Hipster Wedding Congrats

So, I had a very nice day in Manhattan yesterday! I went and saw my friend Jim in the morning and got to meet his grandson Oliver. They are heading out to Montana to do some fishing today! That should be fun. From there I headed down to The Ink Pad where I got to see Brianna. We had a nice long chat and I browsed around the store. Such a fun place to be! After The Ink Pad I went and wandered around the city for a bit. I ended up having a really late lunch/early dinner of pizza at Zesty’s up on 94th and 3rd before heading back to the garage to get my car and make my way home. It only took me 35 minutes to get in in the morning but over 2 hours to get home! Oh, traffic! I acquired a really bad headache in the car and took a two hour nap when I did finally get home. Still had the headache after that so I went and made my card for today and then watched a little TV. Today Renee has the Scrap Happy Sisters at the store for a class and I want to get my last card for next month’s card class finished and my newsletter started!

Sometime cards just randomly pop into my head and that’s how today’s one came about. I stared off with a base of Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock and covered the front with a piece of Black 110lb. My background is a piece of Tim Holtz Woodgrain Card that I adhered with Fun Foam and E-Z Runner. The circle is a piece of Black 110lb that I cut out with the Lawn Fawn Cross Stitched Circles Stackables Lawn Cuts. That too is adhered with Fun Foam and E-Z Runner. The Orchids are from the Hero Arts Color Layering Large Orchid Photopolymer Stamp Set and are stamped in Soft Vanilla and Soft Lilac using my Mini MISTI. They are cut out with the Coordinating Frame Cuts and adhered to the circle with E-Z Runner. The rest of the images are from the Hero Arts Hipster at Heart Photopolymer Stamp Set. I heat embossed the Mason jar mugs in Hero Arts White Embossing Powder onto Vellum, the diamond in Gold, also on Vellum, and stamped the camera and mustache in Hero Arts Intense Black. All are cut out with the Coordinating Frame Cuts except for the diamond which I cut out with my Scissors. The mustache and diamond are adhered to the mugs with Dot Runner and then to the card with Foam Tape and Kool-Tak Clear Foam Tape. My greeting is from the Hero Arts Congrats Stamp & Cut Photopolymer Stamp Set, I cut it from Gold Mirror Card and adhered it to a piece of Vellum with Multi-Matte Medium and then to the card with the same. A few Pretty Pink Posh Gold, Sparkling Clear and Charcoal Sequins finish off the card with a little extra shine! I love the mix of floral and masculine elements on the card! I think that it makes for fun and unexpected Wedding card! I hope that you like today’s card! Thank you for sharing in my day! Have a simply wonderful Sunday! 🙂

Well, I believe that it’s Saturday! I’m off to Manhattan this morning to see my friends Jim and Diane. I think that I’ll try to stop by The Ink Pad too! Yesterday I worked on my cards for this month’s card class at the Stamp, Ink, Paper Store. Renee and Angie straightened up the store and promised to work on the new storage room today! I’m looking forward to going into the city! I’ll have the whole day to wander around!

I made what I thought was going to be a quick card last night to share with you today. It wasn’t all that quick! LOL! The card base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. I took a piece of Kraft Card Stock and heat embossed my greeting from the Altenew Painted Inspiration Photopolymer Stamp Set in Hero Arts White Embossing Powder. To make sure that it stayed flat on the card I adhered it with Tombo Extreme. The decorative circle is cut from another piece of Solar White 110lb with the Spellbinders Triple Tear Nestabilities Die. I adhered that to the card with Multi-Matte Medium. My flowers and leaves are form the Altenew Vintage Flowers Photopolymer Stamp Set. I stamped the flowers in Soft Lilac, Lavender Fields and Deep Iris with the centers of the small flowers stamped in Warm Sunshine. My leaves are stamped in Frayed Leaf, Forest Glades and Evergreen. The Mini MISTI makes lining up the layers super easy! I cut them out with the Coordinating Dies and adhered them to the card with Dot Runner and Foam Tape. I told myself that I wasn’t going to use any sequins or gold on today’s card! LOL! I do love the bright colors and white against the Kraft, it really makes the flowers and greeting stand out! I hope that you enjoyed today’s card! Thank you for taking some time out of your day to visit with me! I wish you all a very happy Saturday! 🙂

Freshly Made Sketches 247

Oh, and a very happy Friday to you! What a nice day I had yesterday! Peeps stopped by the Stamp, Ink, Paper Store to get their orders and Renee had her wood home decor project class. They made a beach ball to replace the “o” in home. It’s a really cute project! Angie was at the store today too which is always fun! She is a bad influence as we had Wendy’s for lunch! After work I headed straight over to Heather’s for Thirsty Thursday. She made me dinner, a nice salad, and we chatted about the day. After a while she decided that she needed to go to Walmart. I got an aromatherapy diffuser that was 19.88 but rang up $158.98! WHAT?! Someone keyed in that price wrong! After a discussion with the manager I got it for $19.88 (which really was the correct price) she was convinced that it was more! This morning I have a haircut with my Jessica and then it’s off to the store to work on the rest of my cards for this month’s card class. I finished one today and I love the way it came out! Oh, while I was at the store yesterday I decided to give freehand watercoloring a try and this is what I came up with…

Watercolor Feather

I’m pretty pleased with it! Can’t wait to do some more!

I made my card at the store again yesterday! This one is for this week’s Freshly Made Sketches challenge…

Freshly Made Sketches 247

My card base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock cut to 3 1/2″ wide. I took a piece of Tim Holtz Watercolor Card and used Evergreen Bough and Pine Needles Distress Ink and a Waterbrush to add color. After it was dry I heat embossed the leaves from the Hero Arts You’re So Lovely Photopolymer Stamp Set in Hero Arts Copper Embossing Powder and then used the Lawn Fawn Heart Stackables Lawn Cuts to cut it out. It’s adhered to the card with Dot Runner Adhesive. My flowers are from the same set and are stamped in Dark Quartz and Butter Bar, they are cut out with the Coordinating Frame Cuts and adhered to the heart with Dot Runner and Foam Tape. The greeting is from the Love Stamp & Cut Photopolymer Stamp Set, I die cut the love from a piece of Black 80lb and then coated it in Versa-Mark and heat embossed it in more Copper Embossing Powder. Some more Dot Runner and Foam Tape adheres it to the card. It needed a little something so I added a few Pretty Pink Posh Tangerine and Marigold and SIP Copper Sequins. I love the usual mix of colors and the Copper Embossing makes a nice change from Gold, wouldn’t you say?! I hope that you like my card for this week’s Freshly Made Sketches challenge! Thank you for coming by to see what I have been up to! Have a fun-tastic Friday! 🙂

Paper Players 305

Well hello Thursday! One day closer to the weekend! My Wednesday was really good! I got my Notions Order at the Stamp, Ink, Paper Store, most of it was supplies for upcoming classes and some goodies for me to play with! I got that all checked in a put out. Renee had her all occasions card class and there were people in and out all day. I managed to get my card for today done at the store again! After I left the store I headed straight over to Heather’s and we ran to BJ’s. We both had a few things to pick up, I needed stuff to bring to work and Heather had to get some goodies for tomorrow night. We dropped my stuff off at my house on the way back to her place. She made me dinner when we got back and then we sat outside and binge watched YouTube! Not a bad way to spend an evening at all! Today I have to make sure that I finalize all of my orders for the new Holiday goodies! Can’t wait to get them in!

The card that I have to share with you today is for this week’s Paper Players challenge…

Paper Players #305

The base is the usual Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. I used the Hero Arts Forest Floor Bold Pints Background Stamp and Altenew Soft Lilac Ink to stamp a piece of Solar White 110lb. From a piece of Black 110lb and Gold Mirror Card I cut two strips and added a flag to the left sides before adhering them under the stamped panel which is adhered to the card with Fun Foam and E-Z Runner. Next up I used the Spellbinders Triple Tear Nestabilities Dies to cut out another piece of Gold Mirror Card and that is adhered to the card with Dot Runner and Foam Tape. My flower and leaves are from the Altenew Golden Garden Photopolymer Stamp Set. I stamped the outlines in Altenew Jet Black, the flower in Buttercream and the leaves in Frayed Leaf Crisp Ink. They are cut out with the Coordinating Dies and adhered to the card with Multi-Matte Medium and Foam Tape. My greeting is from the Altenew Sentiments & Quotes Photopolymer Stamp Set and is stamped in Jet Black. I cut it out with one of the dies from the Spellbinders Hipster 1 Die D-Lites. It’s adhered to the card with Foam Tape and the card is finished! I know and you all know how much I love that Gold Mirror Card, it just adds so much and the Altenew Flowers are definitely a favorite too! I hope that you enjoyed my card for this week’s Paper Players sketch challenge! I appreciate your visit and I wish you all a lovely Thursday! 🙂

Paper Craft Crew 204

Hey, hey it’s Wednesday! LOL! I try to think up new ways to start off my posts! It was another very warm day here, still loving it! I got a lot accomplished at the Stamp, Ink, Paper Store including making my card for today! Yay for being productive! When I got home I had some dinner and then had a conference call with my friend Greg! After that Louis stopped by for a bit to pick up a Birthday card for his sister. We watched some YouTube and then I ran out to get gas in the car. I like to do it late at night, there are less people and then I don’t have to stop on my way in the morning! All about the planning… right?!

The card that I conjured up at the store is for this week’s Paper Craft Crew sketch…

PCCCS204 DT Sketch 7-27-2016

I wanted bright and fun, you’ll have to let me know know if I was successful! The card base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. I took a piece of Cyber Grape Card Stock and flicked some Copic Opaque White onto it. Once it was dry I adhered it to the card base with E-Z Runner. Down the right side is a piece of Bo Bunny Believe 12×12 Devotion Paper and a strip if Gold Mirror Card. My oval is a piece of Tropical Sea Card Stock that I cut out with the Lawn Fawn Stitched Ovals Stackables. Some Fun Foam and E-Z Runner adheres it to the card. The stamped images are form the Altenew Lotus Photopolymer Stamp Set. I stamped the flowers in Soft Lilac, Lavender Fields and Deep Iris and the leaves in Frayed Leaf and Forest Glades. They are cut out with the Coordinating Dies and adhered to the oval with E-Z Runner and Foam Tape. The hexagon is another piece of Gold Mirror Card that I cut out with a die from the Spellbinders Hipster 1 Die D-Lites. My greeting is from the Altenew Sentiments & Quotes Photopolymer Stamp Set and is stamped in Onyx Black, I flagged the ends and adhered it over the hexagon with Foam Tape. You knew it was coming! LOL! I added a few Pretty Pink Posh Gold, Amethyst and Lime Sorbet Sequins for a little more sparkle and the card is done! I love that Lotus Stamp Set and the nice bold colors on the card! SIP Challenge 58 – A Sketch from Lisa!

Well that was an interesting Monday! When I arrived at the Stamp, Ink, Paper Store there was no electricity! Renee had a class at 11:00 and the troopers that they all are they came and scrapbooked! Thankfully there was just enough light to let them sit at the first table although it did get a little warm in there! The power finally came back on around 1:00, that is a long time for me to be without a computer! LOL! I did manage to get some stuff done but not as much as I had wanted to. Guess I’ll have to kick it into high gear today!

It’s Tuesday and time for this week’s Stamp, Ink, Paper Challenge

SIP Challenge 58

My card starts off with a base of Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. Across the lower half is a piece of paper from the Lawn Fawn Perfectly Plaid 6×6 Paper Pack. My ice cream is a piece of Canson 140lb Watercolor Card, I created a mask with a piece of Post-it Tape and used my Mini Ink Blending Tool to apply some Ground Espresso Distress Ink to the top part. It’s cut out with the Concord & 9th Sweet & Cool Dies. I used my Heat Tool to dry the ink and then applied a thick coat of Versa-Mark to the entire piece and dipped it in some Hero Arts Clear Embossing Powder and heat set that. The stick is a piece of EK Success Wood Sheet and is cut out with the same dies. I adhered it to the bottom of the ice cream and then adhered the whole thing to the card with E-Z Runner and Fun Foam. My greeting is from the Concord & 9th Sweet & Cool Photopolymer Stamp Set. I stamped it in Hero Arts Tangerine Hybrid and Tide Pool Ink. What was missing… oh yes! Sequins! LOL! I added a scattering of Pretty Pink Posh Blue Lagoon, Pumpkin, Watermelon, Lime Sorbet and Sparkling Clear around the ice pop and the card is finished! I love the clear embossing over the ice cream! It makes the chocolate look good enough to eat! I hope that you enjoyed my Design Team card for this week’s Stamp, Ink, Paper Challenge! Head on over to the BLOG and see what the rest of the Team has done to inspire you and add your card to the gallery! Thank you so much for visiting with me today! Have a tantalizing Tuesday! 🙂

Mojo Monday 458

Of we go into another week! My weekend was great! My friend Barbara came out to the Stamp, Ink, Paper Store to visit! We had Panera for lunch and then hung out at the store. Around 4:30 we headed out, I wanted to stop home and drop off my bags. When we got to the house my Brother, Erika, Daniel and Tristen were at my parents! I finally got a peek at the new baby! Barbara got to meet everyone including Winston. From there we made our way into Manhattan, lots of traffic as always on a Sunday evening. By the time I found a parking space it was 7:00. Barbara and I said our goodbyes and I headed over to see Kim Doi. Once there I spoke to Michael for a bit and so did Kim. I helped Kim with her new rug and some electronics goodies that she had gotten and then we went out for Mexican food. The place we ate at was called Oaxaca Taqueria on 1st and 64th. The food was excellent and I haven’t had really good Mexican in a while! After dinner we went back to Kim’s and I shared my latest YouTube obsession, Troy Miller, with her. Watching him just make me smile! I started to head back to the car around 11:40. There was a big accident by Laguardia so that delayed me a little but I still made it home by 12:45 and I got to do one of my favorite things, drive back home from the city with the top down at night in my car! Today I have to get all of my orders in for the new Holiday goodies that are coming out! Fun!

The best way to start off a new week is with a new Mojo Monday Sketch…

Mojo458

Today’s card base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. The first layer of my background is a piece of Crisp Cantaloupe. My piece of patterned paper is from the Dear Lizzy Documentary 6×6 Paper Pad. I backed it with a piece of Black 110lb and adhered that to the card. Another piece of paper from the same pad is adhered to the card with Fun Foam and E-Z Runner. The two banners are Pistachio Pudding and Daffodil Delight and my triangle is Sweet Sugarplum that I cut out with the Lawn Fawn Stitched Rectangle Frames Lawn Cuts. The banners and triangle are adhered to the card with Foam Tape. My butterfly is from the Hero Arts Stamp & Cut Butterflies Photopolymer Stamp Set. I heat embossed it onto a piece of Tim Holtz Watercolor Card with Hero Arts White Embossing Powder. The image is colored in with my Gansai Tambi Watercolors and the body is stamped in Onyx Black. I used the dies to cut them both out and adhered the butterfly to the card with another piece of Foam Tape. Right before I adhered the butterfly I stamped the greeting in Onyx Black. A little sprinkling of Pretty Pink Posh Pink Peony, Tangerine and Lemon Drop Sequins completes the card! I love my Gansai Tambi Watercolors, they have such a nice rich pigment to them and I think they really make the butterfly pop! I hope that you like my Design Team card for this week’s Mojo Monday Sketch Challenge! Stop by the BLOG and see the rest of the Team’s cards and don’t forget to enter your take on the sketch into the gallery! Thank you for starting another week off with me! Have a marvelous Monday! 🙂

Hello Beautiful City Garden

What a fun Saturday that was! The private crop at the store was a really good time! I love getting to chat with everyone and help them out with their crafty questions! There was a lot of good food to eat too as there always is with a crop! I left the store around 3:45 and headed home. When I got to the house I sat down on the couch and had a nice and much needed hour long nap! I never do that but it felt good! After my nap I had dinner with my Parents and then came back home and went into the Stampin’ Galley to have some crafty time! I miss creating in the little room. Around 10:00 I got a text from Heather asking if I wanted to go over to Brian’s and sit in the backyard. I got in the car and off I went. We had a nice relaxing evening outside and I got home around 1:30. Today I have a friend coming out to the Stamp, Ink, Paper Store for a visit and I think that I might take a ride into Manhattan after work! I miss the city!

Today I have a fun card that uses the cityscape that I love so much in a different way! The card base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. I used my Mini Ink Blending Tool to add some Cornflower and Soft Lilac to the top part of a piece of Solar White 80lb. The Impression Obsession City Landscape Layers Die is cut from a piece of Basic Gray and adhered to the background. Along the bottom I heat embossed the greeting from the Hero Arts Color Layering For You Flowers Photopolymer Stamp Set in Hero Arts White Embossing Powder onto a piece of Gumball Green. My flowers and leaves are from the same set and are stamped in Soft Lilac, Passion Flower and Grape Juice for the flower and on the leaves I used Lime Green and Green Hills. They are all cut out with the Coordinating Frame Cuts and adhered to the card with Foam Tape and Dot Runner Adhesive. I think that the card sort of reminds me of looking at the flowers in Central Park with the City behind them. What does I look like to you?! I hope that you enjoyed my card today! Thank you, as always, for coming by! I wish you all a simple and fun Sunday! 🙂

Freshly Made Sketches 246

It’s the weekend peeps! What’s on for you?! I will be at the Stamp, Ink, Paper Store, as always! LOL! Today there is a private crop so I will only be staying until around 2:00 and then I’m going to attempt to get some stuff done around the house. Although, I have been longing to go to Long Beach for a nice walk along the boardwalk. We’ll see which wins out! Nick was at the store yesterday and we switched the storage room and the kitchen. We need more space to keep stuff and get a little more organized and the kitchen was a little bigger than the storage room, problem solved! Sue came up to the store yesterday too and hung out with me. We rearranged some stuff and straighten up. I saw Angie for a bit before I left, she had her art journaling class last night. Always something fun going on at the store!

Today I have my card for this week’s Freshly Made Sketches challenge to share with you…

Freshly Made Sketches 246

Oh, a tag! LOL! The card base for today is Ivory 110lb Card Stock. I used the Lawn Fawn Cross Stitched Rectangles Stackables Lawn Cuts to cut out another piece and adhered it to the card with Fun Foam and E-Z Runner for my background. The tag is a piece of Kraft Card Stock that is cut out with the Tim Holtz Tags Collection Framelits. The reinforcement is cut from Gold Mirror Card. I adhered the tag to the card with Fun Foam and E-Z Runner with a piece of May Arts Hemp Twine tied though the top. Another piece of Ivory 110lb is die cut with one of the dies from the Spellbinders Die of the Month 7 Kit with my Platinum Machine. I also embossed it and adhered it to the tag with a Glue Dot. The leaves and berries are from the same set, cut from red and green, and the feathers are from the Spellbinders Feathers Shapeabilities Dies, they are cut from Gold Mirror Card. I also used a Glue Dot to adhere them. My greeting is from the Altenew Sentiments & Quotes Photopolymer Stamp Set and is heat embossed in Hero Arts Gold Embossing Powder onto a piece of Black 110lb. That is adhered to the card with Foam Tape. I added a dot of Multi-Matte Medium under the twine to keep it in place and that finished the card! Yes, I think that my obsession with feathers is back, especially the Spellbinders ones! I hope that you like my card for this week’s Freshly Made Sketches challenge! Thanks for stopping by today! I wish you all a spectacular Saturday! 🙂

Fab Friday 92

Oh yes it’s Friday! We had a great time in the Ink Blended Backgrounds class at the Stamp, Ink, Paper Store yesterday! Everyone left with two fun cards and the confidence to create their own ink blended backgrounds! Renee and I continued to work on laying out the stores better. We are going to be making some major changes today, can’t wait to get that done! It was Thirsty Thursday last night and we had it at Stephanie’s house for a change! Loads of fun just like always! I really do have some incredible friends!

Today I have my project for the Fab Friday challenge! This time it’s colors…

Fab Fri 92 7-22-2016

When I was at the store on Wednesday I had started working on a project to give to my brother and sister-in-law for a gift. It’s not what you would expect from me! I have to branch out every so often! The base for today’s Scrapbook Page is My Colors 12×12 Textured White. I stamped the flowers and leaves from the Altenew Beautiful Day Photopolymer Stamp Set in Blush, Rouge, Crimson and Velvet for the flowers and Frayed Leaf, Frosted Glades and Evergreen for the leaves. They are all cut out with the Coordinating Dies. I arranged the picture and stamped images on the page and then stamped some other images from the same set in Jet Black. When I was happy with the placement I adhered the flowers and leaves to the page with E-Z Runner and Foam Tape. My greeting is from the Altenew Painted Inspiration Photopolymer Stamp Set and is also stamped in Jet Back. Just to give the layout a little more interest I added some Pretty Pink Posh Sparkling Clear, Lime Sorbet and Raspberry Sequins. I loved that picture so much I had to do something special with it and I thought that greeting was so perfect for the picture! I hope that you like my Design Team Scrapbook Page for the Fab Friday Color Challenge! Be sure and go over to the BLOG and see the rest of the Design Team’s projects and add yours to the gallery! Thank you so much for visiting with me! Have a fabulous Friday! 🙂
