SIP Challenge 57 – Black & White!

Hello my blog people! How was your Monday?! Mine was crazy busy! LOL! No surprise there! The Stamp, Ink, Paper Store was fun. I got my Notions order in and had one more person for Card Class today. My friend Lori also stopped by to get her dies that she ordered. Around 5:30 the heavens opened up and it poured for about 1/2 hour then the sun came back out. I had a quick dinner with my Parent’s and then came home and started working on some of the 100’s of projects that I need to finish! Today I have a conference call in the morning and Renee has Kids Camp at the store. It’s all a go all the time and I wouldn’t have it any other way!

Today isย Tuesday and that means that we have a new Stamp, Ink, Paper challenge to share with you…

SIP Theme 57 B&W 800

Ahh… Black & White! My card base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. I used the Lawn Fawn Cross Stitched Rectangles Stackables Lawn Cuts to cut out a piece of Black 110lb and heat embossed the greeting from the Altenew Painted Greetings Photopolymer Stamp Set in Hero Arts White Embossing Powder. It’s adhered to the card with Fun Foam and E-Z Runner. The flowers are from the Altenew Dahlia Blossom Photopolymer Stamp Set. I stamped the outlines in Jet Black and the highlights in Evening Gray and then used the Coordinating Dies to cut them all out. They are adhered to the card with a mix of Foam Tape and E-Z Runner. I added a few Pretty Pink Posh Sparkling Clear Sequins around the greeting to help balance the card out and it’s done! I do love those Dahlias, especially in just the gray and black! I hope that you enjoyed my Design Team card for this week’s Stamp, Ink, Paper Black & White Challenge! Check out the rest of our talented Design Team’s cards over on the BLOG and let’s see what you come with by sharing your creation with us in the gallery! Thank you so much for checking in with me today! Have a thoroughly awesome Tuesday! ๐Ÿ™‚

  1. Wow! What a beautiful card, Justin. I love the white dahlias with the subtle gray highlights. Of course, the sequins give it that touch of bling necessary for any of Justin’s cards!! The storm was bad around here for a short time, although many lost power, we were lucky on that. Glad it cooled off a bit.

    1. Thanks so much HJ! I do love those Altenew Inks! It wouldn’t be one of my cards if it didn’t have some sequins! LOL! Glad that you got to keep your power! ๐Ÿ™‚

  2. Great card. The dimension and the grey highlights really make the flowers pop.
How fortunate you are to have found a job you love! I would love to visit the store but live on the west coast. It’s really hard to find a good store around here. Do most of my shopping on line.

    1. Thank you Joyce! Sometimes subtle can be so much fun! I am fortunate, it’s not all roses but for the most part it’s great! I like that I get to see people and that they are happy to shop with me! ๐Ÿ™‚

  3. You know how to make B & w lively, lovely, &interesting! Love it! Got to go for groceries — a very big job these days; then I will spend the rest of the day recuperating. Take care, Nancy B

  4. Justin,
I do enjoy reading your blog everyday although I do not comment a lot but love all your cards and I just love this one.
I may case it using a different stamps You days make me tired just reading all you do-Oh to be young again. You sound very happy and enjoy your days working, which is unusual these days. I also want to mention I did meet you in Allentown at the rubber stamp show. I was so happy I did get to see you. Maybe one day I will venture into NY to see the shop.

  5. What a striking B&W card, Justin! The detail on the dahlia blossoms is perfection. And, of course, the card would not be complete without a few sequins here and there, a la jkcards style! ๐Ÿ˜‰

Wish me luck tomorrow AM – I’m going to “pretend” it’s a normal wake-up time for me and “commute” to my craft room so I can get some crafty time in before my work day starts. ๐Ÿ™‚
