Vintage Yellow and Blue Flowers for Renee

For a Tuesday that sure felt like a Monday! LOL! What a busy day indeed. It all started at 1:40AM, I woke up with a really bad stomach ache and headache. I took two Excedrin and the was sick, sat on the couch for an hour willing the headache away and then finally went back to bed and forced myself to go to sleep. Needless to say I woke up a little late! I still felt off but made my way to the Stamp, Ink, Paper Store on time. Funnily enough Renee was also not feeling well and we haven’t seen each other since Saturday. I didn’t eat anything all day, not hungry at all. A bunch of orders arrived and I got them all checked in and put out. Some of my friends stopped by and a bunch of customers came in to pick up some items that I had ordered for them. It was a hot one yesterday too, in the 90’s! Perfect weather for a nice ride home in the Convertible! When I got to my Parent’s my little buddy Daniel was there! I got to fix his firetruck as soon as I walked in and then we played cars for a bit. After I ate I ran a few errands and then just relaxed for a bit. Today I have a bunch of stuff to get done at the store including making my cards for this month’s class. Did you all take the Hero Arts My Monthly Hero Blog Hop yesterday? There were some amazing projects and I was very happy to be with such talented artists! I hope I get to do it again!

Yesterday was Renee’s birthday! Happy Birthday Renee!! I gave her a fun bright card so that’s what I’m sharing with you today! The card base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock cut to 3 3/4″ wide. Down the left side is a piece of Gold Mirror Card that I cut out with the the Impression Obsession Fancy Cutout Border Die. It’s adhered to the card with Elmer’s Multi-Purpose Spray Adhesive. All of the flowers are from the Altenew Vintage Flowers Photopolymer Stamp Set. I stamped the roses in Buttercream, Warm Sunshine and Caramel Toffee, for the blue ones I used Arctic, Caribbean Sky and Persian Blue, the leaves are stamped in Frayed Leaf, Forest Glade and Evergreen. They are all cut out with the Coordinating Dies. I placed them on the card and then used some Press ‘n Seal to pick them up. Dot Runner and Foam Tape is applied to the back and then they are pressed to the card and the Press ‘n Seal removed. My greeting is from the Altenew Super Script 2 Photopolymer Stamp Set. I stamped the wish in Caramel Toffee and the make a in Paper Bag. I thought that the gold on the “trellis” was enough bling so I added nothing else. I love the mix of the yellow and blue flowers against the gold! Renee loved the card and I hope that you like it too! Thank you so much for stopping by! Have a whimsical Wednesday! πŸ™‚

  1. This is so gorgeous, Justin. If I didn’t know better, I’d swear the “wish” sentiment was gold embossed. I hope you’re feeling better today and a big happy birthday to Renee!

    1. Thank you Leah! The caramel color does look a little on the gold side for sure! I was feeling better, but not poor Renee. πŸ™‚

  2. What a great card. That border die, flowers, and sentiment work so well together.

  3. How could Renee not love this card. It’s gorgeous. I love the Press N Seal tip. I actually have used some well-worn transfer tape (or painter’s tape) for the same purpose of moving a bunch of placed items to then apply adhesive. Keeps the headache quotient down a lot. lol.

    1. Thank you Charlotte! She did really like the card! Yes, Press ‘n Seal is a great product, but don’t try the trick with the dies! It takes forever to get the adhesive off the dies! The transfer tape is a good idea too! πŸ™‚

  4. Oh Justin! You really outdid yourself with Renee’s card! I love the look of those multi-stamped flowers. They just don’t look stamped but instead like they are cut out of a magazine. A happy belated birthday to Renee! I did do the blog hop and you are right, there were some amazing creations but I still liked yours the best. That cut out border die is magnificent. Do you carry it in your tore?

Hot and humid here today so I will stay in the A/C. We are still getting lots of tree pollen here and the allergies do NOT like it. I hope you are feeling better. You and Renee must have caught some kind of bug. Still no news on the new baby? You have yourself a Wondrous Wednesday and take care. Love and hugs to you my friend! XXOO πŸ™‚

    1. Thank you Grace! I really do enjoy the Altenew Stamps and their inks are fabulous! They do have a very magazine look to them! Quite realistic! I’m glad that you enjoyed the blog hop and even happier that mine was still your favorite! I can get the border die if you would like it!
It was hot here for most of the week and I enjoyed every minute of it! I was better by the end of the day but Renee is still not quite right. No, no baby news, I’ll let you guys know as soon as anything happens! Love and hugs to you! XOXO πŸ™‚

    1. I was much better by the end of the day Linda! Thank you! Glad that you enjoyed the card! I love those flowers! We had storms here too, but once I’m asleep I hear nothing! Sometime I don’t even hear the 6 alarms that I have set! LOL! πŸ™‚

  7. Hi Justin, absolutely love the flowers and trellis. So romantic and yet could be used for other occasions, too. Would you please explain how to use Press’n Seal for stamping? Not familiar with this technique. Thank you!

    1. Hello Kathy!
Thank you! I do love that die from IO! It does have a romantic feel to it, but would definitely work for so much more! I use the Press ‘n Seal to pick up the stamped images when I arrange them on the card so I don’t have to “remember” where they were! Hope that helps! πŸ™‚
