossed some more images from the Stamp Set in Hero Arts White Embossing Powder. The Square, Circle and greeting are adhered to the card with Fun Foam and E-Z Runner. I’m glad that I went with the circle card, it was fun to make! I hope that you enjoyed my Design Team card for this week’s Mojo Monday Sketch Challenge and that you will stop by the BLOG and check out the rest of the Team’s cards and enter your one in the gallery! Thank you for you visit today! Have a nice and easy Monday! 🙂

Sending Love

Yay! It’s Sunday and I’m home! Yes, I sound like a broken record but it turned out to be a beautiful day in Manhattan after a little bit of rain in the morning. It wasn’t raining too hard so I walked down to The Ink Pad. The store was fun as always, I had some Chop’t for lunch again, love that salad! I was on the 7:12 train so I was home by 8:10 and had some leftover pizza at my parent’s before coming home and catching up on some TV. I made my card for today and then happily went to bed! I’m going to try and get some of my projects for the week ahead done today, I have another busy week coming up!

The aforementioned card is another quick one! I saw the background paper while looking through the Stampin’ Galley and that was the inspiration for today’s card! The base is the usual Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. I covered the front in a piece of Night of Navy and then added a panel of Real Red. My background paper is from a pack of cards that I picked ups at TJ Maxx a while ago. I stamped the greeting onto it from the Lawn Fawn You’ve Got Mail Photopolymer Stamp Set in Memento Tuxedo Black and adhered it to the card with Fun Foam and E-Z Runner. My images are from the same set. I heat embossed the mailbox onto a piece of Night of Navy with Hero Arts White Embossing Powder. The envelopes are stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black and the Airmail is stamped in Simon Says Stamp Schoolhouse Red. They are all cut out with the Coordinating Dies. I adhered the mailbox with E-Z Runner and the letters and airmail with Foam Tape. A nice simple card and the heat embossed mailbox saved having to color in the image! I hope that you enjoyed today’s card and thanks for coming by! Have a nice relaxing Sunday peeps! 🙂

Slide Frame Floral Thinking of You

The two longest days of the week are over! Manhattan was just lovely once again, sunny and really warm! I got in early and went for a walk over to the Apple Store on 14th Street to have a look round. After I was finished I went back to The Ink Pad and finally caught up on my comments! I feel so much better! Barbara and I had a good day, we cycled between having the door open and the air conditioner on! I got the same train out to Babylon as I did yesterday and Brian was waiting at the station for me. We had Taco Bell for dinner and class was fun once again! When I got home I had a cup of coffee and then ran over to see my friend Louis for a bit. I got back to my house around 11:45 and made my card for today. This morning I’m off to Manhattan again to spend the day with Barbara! YAY!

I really liked using the Fresh Cut Florals Set so I decided to use it again. My card base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. The photo frame is from the Heidi Swapp Photo Frames Memory Planner Collection and is adhered to the card with Tombo Dot Runner Adhesive. I die cut all of my flowers and leaves using the W Plus 9 Fresh Cut Florals Dies and then stamped them with Simon Says Stamp Rosie Cheeks, Teeny Bikini, Hot Mama, Jellybean and Green Apple Ink using the Fresh Cut Florals Photopolymer Stamp Set. The greeting is from the same set and is stamped on a strip of Solar White 80lb in Onyx Black. I adhered it to the card over the frame with Foam Tape. After arranging my flowers and leaves I picked them up with Press n Seal and added Multi-Matte Medium and Foam Tape to the back and then adhered them over the frame too. A few Pretty Pink Posh Sparkling Clear Sequins are added for some sparkle and the card is done! I really do love that W Plus 9 set and I can’t believe how long it has taken me to use it! I hope that you enjoy today’s card! Thanks for stopping by and have a stupendous Saturday! 🙂

Freshly Made Sketches 233

Oh yes, it’s Friday! Yesterday was a long day! LOL! I took the 8:12 train into Manhattan. I had to run up to 72nd Street and pick up some books for Anna and bring them back to the store. I stopped at Magnolia Bakery and got some cupcakes to give as a thank you for them. After I retrieved the books I headed down to The Ink Pad. Barbara and I had another nice day and the weather was just beautiful! We had sushi for lunch and a little treat of some Pinkberry in the afternoon! I got the 4:56 train out to Babylon and Andrew picked me up at the station. We stopped at Wendy’s and grabbed some dinner. Class was loads of fun like always! Danielle drove me home and we chatted for a bit. I came into the house and sat down to make my card for today and then I was more than ready for bed! I get to do it all over again! Hopefully everything goes smoothly again!

Today I have my card for this week’s Freshly Made Sketches challenge! Before I get to today’s card I want to thank Narelle for choosing me as the King of Clean for her wonderful sketch from last week! You can see the winners post HERE and my original post HERE! Now for this week’s sketch…

Freshly Made Sketches 233

Sometimes something that has been sitting on my desk for a while sparks the entire card! My base today is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. I took a piece of Ivory 110lb and stamped the Hero Arts Designer Woodgrain Background Stamp in Encore Gold Metallic Ink and then coated it with Simon Says Stamp Clear Fine Detail Embossing Powder and heat set it. It’s then cut out with the large banner from the Hero Arts Ribbon Messages Stamp & Cut. I adhered it to the card with Foam Tape and tucked one of the flowers from the The Ton’s Petal Cut Peonies Dies that I colored with my FineTec Metallic Watercolors. My greeting is from the Hero Arts Thanks Stamp & Cut Photopolymer Stamp Set, I stamped the for everything in more Encore Gold Metallic and coated it with some more Clear Embossing Powder. The Thanks is cut from a piece of Pluto Stardream Metallic and adhered to the banner with Multi-Matte Medium. Just a few Pretty Pink Posh Gold Sequins are added and the card is done! I love the flower in the Gold and the Woodgrain Stamped in the Gold and heat embossed is so cool! I hope that you like my card for this week’s Freshly Made Sketches challenge! Thank you very much for your visit today! I have been behind on my comments and I apologize for that but I intend to catch up today! I wish you all a fantastic Friday! 🙂

Paper Players 291

Ok, I’m one tired boy! LOL! I got into Manhattan a little early yesterday, I had to clean up the store from class the night before. I put away the tables and chairs and swept and put all of the displays back. It was a steady day, not too busy but a good flow of people. Barbara and I had Chop’d for lunch, it’s a salad place and you can get all kinds of different ones and it was delicious! I also got a nice walk in since it’s about 10 blocks from the store! I caught the 7:12 home and was back in my house by 8:15. As soon as I got home I stared to do my cutting for class and finished that around 10:30. This morning I have to go in a little early and head uptown to pick up some stuff for the store. I have to leave at 4:45 today to get the train out to Babylon where Andrew is going to pick me up so I can get to Scrap-A-Latte in time for tonight’s card class! Fingers crossed peeps!

If you have a minute and are so inclined my Brother and Sister-in-law have entered Daniel in a contest with Newsday for the cutest little boy on Long Island. You click HERE to go and cast your vote for him! Thanks! Just in case you need a little reminder of just how cute he is…

Now on to today’s card which is for this week’s Paper Players Clean & Simple Butterflies from Sandy

Paper Players #291

I kept mine super Clean & Simple! The card base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock with the front covered in a piece of Crisp Cantaloupe. My main panel is a piece of Solar White 80lb and all of my images and greeting are from the Hero Arts You’re So Lovely Photopolymer Stamp Set. I stamped the flowers and the greeting in Tide Pool and the leaves in Forever Green. The panel is then adhered to the card with Fun Foam and E-Z Runner. My butterfly is from the Hero Arts Color Layering Butterflies and is stamped in Light Peach to Dark Peach Ombre in for the base layer and Unicorn White Pigment ink for the top. I added some Clear Fine Detail Embossing Powder to it and heat set it. The Coordinating Dies cut it out and a thin strip of Foam Tape adheres it to the card. Very simple indeed but I love that butterfly and the fun flowers! I hope that you enjoyed my card for this week’s Paper Players challenge! Thank you for coming by today! Have an amazing Thursday! 🙂
