Elegant Feather Thanks

Happy Father’s Day!! To celebrate I’ll be heading out to my Brother’s house in the afternoon with Taylor and the rest of the family! We had a fun day yesterday at the Stamp, Ink, Paper Store! Jen Starr came by to teach a few classes for Scrap-A-Latte using Viva Decor products! The attendees all had a great time and made some amazing projects! I love Jen, she’s such nice and funny person! Angie and I did some rearranging in the store and cleaned up a bit too. All in all a very productive day! I needed some down time when I got home so I watched some clips of Graham Norton on YouTube, he’s a funny guy! What are all of you up to for Father’s Day?!

I made a quick card late last night to share with you today! The card base is the usual Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. I heat embossed one of the large feathers from the Hero Arts Feathers Photopolymer Stamp Set with Hero Arts Clear Ultra Fine Embossing Powder onto a piece of Tim Holtz Watercolor Card. To give it a nice pop of color I applied some Twisted Citron and Mermaid Lagoon Distress Ink with my Mini Ink Blending Tool and then used the Coordinating Dies to cut it out. The thanks and greeting are from the Hero Arts Thanks Stamp & Cut Photopolymer Stamp Set. I die cut the thanks from the same Watercolor Card along with a piece of Fun Foam and adhered them to each other and the card with Elmer’s Multi-Purpose Spray Adhesive. The feather is adhered to the card with E-Z Runner in the middle. I added some Pretty Pink Posh Peacock Feathers and Sparkling Clear Sequins with a few Clear Drops to add some sparkle! I had forgotten about my love of feathers but when I saw this set I just had to have it and I love it in the Distress colors! I hope that you enjoyed my card for today! Thanks for stopping by and Happy Father’s Day once again! 🙂

  1. I love this very simple CAS card today. The colors on the feather and greeting are beautiful and the sequins and clear drops really add some bling! Gotta love some bling! Have a great day with your family. DH and I are spending the day at home. There’s nothing like a quiet day after a busy week.

    1. Thanks HJ! I needed a quick card and I do love a feather and that one os a nice size! Bling, every card can use a little bling! I did have a fantastic day with my family! So nice to spend time with them! Hope you had a great day! 🙂

  2. Good Morning Justin!

Gorgeous CAS card today. I truly do love the colors and the fact that the sequins are so perfectly matched. Of course the clear drops are just magnificent! That word stamp is outstanding on the fun foam. I really have to try that. All in all it really is a spectacular card.

I was in Michael’s yesterday and they have cut their space for stamping items in half. I didn’t see any of the Martha Stewart line at all. AND there wasn’t a single die to be had and only a very limited supply of punches. When I told the cashier how disappointed I was in their stamping department he told me that the demand for other hobby supplies was much larger than the demand for stamping supplies. I don’t believe it! Anyway, I’m glad I didn’t make the trip up to the plaza for stamping stuff or I would have really been annoyed. Fortunately my next stop, Barnes & Nobles, didn’t disappoint me at all.

You have yourself a Fantastic Father’s Day my friend. Enjoy your visit at your brother’s and spending time with your Dad and your daughter. Love and hubs, XXOO 🙂

    1. Hi Grace!
Thank you! I am so into the greens and blues, they are very serene to me! Pretty Pink Posh has sequins in every imaginable color and the Clear Drops are so neat! I love to pop up a die cut word and the Fun Foam is a great way to do it!
Yes, they have done that here too! Good news for me! Renee and I actually got a bunch of paper racks from the dumpster of the one near here! Love some freebies! Paper racks are expensive! There is a decline in demand for Michaels stamping stuff, they don’t carry enough popular stuff. I do love a trip to B&N! I was in the one in Manhattan on Memorial Day! I had a great time at my brother’s! Got to spend a lot of time with Daniel and Taylor! Love to you! XOXOXO 🙂
