Copper Wooden Hip Pop

Now that was a long day! It was sort of overcast for most of it and rained a little here and there but everyday can’t be sunny! Another super busy day at the Stamp, Ink, Paper Store! I had more orders come in and Sue was there to help once again! Some people took the June Lawn Fawn Card Class in the morning and got first dibs on the new goodies! My friend Stephanie stopped by for a bit too! What a nice surprise that was! Sue and I also moved some stuff around to make room for all of the new Hero Arts that came in. Danielle text me at 6:10 to tell me that she was at Blaze Pizza and asked if I wanted anything, yes please! She brought the pizzas to the store and I shared mine with Brian. Last nights class was so much fun! We did it a different way and I think that it went a bit better. They all got packs with all the supplies to make the cards and then went and stamped, colored and cut out what they needed to sitting back down to assemble everything! This month’s cards were not easy ones and every did a fantastic job making them! By the time we were finished it was 10:45! Brain helped clean up and then I stayed and chatted with Danielle until 11:30. Boy do I miss her!! A very long day but so much fun! I’m all set for day two of classes! Can’t wait to share more of the fun!

The card that I have to share with you today is actually one that I made a few days ago! It’s good to have one in my stash just in case! The card base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock with the front covered in a piece of Black 110lb. My background is a piece of Desert Storm 80lb that I heat embossed with the Hero Arts Designer Woodgrain Background Stamp in Hero Arts Copper Embossing Powder. Before adhering it to the card with Fun Foam and E-Z Runner I adhered a strip of Vellum around the left side. All of my images are from the Hero Arts Dapper Dad Photopolymer Stamp Set. I stamped them in Onyx Black on more Desert Storm 80lb and cut them out with the Coordinating Frame Cuts, the greeting is cut out with my Scissors. They are then adhered to the Vellum Strip with Foam Tape. We all know that I love a woodgrain background but embossed in Copper and it gets even better! I hope that you like my simple Father’s Day card for today! Thank you two much for visiting! Have a phenomenal Friday! 🙂

  1. Wow-what a great “guy card”– so many are fishing or tools related but my guy doesn’t fish and sure isn’t Mr Fixit–so this would be PERFECT! As usual, you are a genius. Thanks

    1. Thank you Marsha! Yes, I think there are too many fishing themed cards! I don’t know many guys here that fish! Thanks again and have a super day! 🙂

  2. WOW Justin! I have to say this is one fantastic Father’s Day card! LOL Cracked me up – “you’re a Hip Pop”! LOL Maybe I’m in a silly mood or not quite awake yet but this card is a wonderful combo of sweet and sassy. The type Tracy would make for sure. She has a pretty wry sense of humor.

So glad your class went well last night. I probably would have fallen asleep as soon as I got home with it running so late. The best part of that is it proves you aren’t really pushy about time the way the stamp teachers around here were. It’s nice to relax while taking a class instead of getting all tense because you aren’t working at the speed of sound. I bet you are just a fantastic teacher. I know I learn a lot from you and I’m not even in a class.

Your have yourself a Fun Filled Friday my friend. Love and Hugs, XOO 🙂

    1. Thank you Grace! I like the quirky sentiment, I do love a little sassy! LOL! I could definitely see your daughter liking that!
Yes, class was great! I like to let everyone move at their own pace, you come to have fun not to be rushed! It was a LOOOOONG day and I was glad that I had a card ready! I’m going to try and get one made today while I’m at the store! Lots of new Hero to play with, still waiting on the Pineapple, they were out of it but it should be here next week.
How I wish that you lived close enough to come to class! You enjoy your day!! Love and hugs to you! XOXO 🙂

  3. This is a very fun masculine card with the bling of the copper embossing of the woodgrain background. How clever you are!! Have a wonderful day.

    1. Thanks so much HJ! I LOVE that Copper!! It’s my new gold! LOL! You have a spectacular day my friend! 🙂

  4. Love the copper! The images are great too! Oh, how I would love to live in your area and take your classes. I left my SU demonstrator because the six of us would have to sit around waiting our turn to stamp something or die cut something. She was very impatient with our questions and pushy about selling SU products. I found another lady who is absolutely wonderful and great with her directions and patience. I bet your classes are filled with learning, laughter, love, and fun! Have a fantastic Friday! Hugs, Nancy B

    1. Thanks Nancy! I love that Stamp Set! So many great images! I wish that you all lived close enough to take classes!! That would be awesome! I had 12 people last night and they waited their turns and I walked around helping with the sliders and shakers. You should never be rushed! It’s supposed to be fun and stress free! We definitely do have fun, they always learn something an laughing! All the time! You have an lovely day! 🙂

  5. Gorgeous!!! And so rich with the copper wood background. This is a great masculine card! Personally, if I take a class I prefer having all my items in a bag waiting for me. I think it is smoother and quicker. work at your own pace. Take care

    1. Thank you Linda! I love that Copper EP! I think that the new format worked well, still needs more refining! Hope you enjoyed your weekend! 🙂
