Freshly Made Sketches 243 & MMH Sneak Peek 2!

MMH_Logo_TB

Oh we are gearing up for a nice long weekend here! It was an overcast day on Long Island but that didn’t dampen any of the fun at the Stamp, Ink, Paper Store! Renee and Angie were there and we crafted the day away! Around 4:30 the heavens opened up and it bucketed down! My trusty Dark Sky App let me know that I would have a window around 6:00 to make a break for the car and head home so that’s just what I did! Around 7:30 Anthony and Bill came by to get me so that we could go and have some Friday’s! I had a nice New York bacon cheeseburger and it was delicious! The fries were well done, just how I like them too! Once back home I crafted for a bit before watching a little TV. Today I have a bunch of things to get finished before the store is closed for two days! Not that I will not be doing any work! LOL!

Today I have my second sneak peek of the July My Monthly Hero Kit to share with you! It’s also for this week’s Freshly Made Sketches challenge…

Freshly Made Sketches 243

Today’s card all started with another Ink Blended Background! I used my Mini Ink Blending Tool to add Hero Arts Cornflower Ink to a piece of Neenah Solar White 80lb Card Stock. The two images are from the Main Stamp Set from the Kit. They are Color Layering Jellyfish and are stamped in Soft Pink for the first layer and a new just too cool for words Ombre Ink Pad for the second layer. I adhered a piece of Fun Foam to the back of the panel to get it ready to add to the base. That base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock and along the bottom I stamped some of the Coral from The Main Stamp Set in more of that super cool Ombre Ink! My main panel is then adhered to the card base. The greeting is again from the Main Stamp Set and is heat embossed onto a piece of Vellum with Hero Arts White Embossing Powder. A little Kool-Tak Clear Foam Tape holds it to the card. Finally I added a few Pretty Pink Posh Sparkling Clear, Ballerina Pink and Pansy Purple Sequins to complete the card! I must be in a tropical frame of mind with all of my Ink Blended Backgrounds in the gorgeous soft blues, pinks and purples! I hope that you enjoyed your second sneak peek at the July My Monthly Hero Kit and my card for this week’s Freshly Made Sketches challenge! You can purchase the Kit staring on July 5th at 1:00PM EST directly from Hero Arts! Thanks for coming by and I’ll have another look at the goodies in the Kit tomorrow! Have a simply marvelous Saturday! 🙂

  1. Oh, Justin, this is such a beautiful card. I love your blending and the ombre ink pads make a wonderful background with the coral. The top layer is very interesting with the jellyfish and what a perfect greeting for this card. I’m glad you are having a two-day break. We all need time away from work, even it is the best job in the world. Have a super Saturday.

    1. Thank you HJ! I think that the stamps have awoken some new part of me! LOL! I’m really enjoying playing with them! I’m looking forward to getting things back in order at my house!! It looks like a transient lives there! LOL! Have a fun day my friend! 🙂

  2. Hi Justin:

The saying for this card cracked me up. Not that it’s funny but more that there couldn’t possibly be a better saying for those jelly fish! 🙂 Matching the coral to the jelly fish “trail” colors really brought it all together. It’s a great, summery card. AND, I love the acrylic K, especially for someone who uses vellum so often!

Bad storm last night but somehow the electricity stayed on. I noted that parts of CT were under a tornado watch. That scares the heck out of me. We desperately need the rain but not all the hail and stuff that accompanied this storm. I hope you really enjoy your two days off. Maybe the noise of all the fireworks will get your yet to be born niece/nephew to decide to make her/his entry into the world. LOL Love and hugs my friend, XXOO 🙂

    1. Hey Grace!
Yes, I like the saying too! It’s a fun love description that I haven’t heard before! I love the colors in the Ink Pad! A very nice take on an Ombre Pad! The Acrylic K was a cool find! You know me and my initials! LOL!
Glad that you got some needed rain and got to keep the power on too! That’s always a bonus! We were under a tornado watch here too, just had some wind and torrential rain and it was done! I can’t wait to just get my house in order! I’m going to throw a ton of stuff out! I need to go minimalist! Easier to keep clean! I hope the new one comes soon, poor Erika is done! Love and hugs to you! Have a super day! XOXO 🙂

  3. Enjoy your two day break! I am so in loe with this kit, the ombre ink pad just seals the deal. I love jellyfish. I think that they are just aazing creatures, another mirace of nature. A few years back I went to a special exhibit
at Shed Aquarium on jellyfish. I was blown away!

Still beautiful here, I would not mind a few minutes of rain, not a storm to ruin anything. Just enough to water my flowers.

Ok back to house, hopefully craft time will get squeezed in

    1. I did enjoy my two day break Linda! I focused on what I really need to get done! I’m so glad that you like the card! I really think that jellyfish are amazingly beautiful creatures! Glad that your weather held out, ours was fantastic too! I think that if you could get the weather to work like that it would be awesome! I did get a lot of crafty time squeezed in! And much needed cleaning! 🙂

  4. What a great card Justin! I love those jellies and that sentiment is too fun! Love the background! Thanks for joining us this week at Freshly Made Sketches!

    1. Thanks so much Jen! I love the jellies too! Hope you had a nice weekend! 🙂
