SIP Challenge 52 – Card Maker’s Choice and Year Anniversary Giveaways!

SIP Header

Wow! Now that was a Monday! LOL! There are so many aspects of running a store that are pretty stressful and irritating! But you take the good with the bad! I was a busy little boy at the Stamp, Ink, Paper Store yesterday. I got my cards put up in a display for sale, finally! Remember the store in Wantagh that wanted my cards, well they still want them! I have to find the time to go over and talk to them about that! Now there will be two places that people can buy the cards! Lots of product ordering issues at the store and none of them have easy fixes. Guess you just keep chugging along! When I got home last night I had some spaghetti at my Parent’s and then came home to Taylor watching The X-Files on Netflix. I love that show and have seen every episode! The rest of the evening was spent getting everything together for today’s SIP post! It’s our one year anniversary! I can’t believe that it’s been a year! We have some fun prizes that we are giving away to our three winners this week too! Each of the Design Team members has contributed something! I have added the Lawn Fawn Stinkin’ Cute Stamps and Dies!

SIP Any Challenge 52 800

While I was at the store yesterday I was going through the stamps that I brought with me and came across this set that I had wanted last year. I decided to do some Ink Blending! The card base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock with the entire front covered in a piece of Black 110lb. My background is cut from a piece of 12 x 12 paper, Bo Bunny’s Believe Line the Marvelous piece. All of the images and greeting are from the Hero Arts Stamp & Cut Butterflies Photopolymer Stamp and Dies Set. I heat embossed all of the butterflies in Hero Arts Copper Embossing Powder on a piece of Tim Holtz Watercolor Card. They are colored in with Seedless Preserves and Peacock Feathers Distress Ink using a Dauber. The bodies are stamped in Onyx Black and the they are all cut out using the included Dies. I arranged them on the card and stamped the greeting in Onyx Black and then adhered them all to the card with Foam Tape. A few Pretty Pink Posh Metallic Bronze, Ocean Spray Iridescent and Pansy Purple Sequins are scattered about and then card is done! I love those butterflies and I think that they look really cool in the bright colors against that fun paper! I hope that you like my Design Team card for the One Year Anniversary Stamp, Ink, Paper Card Maker’s Choice Challenge! Click below on the NEXT button to go on to Andrea’s blog and see what she has to add to the prize pack and her card! After you have finished the Hop head on over to the BLOG and enter your card in the gallery for a chance to be one of this week’s winners! Thank you very much for stopping by today! Have a terrific Tuesday! πŸ™‚

    1. Thank you Nancy! Yes, can’t believe that it’s been a year! Hope you can come and see me too! I’m sure that you will too! XO πŸ™‚

  2. Beautiful card, Justin. I love all the butterflies on the card and the greeting is always perfect. The background paper really makes the butterflies pop. Every job has some pitfalls, but knowing you, I’m sure you will make the best of it. Have a great day.

    1. Thank you HJ! Butterflies are my mum’s fave and I love when a small set has a good greeting! I’m not complaining abut my job, it’s just stressful sometimes, I’m not a person that gives up control easily! Waiting for other people is not my thing either! I’ll adjust! πŸ™‚

  3. Beautiful card! Love the blending — I need to work on that. Congratulations on your One Year Anniversary! This group has really grown and is great inspiration!

    1. Thank you very much Desiree! I love Ink Blending! So happy to be at a year with the Challenge Blog and I’m so lucky to have the people that I have with me! πŸ™‚

  4. Hi Justin:

Now don’t be laughing at my but first thing in the morning I’m not the brightest bulb in the package! So, I got up late, turned on the computer, grabbed a cup of tea and, as always, opened your blog first. Well, still being half asleep those bright colors came up on the computer screen and boy, this card sure woke me up. I need to remember to put on my sunglasses before I open your blog first thing. LOL I really love this card! The background is so bright and beautiful it literally jumps at you and brings a huge and I do mean HUGE smile to one’s face. Thanks for that “wake up” call. I need to get me some of that Hero Arts Copper embossing powder. I just think it smacks of versatility!

Not much time to play on the computer this morning. We need to head out and go to Augusta plus go to the fuel oil company and pre-buy our heating fuel for this coming winter. Yes, it’s only June but pre-buy gives us a great price and since incoming interest is for squat these days, it’s a good investment. You have yourself a tantalizing Tuesday and remember the fun of running a store beats the heck out of the downside. Love and hugs to you my friend, XXOO πŸ™‚

    1. Hello Grace!
I’m so happy that I get to work with your tea to wake you up! LOL! Ha ha! It’s summer and I need bright! I love the butterflies and the fun background paper, I have been eyeing that for a while! I’ll add the Copper EP to you other goodies!
I hope that you have a fun day and yes, the pre-buy of the oil is very smart! Oh, I love my job, not complaining! I just need to get use to the fact that other people aren’t as on top of things as I am! LOL! Love and hugs to you! XOXO πŸ™‚

      1. Yup – definitely add the copper embossing powder. I really need to proof my comments before sending. It’s supposed to say laughing at me but not laughing at my butt! LOL DUH! I’m going to leave that one alone. πŸ™‚

        1. LOL! I try to proof my comments Grace, and sometimes I still mess up! Copper EP added!
