OSAT July Blog Hop – Shabby Chic

I just can’t say enough about how lovely the weather has been here! And down by the Stamp, Ink, Paper Store there is a breeze all the time that is just heavenly! Lots got accomplished at the store today! My friend Sue came by to help me, she so awesome! We got everything cut for Card Class. I made a custom stamp for someone with my Mint! That was fun! When I got home my little buddy Daniel was at my Parent’s. I had dinner and then he and I played with his trucks and made it rain grass on them which he thought was pretty awesome! I’m sure that when he starts doing that at my Brother’s house I will hear about it! LOL! He went to see his sister yesterday, here is a little picture of that…

Daniel & Tristan

I think that he will make a very good big brother! He even combed her hair while he was there! The rest of the evening was pretty quiet, just how I wanted it to be! 😀

For my projects today I’m participating in a blog hop with a bunch of my friends from one of the Facebook groups that I belong to. It’s called One Stamp at a Time Cards and More. If you have arrived here from my good friend Dena’s blog, welcome! This month we have a Shabby Chic theme! Not really a style that I’m good at but I’m up for trying anything! I have two cards and a fun little box to share with you!

Both of the cards use most of the same elements. They both have bases of Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock covered in a piece of Early Espresso. The patterned paper on both is the same too, it’s from Blue Fern and is from the Timeless Collection. The flowers on both cards are from the Altenew Botanical Garden Photopolymer Stamp Set and are heat embossed on Tim Holtz Watercolor Card with Hero Arts Gold Embossing Powder. I used Dusty Concord, Pumice Stone and Bundled Sage Distress Inks and a Waterbrush to color in the flowers and then used the Coordinating Dies to cut them out. On the first card I adhered a piece of the Timeless Paper to the card with Fun Foam and E-Z Runner after distressing the edges. A Tea Lace Paper Doily is then adhered to the left side. On top of that is another piece of the Timeless Paper under a piece of Gold Mirror Card that I cut out with the Spellbinders Savoy Decorative Accent Nestabilities. My flowers are adhered with Foam Tape and Dot Runner. For the greeting I heat embossed the hello from the Altenew Halftone Hello Photopolymer Stamp Set in more Hero Arts Gold Embossing Powder and cut it and piece of Fun Foam out with the Coordinating Die. It’s adhered to the card with Multi-Matte Medium. A scattering of Pretty Pink Posh Gold and Amethyst Sequins finishes the card.

The second card also has a piece of the Timeless Paper adhered with E-Z Runner. I cut another piece to 3 1/2″ x 4″, distressed the edges and adhered that with Fun Foam and E-Z Runner. A few loose loops of May Arts Twine are adhered under the flowers on this card. My greeting is from the Altenew Painted Greetings Photopolymer Stamp Set and is heat embossed in Hero Arts Gold on a piece of Early Espresso with the right side flagged. Some Foam Tape adhered that to the card and some Pretty Pink Posh Gold Sequins complete the card.

My box is cut from the same Blue Fern Timeless Paper using the Spellbinders Makers Mart Month 4 Die Set. I then used some more of the dies to cut feathers out of Gold Mirror Card and leaves out of green card stock. They and a flower that I found at the store along with a piece of the Twine that I tied into a bow are adhered to the top of the box. A super fun and simple project to make!

Shabby Chic is definitely not my style although I know how popular it is right now. Your flowers are just gorgeous though and I love when a card is made with a gift box to match.
