Freshly Made Sketches 245

That week just flew by! Happy Saturday peeps! I had one more Card Class yesterday morning at the Stamp, Ink, Paper Store. They were mostly first timers except for my talented friend Dianne. All had a nice time especially me! We had some new customer in the store too, I really do think that one of my favorite parts of my job is talking to people about being crafty! Love that I get to share what I love with others! It was a hot one here yesterday, I even had the AC on in the car on the way to work but on the way home the top was down. I had dinner with my parents and then came home and made a card and relaxed. Today I have lots to get accomplished at the store and hopefully I will be successful! It’s easy to get sidetracked on the weekend! LOL!

My craftiness that I have to share with you today is my card for this week’s Freshly Made Sketches challenge…

Freshly Made Sketches 245

I used some new goodies that just arrived at the store yesterday! My card base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. Across the bottom is a piece of The Paper Cut Amethyst Stardream Metallic that I embossed with the We R Memory Keepers Waves Next Level 3D Embossing Folder. on the main panel I stamped the images and greeting from the Concord & 9th Brushed Blossom Photopolymer Stamp Set. The flowers are stamped in Altenew Lavender Falls, Deep Iris and Midnight Violet and the leaves in Forest Glades Crisp Ink. I stamped the greeting in Midnight Violet and then adhered the panel to the card with Fun Foam and E-Z Runner. The delicate die cut is cut from 36lb Vellum using the Concord & 9th Blossom Die. A few strategically placed dots of Multi-Matte Medium hold it to the card. And yes, I added some Pretty Pink Posh Amethyst, Pansy Purple and Sparkling Clear Sequins! I do love that flower and the die cut is just awesome! I hope that you enjoyed my card for this week’s Freshly Made Sketches challenge! Thank you for taking some time out of your Saturday to visit me! I wish you all an amazing day! ๐Ÿ™‚

  1. Good Morning Justin:

Your card for today is just delightful! The Altenew inks you used are so beautiful and that metallic paper, well what can I say, it’s metallic so that automatically makes it amazingly gorgeous. Adding the Blossom die was the perfect touch and, of course, the sequins are placed exactly at the right spots and in the perfect colors. A card anyone would drool over!

Hazy, hot and miserable is today’s forecast yet again. I can’t sleep in this weather but I know the last week of July and first week of August will be worse. I’m thinking perhaps I should head to Canada or Alaska until September, LOL
Anyway, I wish you a Super Saturday my friend. Love & Hugs, XXOO ๐Ÿ™‚

    1. Hello Grace!
Thank you! I do love those Altenew inks and the paper, I need to get more! I know how you love a little sparkle! I do love my “random” sequins! LOL!
It’s been hot here too, but I am a fan so! I know that you are not! But you have your weather in the Winter so I get mine now! You might want to look into a little trip to Alaska, although I have a friend who lives there and it can get pretty warm in the summer there too! Maybe going south of the equator?! LOL!
Love and hugs to you!! XOXO ๐Ÿ™‚

  2. Such beautiful soft purples. Lovely effect all over. You are so fortunate to have a stamp store that seems to be open all the time. Our stores here have been disappearing right and left. It is a wonderful experience to see products and finished cards in person let alone having classes and stampers available! Our one store is small and the class area is cramped, but I love to wander and be able to ask questions. My new lovely SU demonstrator has classes once a month and “walk in” days. Her classes are so relaxing and fun! I’m due for a trip up to “my” store called Simply Said to spend my Christmas gift card. I can’t wait! Oh, how I would love a trip to NYC to visit you, your store, and The Ink Pad. Not going to happen with my back and hip. I’ll just have to get new ones! How is Heather doing? Give her my regards! Hi Grace!
Humidity is supposed to be down today but back with a vengeance tomorrow! Yuck! Have a super Saturday! Hugs, Nancy A

    1. HI Nancy – I’ve been thinking of you. Back problems are horrendous. Take it easy and enjoy Justin’s blog. All our stamping stores have closed within the past few years. I would love to go to Justin’s place and today my daughter said maybe we could go into Manhattan in the spring or fall and take the ferry to Long Island. We will see. You take care now. What state are you in?

    2. Thank you Nancy! I have been really into purples lately! I could’t agree more with you about the store, it is so much nicer to see products and ask questions! It’s a good way to learn of things that you were not aware of too! It’s great that you support your local store, that’s what we all need to do to make sure that they stay around! As soon as you get the new parts let me know! Would be wonderful to get to see you, especially here! Heather is doing well. I will tell you asked!
I still will take the humidity over the snow any day! Hugs to you! XO ๐Ÿ™‚
