Mojo Monday 452

Another weekend for the books. It was day two of the crop and I managed to get a bunch of stuff done while I was at the Stamp, Ink, Paper store despite my sleeping very late! By the way, the new Sleep Number bed… extremely comfortable! I do have a lot of fun seeing the ladies put together their layouts and I like sharing my cards with them. In fact I sold a card in the morning! We all discussed the tragic news of the shooting at the nightclub in Orlando. I have stopped trying to figure out the world that we live in. I make the most of every day, you never know what can happen. When you really take time to think about what goes on all over this planet it’s pretty sad. My thoughts and prayers are with the families and victims of that senseless tragedy. I hope that things like this make you hug your family and friends a little tighter for just a little bit longer. Now on to happier things, like placing orders and keeping people crafty! That’s what I’ll be doing!

Today I’m over on the Mojo Monday blog for this week’s sketch…

Mojo452

I had stamped my fish on Saturday and decided that he really needed to be on a card, that’s where today’s card began. The base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. I cut out the Waffle Flower Doily Circle Die from a piece of Deep Blue and adhered it to the card with Elmer’s Multi-Purpose Spray Adhesive. My larger panel is a piece of Snow Cone that I cut out with the Lawn Fawn Cross Stitched Squares Lawn Cuts. I adhered it to the card with Fun Foam and E-Z Runner. A strip of Gold Mirror Card is cut out with a die that I found in a drawer in the back, how’s that for a description?! I adhered that to the main panel with Dot Runner and Foam Tape. My greeting is from the Hero Arts Hello Gorgeous Photopolymer Stamp Set and it’s heat embossed in Hero Arts Gold Embossing Powder on a piece of Deep Blue also cut out with the Cross Stitched Squares. I added some bubbles from the Hero Arts Color Layering Goldfish Photopolymer Stamp Set and then adhered it to the card with E-Z Runner and Foam Tape. The goldfish is from the same set and is stamped in Red Royal and Memento Tuxedo Black. I stamped the first layer over the image with Versa-Mark and then heat embossed it in Hero Arts Clear Ultra Fine Embossing Powder. The seaweed is stamped in Hero Arts Green Apple Hybrid Ink and the bubbles in Unicorn White. I adhered the goldfish to the card with Foam Tape and then added some Pretty Pink Posh Sparkling Clear Sequins… done! That goldfish is still a favorite of mine and he looks good in so many different colors! I hope that you enjoyed my Design Team card for this week’s Mojo Monday Sketch Challenge! Make sure that you stop by the BLOG and see the rest of the Team’s cards and don’t forget to enter yours in the gallery! Thank you so much for starting another week off with me!! Have a peaceful Monday my friends! 🙂

  1. Hi Justin,
Yes, it is a shame that people have to act this way. I don’t understand why people can’t just let other folks live their lifestyle, and mind their own business. Not for me to judge either.
Anyway, cute card as always. Actually, last couple of weeks your cards were great! Just don’t get a chance to respond.
I was wondering, is there any chance of you carrying Dies by Dave? Thought it might be easier for you to get in an order, since you now own a store of your own. LOL!!!! I can never seem to get through. Always tells me website down, try later. Seeing what maybe you can do! Thanks for all you do!!!!! Hugs, Donna 🙂

    1. Hello Donna!
Indeed it is a shame that people think they have the right to decide if people live or die. I think that if everyone worried more about themselves and less about what others do it would be a better place.
Glad that you enjoyed the card! I think that getting to be crafty more often is a big plus!
I don’t think that I can carry Dies By Dave. He sells through his own site only and it’s down because Stampin’ Up! keeps going after him. I don’t know why, he sells more stamp sets for them! You have a fantastic day! Hugs to too! 🙂

  2. Yes, another senseless tragedy. My heart goes out to the victims, the wounded and their families. As you say, the best thing to do is to make the most of each day. We never know what will happen next.

Another fun and interesting card, Justin. You never cease to amaze me with how creative you are in being able to put together interesting elements and they all work, like the doily die as the base. It is a perfect element to go with this cute fish card. I love the sentiment with the embossed bubbles. If I tried to put something together like this, it would just be a hot mess! Have a great Monday to start your week!

    1. It’s just so sad to think that there are people out there will never get to spend time with their son or daughter, etc. because some moron thinks that he has the right to kill people. 🙁
Glad that you like card HJ! I thought that the doily looked a little like a net! Mean I know! LOL! Sometimes my cards are a hot mess you just don’t get to see those ones! LOL! Have a fantastic day my friend! 🙂

  3. Justin,
LOVE this card!!! I love every card that you make with this goldfish! Sequins for bubbles are perfect. Die cut Doily is beautiful.

    1. Thank you Gerri! I am a big fan of the Goldfish! That Doily is a fun die, so nice and intricate! 🙂

    1. Thank you Micdhelle! Sequins make pretty good air bubbles, but then I think that sequins work for everything! LOL! 🙂

  4. Good Morning Justin!

Love that goldfish! I would never have thought to use the doily as a net but it certainly does work like a charm. Of course, looking at this fantastic card without mentioning the sequin bubbles and the impact they make, would be derelict! Just one more fabulous card to add to your fabulous collection! Do you still sell your cards on a website and, if so, please post the site so we can all gain access to it.

It’s chilly, rainy and yukky here today. I’m almost tempted to turn the heat on since it’s only 62 in the house but I hesitate – we have the A/C units in the windows and I don’t want the heat going outside. Guess I’ll just put on a sweatshirt to keep comfortable. The hubs is back – Hooray! He had a wonderful trip and got to see lots of old friends. Of course he loves driving his old truck in parades – can’t wipe the smile off his face when he is showing it off.

I hope you have a Marvelous Monday and that you enjoy every minute of your day. Love and hugs, XXOO 🙂

    1. Hello Grace!
Me too Grace! The Doily looks a bit like a net… is that mean?! LOL! Love my sequins! Sell the cards in the store, there wasn’t much interest in them on the blog unfortunately.
It was pretty nice here yesterday! It has been really windy but sunny! I had a sweatshirt on all day yesterday! Yay! Gad that hubby is back safe and sound! I’m sure he does and he should be proud! My dad has 1964 Ford Crown Victoria LTD and he used to take it to car shows all the time!
Hope you had a good day and warmed up! Love and hugs back to you! 🙂

  5. Love today’s card with its colors and sequin bubbles. Sometimes a hot mess can be a good thing, like a great bowl of chili!
People are so filled with hate these days — they need to learn to stamp! Shameful and very sad when there are so many things to be so happy about.
Grace, glad hubs came home safely!
Hugs and love to you all! Nancy B

    1. Thanks so much Nancy! LOL! Yes, a hot mess bowl of chili can be good, not so much with a card!
We live in a world filled with hate and it’s a shame because there is a lot of good. It’s just those few people that ruin it. I think that they should all learn to stamp! Then they would be able to go to a happy place.
Hugs and love to you!! XO 🙂

    1. Good morning Michael! Thanks! I think the Mojo sketches are always pretty great! Umm… Goldie Hawn?! LOL! 🙂

  6. I so love that fish and how you have used it in your projects! And very well said about the tragedy in Orlando. So sad and so senseless.

    1. Thank you Teresa! He is one of my all time favorite stamps! The things that go on in today’s world make my heart sad. Hopefully people will wake up. 🙂

  7. Awesome card, love the fish in red. LOl, “die in back of my drawer” I understand. Yep, I’ve stopped trying to understand, or find the words to describe the hatred in the world today. I just cherish every moment with my family and pray like hell that they remain safe. But I know I cant do a darn thing about it. We actually discussed this over dinner today, so proud of my kids, they love and accept all, and honestly do not notice your skin or hair color, religion, or who you love. If your a good person thats the key, and are sickened by the events.

    1. Thank you so much Linda! Love that fish and I’m glad that you understand the “unknown” die! I don’t think that there is a way to understand how a maniacs mind works. You re right about all you say! And I have to say that your children are a reflection of what an awesome parent you are! We need more people like you in the world that actually do make it a better place! 🙂
