Mojo Monday 449

How was everyone’s weekend? Mine was pretty good except for the water issue in the bathroom yesterday morning! I walked in the carpet was wet along with the bottom of the shower curtain?! I called my neighbor upstairs and he came down and assessed the scene. He decided he knew what it was and got parts and fixed it. I had to shower at my parent’s so I won’t know if he was successful until I get in there today! Hopefully he was! At the store I worked on getting things organized and making some loyalty cards and other design related things. Angie worked on an Art Journaling page that is just awesome and Renee worked on her layouts for classes. Love all of the creativity! I forgot to bring crafty stuff with me so I spent a little time making my card when I got home. It’s hard to know what to bring with you when you leave in the morning! Especially when you are thrown off by a bathroom fiasco! LOL! Today I’ll be getting the rest of the Lawn Fawn order and hopefully some other stuff that I ordered! I’m really having a lot of fun, can you tell?!

Now on to the business at hand! Today’s Mojo Monday Sketch Challenge

Mojo449

I have had the stamp set that I used on today’s card for a L O N G time! It’s ’bout time that I inked it up! My card base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. I used the Lawn Fawn Large Stitched Rectangles Lawn Cuts to cut out a piece of Pink Pirouette and adhered that to the front of the card. My patterned paper is from the Crate Paper Flea Market 6×6 Paper Pad and is cut out with the Lawn Fawn Stitched Squares Lawn Cuts. The strip down the right side is a piece of Midnight Muse on top of a piece of Gold Mirror Card. The square and strip are both adhered to the card with E-Z Runner. My greeting and retro phone are both from the Hero Arts Just Saying Hi Photopolymer Stamp Set. I stamped them both in Onyx Black and heat embossed the phone with Simon Says Stamp Clear Fine Detail Embossing Powder. The phone is cut out with Scissors and a craft knife, I need a little more practice with the knife, and adhered to the card with Foam Tape. When I saw that piece of patterned paper it reminded me of wallpaper from the 50’s so I thought that it went well with the phone! I hope that you like my Design Team card for this week’s Mojo Monday Sketch Challenge! Stop by the BLOG and see what the rest of the Team has come up with to inspire you and add your card to the gallery! Thank you for starting your week off here with me! I wish you all a magnificent Monday! 🙂

  1. Loving the old-fashioned hello card. It’s cute, and a good reminder of simpler ways. So glad you are having a lot of fun. Work is not work when you love what you do – that’s you!

    1. Thanks Carol! I thought that paper was great and went really well with that retro phone! Ahh, simpler times before social media! But if it wasn’t for technology I would get to talk to you! So I’m glad that we have what we do today! I’m loving “work”! Hope your week is off to a good start! 🙂

  2. Hi Justin,
Love this card! The paper is perfect for “an old-fashioned hello”.

    1. Hello Gerri!
Thank you!! Love that paper and of course there is only one piece of it in the pack! LOL! 🙂

  3. Hi Justin:

You did great with your craft knife cutting. I love the phone and remember when we had one like it. Now your phone isn’t just a phone – it’s a map generator, directions giver, face to face conversation with someone, thermometer, etc., etc. I know I’m getting old because I liked it better when a phone was only for conversations, a camera was only for photos, a map was used for directions, etc. LOL This card is gorgeous.

I’ll be catching up on my emails now that I’m back from my vacation in CT. Had a lot of fun with family and friends and my girls took me on a ride on the old Essex Steam Train and a wonderful dinner at The Log Cabin restaurant as a belated Mother’s Day gift. Were your ears ringing because we were talking about what a sweetheart you are? LOL Hope your Monday was marvelous………..mine was sitting in traffic doing 10 miles an hour on I-495 in Massachusetts! GRRRRRR!

    1. Hello Grace!
Welcome back! I have missed you! The cutting with the knife isn’t as good as it should be but not bad for a first attempt! I reminder phones like that too from a much simpler time! Although I really do love my smartphone and don’t know what I would do without it! Glad that you like the card!
I’m so happy that you had a great vacation! The train ride sounds like something I would definitely enjoy! You are too sweet to be saying that I’m a sweetheart! I feel the same way about you guys! Don’t you love traffic! LOL! I sat in some this morning! FUN! NOT! Have a great day! Love and hugs to you! XOXOXO 🙂

  4. Cute, love the DP. Perfect for this image. So sad it was Monday, I had so much fun yesterday paying in my craft room, 5 cards done. Thats a record. Oh well, have to work so I can craft.

    1. Thanks Linda! It’s funky with a definite retro feel to it! I’m glad that you had a productive Sunday! Sort of helps with Monday!
