Freshly Made Sketches 241

What day is today?! LOL! It was another late night at the Stamp, Ink, Paper Store with the second night of the June Lawn Fawn Card Class! Night two was just as much fun! We all had a great time and my friend Maggie came all the way out from Manhattan to take the class! I picked her up at the train station and then dropped her off before heading home for the evening. I do so love to get see all of the talented card makers and newbies making the cards and letting me know which ones are their favorites! I think that it was a tie between the shaker and the slider this month! We also tried a new format for getting the cards done, I think it worked better than previous months but I’ll have to see what the feedback is from the classes. After all, it’s all about making it a great experience for the people that take the class! Today we have Jen Starr coming to teach a few classes for Scrap-A-Latte, I’m looking forward to seeing her! She’s a great teacher and a really funny person!

The card thatย I have for you today is my card for this week’s Freshly Made Sketches challenge…

Freshly Made Sketches 241

I stamped and die cit my images at the store and then put the card together when I got home last night! Myย card base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. I embossed a piece of Soft Sky with the We R Memory Keepers Waves Next Level 3D Embossing Folder and adhered that to the card with E-Z Runner. Across the bottom is a piece of Pacific Point with the sentiment from the Hero Arts Color Layering Seahorse Photopolymer Stamp Set heat embossed in Hero Arts White Embossing Powder. That too is adhered to the card with E-Z Runner. The images are from the same stamp set, I stamped the seahorse in Soft Pool, Pool and Deep Ocean, the large shell in Soft Brown and Cup O Joe and the small one in Wet Cement and Butter Bar. They are all cut out with the Coordinating Frame Cuts and adhered to the card with Foam Tape. It needed just a little sparkle so I added a few Pretty Pink Posh Sand, Aquamarine and Sparkling Clear Sequins. I love the Hero Arts Color Layering sets and the new 4 packs of ink that coordinate perfectly with them are great too! I hope that you like my card for this week’s Freshly Made Sketches challenge! Thank you for coming by today! I wish you all the best Saturday ever! ๐Ÿ™‚

  1. Another cute, fun card, Justin. I love the 3-D EF, the color layering of the seahorse and shell. I hope you’ll share the cards from the classes. I love shaker cards and but have never made a slider. Have a great Saturday! I think the weather is going to be gorgeous! Yay!

    1. Thanks HJ! I love those 3D Folders and the Seahorse Set is cool! I will share the cards, just so busy at the store, had orders to do over the weekend and actually down time! We are having great weather here! ๐Ÿ™‚

  2. Good Morning Justin:

I love seahorses and have spent hours just watching them at Mystic Aquarium when I lived in Connecticut. They are absolutely beautiful and graceful animals (fish ?). Funny I loved watching them but never really read up on them. I thin I was afraid I would read something negative about them and I didn’t want to burst my bubble. LOL Anyway, back to the fabulous card you made for today…..

I have seen this set before but didn’t take a second look. Now that I see what you have done with it I have put it on my “wish” list for future purchase. Isn’t it wonderful that Hero Arts had the foresight to make up those coordinating ink packs to go with their sets? I just love it and they beat out everyone else with the concept.

You have yourself a Satisfying Saturday. The weather here is as perfect as perfect can be and I’m heading out to enjoy it. Love and hugs to you my friend. XXOO ๐Ÿ™‚

    1. Hello Grace!
Playing catchup once again! I too am a fan of Seahorses! I love the way they just sort of float in the water. I think they are considered fish! I think that it’s neat that the father’s carry the babies! There is a new fact for you!Thank you!
I really do love all of the Hero Color Layering Sets, they are so much fun to play with! The Ink Packs are a great idea for sure! I have old a lot of them!
I had a great weekend, hope you did too! Yes, get out and enjoy the weather! Love and hugs to you! XOXOXO ๐Ÿ™‚

  3. Hi Justin~~Great projects as usual, and I am excited for you with your new “career” with a retail venture. Have not seen much Stampin Up sets, so guess you may be letting that go. Best wishes on your new path, and all your samples are wonderful!!

    1. Hello Claudia!
Thank you! I am loving my new job! Lots of work but so much fun! I love sharing my knowledge with everyone and making them see how easy it is to be creative! I have outgrown Stampin’ Up! a little. Still love their stuff but I need to focus on things that I can sell! Thanks again! ๐Ÿ™‚

  4. Is your Stamp, Ink Paper Store an actual store front or just online. I was trying to find it but couldn’t come up with anything.

    1. The Stamp, Ink, Paper Store is in West Babylon, NY Susan! I will have an online store eventually but I didn’t want to take away from the in store experience that I want to give my customers! ๐Ÿ™‚

  5. What a fun card Justin! Love that background! Those waves look so real! I love the little seahorse! Thanks for joining us this week at Freshly Made Sketches!
