Paper Craft Crew 197

Hmm… my week is a little off! I thought that today was Tuesday because we had off Monday?! I guess my excitement that Friday will be here before I know it will make up for all of that confusion!! LOL! So happy Wednesday! Before I headed over to the store this morning I stopped by Heather’s and fixed her mouse on her work computer. I was thanked with a nice breakfast of eggs, sausages, hash browns and toast! SO much for that diet! But, I was good for the rest of the day! On the way to work there was traffic on the parkway and there usually isn’t. Well, low and behold some truck driver decided that he would use a bridge as a can opener! As I drove by the scene the roof of the truck was still laying in the road. I know I saw a sign about clearance, guess he didn’t! The store was busy and Renee and I both worked on different projects. We also had salad for lunch, we are starting a new healthy eating kick! After I got home, top down in the car again, I had a sandwich for dinner and then ran to BJ’s the get some things before settling in for the evening. Today I have some more product coming into the store and a lot of paperwork related stuff to do! I’m going to try and get some crafty time in too!

Since it is Wednesday that means that I’m over on the Paper Craft Crew blog for this week’s sketch…

PCCCS197 DT Sketch 6-01-2016

My card is way out of my comfort zone today! I used some really bright colors! The card base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. I masked off the square with Post-it Tape and used my Mini Ink Blending Tool to apply some Twisted Citron Distress Ink. I used the same method to apply Mermaid Lagoon and Wilted Violet to two pieces of Canson 140lb Watercolor Card. They are adhered to the card at angles to match the sketch. My cityscape is a piece of Black 110lb cut out with the Impression Obsession City Landscape Layers Dies and is adhered on top of the inked panels. The little taxi and greeting are from the Hero Arts City Adventure Photopolymer Stamp Set and are both heat embossed in Black Embossing Powder, the taxi on Hello Honey and the greeting on Desert Storm 80lb. I flagged the left side of the greeting and used Foam Tape to adhere them both to the card. A sprinkling of Pretty Pink Posh Amethyst, Marigold, Lime Sorbet and Onyx Sequins complete the card! I have to say that I really do love the bright colors against the subdued colors of the taxi and greeting and that City Die is so cool!! I hope that you enjoyed my Design Team card for this week’s Paper Craft Crew Sketch Challenge! Stop by the BLOG and see what the rest of the Designer’s have done and enter your card in the gallery! Thank you for stopping by today! Have a wonderful Wednesday! 🙂

  1. I’d never know that making today’s card was out of your comfort zone! It looks great!

    1. Thank you so much Carol! I’m not usually a brights kind of guy but I beginning to lie them! 🙂

  2. I love the black skyline against the bright colors. So cool. I know what you mean about the Tuesday after a holiday always seems like a Monday trying to confuse us. It must be like Christmas every day to be opening boxes of new supplies frequently, but it must be difficult to not want to use everything. Take care and have another wonderful day.

    1. Thanks HJ! I do love a skyline! I guess being confused that there is one less day in the work week isn’t a bad thing! I do really enjoy having the store! It’s a lot of work but yes, it is like Christmas all the time when a package comes! I get to have some for making samples so it’s all good! It definitely is hard not to order an extra of everything for me! LOL! I hope that you enjoy your day too!! Hugs! 🙂

  3. Oh Justin – every time I think you’ve made the best card evah (not a typo), you come up with another one. Toni-Lynn would go ga ga over this card just like I did! I LOVE bright colors and the silhouette of the NYC skyline in black just blows it out of the water! What more can I say? Beautiful, artful, eye catching don’t even begin to describe this card!

It’s another picture perfect day here in Maine. Blue sky, bright sunshine, temps hovering around 70 with a slight breeze. I think it’s spectacular! Will be busy today helping prepare the hubs for his trip. Wishing you a Wonderful Wednesday and super successful day. Love and hugs, XXOO 🙂

    1. Yay! I love when you say that Grace! I’m not really a brights fan but I will be using the colors more, I had fun!
Sounds like lovely weather! It’s been gorgeous here too, in the 70’s and the store is by the water so it’s always breezy! I hope that you had a good day and that your weather continues! Love and hugs to you! XOXO 🙂
