Fab Friday 89

Friday, Friday, Friday! Wee! I still loves me some Friday! I had another wonderful day at the Stamp, Ink, Paper Store yesterday! I made a card and finished getting ready for the Stamping 101 Class. Renee got in some cool summer paper from Echo Park and Bella Blvd. and was happily rearrangingย things in the store to put them out. The class last night was great! Everyone left with a better understanding of the different types of stamps and inks that are available and what you can do with them! More people signed up for next week’s Lawn Fawn Card Class as well as the Introduction to Altenew Class the following week! I’m having so much fun!! Today I’m going to get a haircut before I head over to the store. I have to get busy and place more orders!

I did a sneak peek of my card for this week’s Fab Friday sketch on Instagram yesterday! Here is the sketch…

Fab Fri 89 6-10-2016

I turned it sideways and took a few liberties! Well, at least one! LOL! The card base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. I cut out a piece of Gold Mirror Card with the Spellbinders Postage Stamp Dies using my Artisan X-Plorer and then embossed it. Before I adhered it to the card I added two strips of paper, one Tropical Seaย and one Yellow, and then adhered the stamp with E-Z Runner and Fun Foam. All of my images and greeting are from the Hero Arts Kelly’s New York Photopolymer Stamp Set. I stamped the images in Memento Tuxedo Black and then colored them in with Copics. The pretzel has some Signo White Gel Pen added for the salt! They are all cut out with my Scissors and adhered to the card with Dot Runner and Foam Tape. The I Love NY is stamped in Onyx Black on Lemon Lime and punched out with a 1″ Circle Punch. The Greetings from New York City is also stamped in Onyx Black right on the card front. I love all of the fun images and neat greetings in that set! As an added bonus my friend Eva CASE’d my card and made one for her hometown of Portland! Stop by her BLOG and check it out! I hope that you enjoyed my Design Team card for the Fab Friday Sketch Challenge! Stop by the Design Team BLOG and see what my fellow Teammates have come up with and enter yours in the gallery! Thank you for coming by to share in a little bit of my day! Have a fabulous Friday! ๐Ÿ™‚

  1. Hello
    I love this card!!!
this summer I am going on vacation in New York, can you tell me the scrap shop not to miss. Thank you so much!
I wish you a nice day

    1. Hi Magali!
Thank you! You are going to have a great time! You should visit The Ink Pad and say hello to my good friend Anna! There is also Paper Presentation which is a fun store! You’ll have to let me know how your trip is!! You have a wonderful day! ๐Ÿ™‚

  2. OK…seriously…one of your best cards! Love the colors. See what happens when you embrace your inner bright colors?? LOL. Gotta get this set. ASAP! Great job.

    1. Thank you very much Michael! Yes, I need to be a bright color person every once in a while!! Love the set!! Have an awesome day! ๐Ÿ™‚

  3. HI Justin:

Toni-Lynn would go bonkers for this card! I can’t believe what an awesome job you did cutting out the pieces. They really look like they were die cut! I love all the colors together and usually that would not be my style. The gel pen on the pretzel for sale is genius! So glad to hear your Stamping 101 class went well. It only takes making your first card to get you hooked! LOL

The sun is shining but it’s only 60 degrees and the winds are still blowing strong. I’m just crossing my fingers that we don’t lose electricity today. The hubs called last night and thinks he will head for home on Sunday because Monday and Tuesday it’s supposed to rain and pulling that trailer on the highway in rain does not make for a fun drive. You have yourself a Fantastic Friday my friend. Can’t wait to get my order from you. Love and hugs, XXOO ๐Ÿ™‚

    1. Hello Grace!
Thank you! I love the way the card turned out! It was so much fun to put together! The bright colors aren’t really me but they are growing on me! The Class was great! Everyone said that they really enjoyed it!
It’s sunny here but too cold for me! I have shorts and flip flops on again, hoping that it brings the warm back! I think that we are supposed to have bad weather tomorrow and I have to go ad get Heather and George from LGA! That will be fun! LOL! The Hero should be here sometime next week. They are painfully slow!! As are all the companies! Ugh! Enjoy your day!! Love and bug hugs!! XOXO ๐Ÿ™‚

  4. Hi Justin! I love this card. The turquoise is so perfect for the bronze tarnish of the Lady. Bright colors are great! We are vacillating between shorts and leggings here. Right now the rain is sheeting down and the weekend doesn’t look like it will be pretty. I guess we will be complaining soon about heat and humidity! I will stay in my air-conditioned house and try to get my cardstock re-organized depending on how my back holds up. That’s the next thing I have to get fixed! Does it ever end??? You have a super weekend! Hugs, Nancy B

    1. Hello Nancy!
Thank you! We are doing the same here! I need a steady weather pattern! LOL! This morning it’s sunny, later on torrential rain! I promise that I will not complain about the heat!! I hope that you get all of your stuff done! Nope, it never does end! LOL! Hope you have a great weekend too! XO ๐Ÿ™‚

  5. Hi Grace! I will keep your husband in my good thoughts as he makes his way home to you. Nancy B
    P. S. Justin — I do love the idea of what you did to salt the pretzel. Nancy B

    1. Thanks Nancy. I hate when he insists on taking the 1928 Ford in the trailer. I’m also glad to see you post, I was beginning to worry about you.

  6. OMG! LOVE THIS!!!! You need to make a Chicago card! Fussy cut everything? you are good or crazy, maybe both????

    1. YAY! Thanks so much Linda! They have a Chicago stamp, I’ll have to see if they have a set too! Yup, love to fussy cut! Probably a little of both! ๐Ÿ˜›

  7. Very cool design, Justin! Love the placement of the design elements, and the NYC highlights are *so* fun!

    1. Thanks El! That was one of my favorite cards that I have made of late and someone else has it and is hopefully enjoying it! ๐Ÿ™‚
