Freshly Made Sketches 249

It’s the weekend again isn’t it?! LOL! When you work seven days a week the days just sort of blend into one another! I had a nice productive day at the Stamp, Ink, Paper Store. My Altenew order arrived and I got it all checked in and happily sent out emails to people that their Beautiful Day Dies were finally in! There were also some new goodies in the box! You know what that means! Maryanne came up to work on some projects and when Angie came in at 6:00 I headed home. It was a hot one yesterday but I enjoyed it! As long as it doesn’t rain and I can have the top down in the car I don’t miss the AC! I still have to get it fixed though because when I can’t have the top down boy is it hot! When I got home I had a quick dinner and then came home and just relaxed. What a nice way to spend a Friday night!

I used one of the new Altenew sets to make my card for this week’s Freshly Made Sketches challenge…

Freshly Made Sketches 249

The card base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. I took a piece of Solar White 80lb and stamped the stamp and cancelled images from the Altenew Happy Mail Photopolymer Stamp Set in a random pattern with some Morning Frost and Evening Gray Crisp Ink for my background. Downย the left side is a strip of Pale Aqua and across the bottom is a piece of Cherry Red and Ballerina Pink. On the strip of pink I stamped the XOXO from the same set. My images are also from the Happy Mail Set and are stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black and colored in with Copics. I used my Scissors to cut them out, there are no coordinating dies for some reason and let me tell you, I love to fussy cut but those stamps were rough! LOL! Some 3D Foam Squares adhere them to the card and a sprinkling of Pretty Pink Posh Orchid, Dandelion, Aquamarine and Raspberry Sequins gives the card some much needed sparkle! I love that new Altenew Happy Mail Set, it was so much fun to stamp and color in! I hope that you enjoyed my card for this week’s Freshly Made Sketches challenge! Thanks for coming by! Have a stupendous Saturday! ๐Ÿ™‚

  1. Oh man Justin! Does this stamp set SCREAM Grace or what!!!! I have special people in my life that I send hugs and kisses too often just to let them know I care about them and have them in my thoughts. This card couldn’t be more perfect for that. Did you know there is a scissor with a postage stamp edge? If you hadn’t told us that you hand cut the “stamps” I would have sworn you used it! This is a fantastic card and you did a fabulous job with it – as always!

You have yourself a Sun Shiny Saturday my friend. Love & Hugs, XXOO ๐Ÿ™‚

    1. Yay! I love the stamp set grace! It’s nice because you can put all different flowers in the postage stamp! I think the a big hugs card is one of the best ones to get! I have the postage stamp scissors but they didn’t line up with the stamp! Bummer! We all know that I enjoy a little fussy cutting but that was rough! LOL! Thank you!
I had an especially great Saturday! Got to see Daniel and Tristan! Love and hugs to you! XOXO ๐Ÿ™‚

  2. i adore this! Those stamps are perfect. This set looks like it would be fun with quite a few possibilities. Sorry about the seven days straight,I know you love this but just don’t get burnt out. I love seeing your creativity! I really need to get my scrap room organized………boring. but you never know what you may find

    1. Thank you very much Linda! The set is great and yes, you can do quite a few different things with it! I am definitely going to start taking a day off soon, I do love being here but my home is being severely neglected! LOL! It’s fun to clean the scrap room, you always find new old goodies! ๐Ÿ™‚

  3. What a fun card Justin! I love those little postage stamps! They definitely create some happy mail!!! I love the background!!! So sweet! Thanks for joining us this week at Freshly Made Sketches!

  4. This is a great card, Justin. I love that stamp set. Too bad it doesn’t have dies. I know fussy cutting is tiresome with so much to do, but you did a great job. I can’t fussy cut very much due to a tendency to get tennis elbow when I have to grasp the scissors for very long. I love the colors and your take on the sketch this week. So pretty. Have a great day! I think I’m caught up now. Whew! That’s a lot of beauty and inspiration to take in at once. lol

    1. Thanks HJ! I do like fussy cutting but the stamps were a little rough! LOL! I think that happens to me too with the scissors! I think that I hold them too tight! It’s a fun stamp set, you can put anything in the middles of the stamps. I hope that you had a good day! Thanks for catching up! I’m getting caught up today! You are too sweet! Have s super day! ๐Ÿ™‚
