Paper Players 296

Yesterday may have been the perfect day weather wise! It was in the 80’s with bright sun!! I drove over to the store with top down in the car and no jacket! Renee had a class and it was fun to chat with the ladies that came in. My friend Maggie had seen that I put up on Instagram that I had the We R Memory Keepers 3D Embossing Folders and asked me to mail that to her so I got that all packaged up and sent that out. We had Subway for lunch and I stopped at Aldi to get more Sweet Cream coffee creamer. I spoke to Michael for a bit and Sue too! Angie stopped by towards the end of the day and we laughed taking about kids! I also got to drive back home with the top down! When I got home Daniel was at my parent’s and he was extra sweet and cute! We sat on the front porch and looked at the planes and played catch for a while. Boy do I love that little guy! After dinner I came home and sat down to make my card. I finally got to play with some of the new Lawn Fawn! LOVE all of it!

That card that I made last night is for this week’s Paper Players sketch challenge from Laurie…

Paper Players #296

To start my card I cut out a piece of Canson 140lb Watercolor Paper with the Lawn Fawn Stitched Rectangles Lawn Cuts. I used Tumbled Glass, Salty Ocean, Peacock Feathers and Cracked Pistachio Distress Ink and my Mini Ink Blending Tool to create the main panel for my card. I spritzed a little water on it and blotted it off with a paper towel and then hit it quickly with my Heat Tool to make sure the ink was set. I stamped some of the bubbles in Versa-Mark and covered them with Hero Arts Gold Embossing Powder and heat set them.ย Next I used the Lawn Fawn Stitched Circles Lawn Cuts to cut out the part where the window would go. I put the panelย on the base of Neenah Solar White 110lb and adhered the middle circle to it. On the back of the main panel I used Scor-Tape to adhere a piece of Acetate and then cut out a piece of Fun Foam with the Stitched Circles and adhered that to back with E-Z Runner. My images are from the Lawn Fawn Mermaid for You Photopolymer Stamp Set and are stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black and colored in with my Copics. I added a little Wink of Stella Clear Glitter Brush Pen to the tail of the Merman, his crown and the school of fish. All of the images are then die cut using the Lawn Fawn Mermaid for You Lawn Cuts and adhered to the circle with Multi-Matte Medium. A little sprinklingย of Chunky Gold Glitter and some Iridescent Flat Sequins is added and the the main panel and that is adhered the card base. My greeting is from the Big Scripty Words Photopolymer Stamp Set and is also heat embossed in Hero Arts Gold Embossing Powder. I used the Coordinating Dies to cut out the hello and adhered that to the card with Multi-Matte Medium. Finally the school of fish is adhered with Foam Tape and the card is finished! I really love that ink-blended background and the super cute stamp set is great! I hope that you like my card for this week’s Paper Players Challenge! Your visits are always appreciated and I wish you all a terrific Thursday! ๐Ÿ™‚

  2. Love these mermaids! I made Ariel party invites with them last night. So much fun!! Like what you did with the dude here and the ink background is fab.

    1. Me too Becca! I’ll bet they were cut invites! I was very happy to see that they had a Merman in the set and I’m loving the Ink Blended backgrounds! So much fun to do! ๐Ÿ™‚

  3. Oh Justin – this card is so dang cute and it real started my day with a smile! I love the big scripty word with the word background behind it. It really brings out the dimension of the embossed word. So very cool!

Glad to hear you are having “convertible” weather. We are also but with temperatures a bit lower thank goodness. You start getting into the 80’s and that makes me want to move farther north! LOL Yes I love spring and yes I love fall and winter but summer sometimes gets too hot and humid for me. So happy that you are enjoying going to “work” (if you can call being in a craft store work) every day. You are so fortunate to be having this experience. Love and hugs to you my friend. Have your self a fun filled Thursday. XXOO ๐Ÿ™‚

    1. Yay!! I love it when I make you smile first thing in the morning! The Big Scripty Words are fun!
I’m absolutely loving the weather! I know how you don’t like the heat but I’m definitely ready for it! It is work but mostly fun! Lots of entering and pricing, but that’s all good stuff too! I am very fortunate to be able to do this!! Much love and big hugs to you! XOXO ๐Ÿ™‚

  6. This is a really cute card, Justin. I love the blue background you made. Shakers are a favorite and I need to include them more in my cards. It looks as though you’ll have another couple of “convertible” days before rain on Monday at least here in Delaware. Take care. Have a wonderful weekend.
