Freshly Made Sketches 234

Hi there and a happy Saturday to you! I had yet another fun day at The Ink Pad! Anna was back! It’s was great to see her and despite the circumstances she had a nice trip. She brought me back some really cool prezzies too! So very nice for her to think of me while she was away! I walked over to the Post Office to drop off some packages and then stopped by Chop’t to pick us up lunch. I was fortunate enough to get the 7:11 train home and I went up to Syosset to meet up with some friends for Anthony’s Birthday! It was so much fun to see everyone, my friend Fred was there along with Danielle, her boyfriend Derek, Mum Donna, Sister Stephanie and her boyfriend Matt and my friend Paul! We laughed and celebrated the birthday boy! Can’t wait to make plans with them to go out over the summer! This morning I’m heading back into Manhattan for another lovely day at The Ink Pad with Barbara!

My card that I have for you today is for this week’s Freshly Made Sketches challenge…

Freshly Made Sketches 234

I actually had started to make the card the other day and all I had left to do was to decided what I wanted to do for the sentiment! The card base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. I used the Simon Says Stamp Full Card Triangles Die to cut out a piece of Black 110lb along with the left side cut from Gold Mirror Card. They are adhered to the card with Elmer’s Multi-Purpose Spray Adhesive. My greeting is from the Hero Arts Many Everyday Messages Photopolymer Stamp Set and is heat embossed in Hero Arts White Embossing Powder onto a piece of Real Red that is adhered to the card with Foam Tape. Definitely a very simple card but I love the Gold Mirror triangles inside the Black frame with all of the White along with the nice pop of Red! I hope that you enjoyed my card for this week’s Freshly Made Sketches Challenge! Thanks for visiting with me today! Have an interesting Saturday! 🙂

  1. What an interesting card! Those gold mirror pieces are quite eye-catching. You may say “simple”, but it looks like an intriquet (sp?) Construction to my eye.
Happy Birthday, Andrew! Many, many more! More rain expected here…have a wonderful Saturday! Hugs, Nancy

    1. Thank you Nancy! It has a nice simple feel but the gold gives it just a touch of elegance! I’ll pass along your Birthday wishes to Anthony! You enjoy your Saturday! 🙂

  2. WOW, I love the total effect with the die being turned sideways. This really caught my attention. Do you like the spray adhesive for your delicate details. I have it, only used it once, I think I over sprayed my embellishment.

Take care, hubby and son are at Cubs game, I will love my time home alone. I hope mojo visits

    1. Thank you Linda! Yes, the spray adhesive is my favorite for adhering intricate die cuts! You have to be careful, it’s easy to put too much on!
I hope that you had a Mojo filled day and got to get creative!! 🙂

  3. This is a WOW card Justin. Again I love it because less is more. The gold foil paper is a real eye catcher. This would be a perfect design for just about any occasion. All you would have to do is change the color of the inserted triangles and saying. I really like having cards with the “change an element” ability. You really know how to knock them out of the park.

Of course I want you to wish Anthony a Happy Birthday from me also. Hey, I never pass up a chance to say Happy Birthday. The phrase seems to say to me “another year to enjoy life”. I wish you a Super Saturday in Manhattan today. Hopefully it’s a bit warmer there then it is here (40 degrees with some wind right now). I found out there is a great Quilt Store called City Quilts in Chelsea Between 7th and the Avenue of Americas so now I really can’t wait to get back to Manhattan. Between The Ink Pad and City Quilts I’m sure my budget will scream but I don’t care! LOL
Love to you my friend…………XXOO 🙂

    1. Thanks Grace! I think that less is more sometimes too! I really am loving that Gold Mirror Card!
I will pass along your birthday wishes to Anthony! I love that! It definitely does mean another year of life to enjoy! Manhattan was fun, a little cool but nice and sunny! Oh, yes, I have heard of that store! You can’t take it with you! LOL! Love to you too! XOXO 🙂

  4. I love this card, Justin. It is simple with the gold touch of elegance and the pop of red. As Grace said, it would be great to several occasions. I had not seen that triangle die but it makes a great card. Enjoy your Sunday (Saturday is about over by now.)

    1. Thank you HJ! The Triangle background is a fun die, but I looked for it and can’t find it now! They may have discontinued it! Sorry! Sunday is off to a good start! Slept late and have a full pot of coffee! You have a great Sunday too! 🙂

  5. Fantastic card! The geometric pattern adds interest along with the pop of color the sentiment adds. Awesome!!

  6. this is such a perfect card design for any occasion, especially the cards needed for guys. yours is gorgeous with the mirricard and black die cut. do you ever use Stick It! for intricate dies? I’m afraid spray adhesive would end up on much more than my intended target! lol

    1. Thank you so much Debbie! I have used Stick-It but find the release paper hard to get off sometimes. You do have to be careful with spray adhesive but once you get the hang of it it works pretty good! 🙂

  7. Fabulous bold use of the sketch!! LOVE your background with the bit of mirror paper. The sentiment on red is the perfect touch! Thank you for playing along with us at Freshly Made Sketches.

    1. Thank you Kim! Red is always a nice pop on any card! Have a great week! 🙂
